Read the articles. Sources state they weren't taking steriods at all. Every guy on that list has weight problems. They took "water pills" to lose weight because they have weight clauses. It's a masking agent, not steroids.

Over 300 substances are on that list, and players don't know half of them. It's the training staff's job to inform the players. Up to 4 saints players are on that list probably. The training staff should be fired.


So far Charles Grant, Will Smith, and Deuce Mcalister are indentified. All big guys trying to lose weight in the off-season.
 
Weight loss supplements are illegal? Thats kinda rediculous and its so fucked up how the media makes it seem like they roid. The headlines all say how they broke the 'Nfl Steroid Policy'.

In a somewhat POSITIVE note. You know all the times we heard the excuse "I didnt know what was in X supplement, or i didnt know it was illegal". Maybe they mightve been being honest.
 
not like its the first time reporters went with the negative angle to help boost a story. i was worried at first till i read what the sports casters were saying. im not sure what to think about this really but im reserving judgment till i hear more.

Well, look at Denver this entire season... Who CAN'T throw the ball against Denver? And with Champ Baily down, it's gonna get far worse before it gets better. He may be back in 3-4 weeks from it, but he won't be in full stride for far longer than that. He'll probably be on the IR all year for it, considering he matches up strictly against every teams #1 receiver.

Acutally Pes they are worried about losing weight. Have you ever heard of a Weight Clause in a contract? Deuce, Grant and Smith all have one. If they don't meet it they dont play.

Deuce has one for his knee. Grant and Smith have one because they had poor performance in 07 because of being over-weight.

The lady who broke the story came on ESPN earlier. She stated that sources say that these players were indeed using them for Weight Loss in the off-season. It's ESPN saying they broke the "steroid policy"

And pes, I never said it wasnt illegal. I can see why it is. I still believe they should review the case and contracts, do some more research before they suspend a player 4 games. I'm guessing he didn't take a damn steriod. Why start now at 30? Deuce's career proves he never took them in the first place though. He's been injured prone since Ole Miss. People taking steriods usually dont become injury prone till they come off the drug.

im not saying 100% for sure he did it for roids and i understand there is a few lines in the contract about weight but there are otherways of doing it..that are legal.

the nfl is actually looking into the cases and not just suspending them right away(hense why is was kept low key). i wasnt trying to call you out on the issue of legalness..just clearing it up so anyone that replies does in fact know its not legal

i wont lie..id rather deuce get it cleared up and not taint his name..and go out on a good note

Oh i know for sure Merriman did it lol. Thats why he's injured first time in his life. Same with Bonds when he came off. Though Deuce's injury has nothing to do it, because he's had them since his Junior year at OleMiss. His running style and weight are the reasons behind his knee's (both have had torn ACL's lol).

No one knows for sure if Deuce did it or not, but im leaning towards no. The training staff should have warned them since it was given by them.

Anglis.... the Bumetanide is on the banned substance lists because it makes it nearly impossible to detect steroid use with a drug test. It inflates the salt levels in the urine extremely.

I know they're your favorite team, but try and look at it as objectively as you can. I don't honestly think he's a cheater or anything, but it's on the banned substance list for a reason, so it shouldn't be used.
 
he is looking at it objectivly. he knows about Deuce's history and the drugs he was busted for. Deuce is my man too. but im not gonna blindly defend him either. The report itself said it wasnt steroids he and will were busted for. they were busted for a substance that falls under the NFL steroid policy, because it masks them.

and yes it shouldnt be used at all. but since the paramount drug also help players with weight issues the trainers who give them these pills should be looked at as well, not just the players. i, too, dont thing deuce is taking any. he hasnt his entire career in the NFL and he has no real reason to start now.

I did, i said it masks other substances. It masks pot as well.

He's got a lawyer right now on the case. Supposedly Deuce brought that pill to the league 4 years ago and they approved it for him to use....for weight problems!
 
'Aints will be in serious trouble if they lose half of their stars with Bush on the shelf. That's too bad, for the seemingly too many 'Aints fans on this board.

Meanwhile, every single NFC East team won. Pitt-Wash will be huge next week.
