I really don't want this guy near the White House. I don't mind secular arguments for those things -- although I disagree with them -- but have little patience for "It's what God wants!"

Agreed. While I do consider myself to be a person of Faith, the yahoo extremists that running around doing things claiming that it is "What God wants", will eventually be the cause of the Planet's destruction (an no, not on 12/21/2012).

I fear for this nation if Huckabee, the fundamentalist idiot that he is, gets the White House.

Especially after a quote like this,

The United States Constitution never uses the word "God" or makes mention of any religion, drawing its sole authority from "We the People." However, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee thinks it's time to put an end to that.

"I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution," Huckabee told a Michigan audience on Monday. "But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that's what we need to do -- to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view."

When Willie Geist reported Huckabee's opinion on MSNBC's Morning Joe, co-host Mika Brzezinski was almost speechless, and even Joe Scarborough couldn't immediately find much to say beyond calling it "interesting,"

Scarborough finally suggested that while he believes "evangelicals should be able to talk politics ... some might find that statement very troubling, that we're going to change the Constitution to be in line with the Bible. And that's all I'm going to say."

Geist further noted of Huckabee that if "someone without his charm," said that, "he'd be dismissed as a crackpot, but he's Mike Huckabee and he's bascially the front-runner."

oye, I've really gotta get better at the whole, sealing my comments off to misuse, thing.

I'm tired of America being involved in every single world affair that hits the stage.
America needs to stop being the first responder.
Europe needs to step up to the plate on more occasions.
America has a long forgotten domestic responsibility to its own people.

I am not saying America is not supposed to do things abroad, I am only saying that the American people have taken a back seat to our police force military.

How did I miss quote you? My post was in response to Sharpes sarcastic reply to your post. I agree with you about what you are saying. I was just saying that "most of the world wants the US to stay out of world affairs" is crap and not true. My reply had nothing to do with your post.

a republican won't win.

out of john edwards, barack obama, and hilary clinton.

i'm voting for hilary me thinks. i was a little unsure about a woman, but i think she would do fine. i'm sure the other two would be fine also, but i think if i had to vote today, it'd be hilary.

/em laughs while Hillary gets her ass handed to her in South Carolina.

no need to advertise like that lol... there are enough of us ron paul people here that they should know his positions.

no idea i stole it somewhere...

/comforts Celvantes because Obama got more votes than McCain and Huckabee combined in the GOP primary.

An opponent (Hillary) pulling the race card will do that. I'm not worried.

The way I see it now, the GOP needs a Romney/Huckabee ticket to have a realistic shot at winning the general election. McCain winning the nomination will be a death knell for our shot at the Presidency.

America would rather vote for a dead guy than the Republican candidates.

This should come as no surprise, Busta. Ronald Reagan defined modern conservatism and the modern Republican Party. A couple of the current candidates come close, but none match the Gipper on every issue.

On top of it all, no one can match his oration.

By the way, EVERYONE should watch this video... no matter your political leaning.

Aye, he was a good speaker but it seemed that's most of what he was. I liked Reagan overall but there were many things he did that I didn't like. I personally prefer a Taft style of conservatism over a Reagan's.
