It's not really fair to blame new posters for a "decline" simply beacause they haven't had time to establish themselves, good or bad. It takes many posts to get respected by the community, it can take one to completely ruin you.

Old established players leaving contributes the most to the change. New players aren't being given the oppertunity to establish themselves before the torches and pitchforks come out.

If the site is different, its because of normal change. Not some cataclysmic "decline" because you don't like the new people.

This thread really does represent the decline of the site. Good job, guys! I'm glad I'm far from the only one that noticed this....

And this is where it begins. The misconception that I said new users/players are to blame for all this. That is totally not true. I've met countless new people in the little time that I do play and they're generally a pleasure to be around. It makes me miss the days when things were new to me.

People come and go and the people are the ones that make the forums what they are.

I'll go one further and the decline game-wise has a lot to do with the impatience of older players. They expect new people to come in and just know everything automatically.
