McCain voted against the Feinstein amendment because there was alot more then just water-boarding on the table.

Yes, I know. He thinks torturing prisoners is bad... unless the CIA does it. So fuck him.

In other news, I got a chuckle out of Huckabee endorsing the proposed "Eggs Are People, Too" amendment. What a wonderful legal can of worms that would open up. Just one more reason I hope he gets nowhere near the White House. I hope he follows up by finding an "Every Sperm is Sacred" amendment to stand behind.

when did he say that? He's made clear that hes completely against water boarding or any other form of torture, no matter who does it. The problem is that there was alot more then that in the bill. Passing it would have severely hindered interrogation's, not even counting the water-boarding.

I think thats part of the problem in Washington right now, these bills have SO much shit pilled into them. It severely hinders the process because they can never pass just one policy, so if someone votes against a bill for a particular part of it. The press and opponents can point and say "See? hes for torture!" which could not be further from the truth. Not to mention all the money payoffs tagged on to every bill that goes threw.

Which is one of the reason I like McCain, He said he will veto all bills that come to his desk with any sort of pork barrel spending or BS earmarks.

He must've changed his mind, because when asked to explain his vote he said it the CIA should not be bound by the rules everyone else would have to follow. It's acceptable when they do it, according to John McCain. This wasn't a case of him voting against some obscure section.

So lets just make the CIA Specters.

Texas Primaries coming up.
Apparently this is a "must-win" state for Clinton, according to Bill?
Good luck. You'll need it.

Yeah, unfortunately Hilliarity won both Ohio and Texas. I am absolutely dreading the upcoming election. I once thought (about four years ago), that it could not get any worse than Kerry and Bush.....I was wrong! The 3 major players left are all bad. If Obama gets the nod from the DNC, I won't even have the fall back luxury of having someone to vote against.

Please, someone who supports hillary, please give me a legitimate reason why(?)! I have spoken to a few "Die Hard" Hillary supporters and the BEST they could come up with is that Obama just seems too slick..... Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Obama's positions, but at least he has some! Seriously, I watched the Ohio debates last week and Hillary was denouncing NAFTA (who's watch was that signed under again?) in a state that has been hit hard by NAFTA, then the very next day I see her go the other way on the topic in Texas (a state that has prospered under NAFTA. We could create an entire seperate thread on the political-economical meaning when a Rep state prospers and a Dem state flounders, but I don't want to derail too much). This is not an isolated incident either, she does this shit ALL THE DAMN TIME! and people buy into her BS!! WHY???

I get a kick out of watching her ads here locally as well. She talks about her 'record' and 'experience'. What experience? Her only experience is as a senator, a job which she only got because of her last name.

Because I don't want John McCain selecting the next batch of Supreme Court justices.

I lean toward Obama, but I don't dislike Hillary and I'm comfortable with her if she gets on the ticket. Either way, it'll be refreshing to have something besides another standard-model white man in charge.

She didn't spring fully-formed from the brow of Zeus, already married to Bill Clinton and being your basic Stepford wife. She earned a law degree and put it to use. She's highly intelligent and likable.

And I truly admire how she's carried herself through the campaign. She's face a level of withering scorn from the media that has (so far) not been leveled at Obama. Scrutiny is part of the game, but damn.

Oh, I know she has a law degree and was a practitioner, but there are a mectric shitton of educated lawyers out there and that in no way qaulifies them to be commander in chief. Her only real political experience is what? One term as a senator, which she did win because of name recognition. I'm not saying that Obama is all that experienced, I just find humerous irony in her recent attacks on BO's experience.

The attacks Hillary has faced in the media, she has left herself open for. Obama has been character assasinated on the internet, portrayed as a radical muslim and anti-american (probably by some racist red neck who just figured out how to turn on a PC).

And people say he isnt the next bush... he had to be corrected.

Four more years! Four more years!

Don't know if it's just the press we get in the UK but a lot of people reckon she was the brains behind Bill. His charisma and gift of the gab and her brains. Like I said though being outside of the US I don't know if that was the case.

The brains behind Bill doing what though? All he had going for him was charisma, Bill never really did anything! Except for signing NAFTA, which would be ironic seeing as how (if your theory is correct) Hillary trashed her own brainchild to win the Ohio primary.

It's not my theory, just what has been banded about the press in the UK. I couldn't care less who was president of the US as long as they aren't as retarded as Bush. I'm praying our next Prime Minister pulls us out of America's ass, tells America where to shove it and moves closer to Europe. Although I can't see that happening for a very long time :(.

Not that Im the biggest Bush supporter around, but I have to wonder how Bush is to blame for any problems in England.

Bush start war..
England join war..
???
Profit

As of late I have been keeping track of the fight between Clinton and Obama, and I have come to the conclusion that Clinton epitomizes the party mascot of the donkey. She is so stubborn and selfish to the point that she will not concede defeat and put the parties desire of having a candidate that will have ample time to campaign against Mc Cain i.e. Obama.

Supporters of Clinton will chalk up her stubborn demeanor to determination, but honestly she is driving herself into the ground with the amount of debt she is racking up. I certainly admire that she is a woman that is trying to be the first in the White House, but come on already step aside and let another first get in there and hopefully win the White House.

Any thoughts?

Just to lighten the mood

She'll take the fight to the convention. As much as I'd love to see her drop out at this point, she's well within her rights to push on. I don't think it's going to make much difference, though. I think Obama is doing the right thing by not trying to force her out and simply focusing his attacks where they belong: Bush-wannabe McCain.

She got a little psychological boost from West Virginia and Kentucky, but those are Appalachian states where a black guy just can't win. I've lived in West Virginia all my life, and it's been entertaining watching my fellow citizens hiss like scalded cats at how they're being portrayed as ignorant racists in the national media.

It's probably confusing the fuck out of them that Sen. Byrd endorsed Obama.

I will have to say Halifirien, that I enjoy how the media says that the uneducated blue collar Americans support Clinton.

In all seriousness, I feel that she should have the grace to bow out for the greater good of the party. Even prominent super delegates are advising her to do so and even some of them, that she had the support of, have gone over to Obama.
