Lately (as in the entire past month) I've been fortunate to get to party with Thieves that don't do sneak attack+trick attack+a weapon skill. It's really aggravation to log on a week later to find them 20 levels higher than when i partied with them. I mean how the heck can you be a thief and get mad when you are asked to used all three together? 4srs!?
As WAR i had to explain to a THF how to use SATA in the jungle, and that's cool since you ding 30 there anyways, so no fault there. As NIN it took me an hour and a half to explain to a japanese THF with /NIN5 how to use all of them together. Poor Tokash was taking a massive beating each time the THF pulled ;_; I had to explain to a japanese THF as RNG in the desert how to do SATA and Viper Bite. Then, AGAIN, I had to explain to japanese THF in Garlaige how to do SATA VIper Bite. Naturally, praying for a skillchain was about as likely as getting Ridill do drop. I haven't even leveled THF past 18 and I know how to set up the macros >_< UGH!!!!!

People will always be stupid. It doesn't matter how painstakingly easy it is to SATA+WS, people will still never know how to do it and complain to you when you ask them to instead of asking for help.
New people who ding 30THF have an excuse, because well .. they've never seen it before. But when you get to level 50 and they don't do it (And most still don't realise that hide + SATAing your tank while he/she has hate works on most mobs), well, that has no excuse.

Yeah, I've seen alot of bad Thieves out there, like I had a THF on Sea Puks using SATA Cyclone, so I'm like not only does it not stack with Cyclone and that it's AoE so its possible it may fuck us up, but ITS WIND DAMAGE! He kept healing the Sea Puk! I asked him to stop and he wouldn't, luck for him I wasn't the party leader.

a lot of thieves are dumb.

then again, a lot of tanks and pullers/first vokers are dumb.

I was lucky and had a semi-static until my thief was over 60, but even then it was sometimes hard to get our pug tanks to quickly move behind the mob and close enough so I could actually -hit- the mob. And when I asked, they'd generally be back to their old habits the next battle.

It works both ways, there's a reason people generally don't invite thieves =/

Yeah I know what you mean... Its REALLY annoying when w/e you ask to do something goes back to their habits before you asked them to do it, AFTER the first time they complied.

thfs sux:128:

I quit my THF at 51 because people didn't know how SATA worked, even after I asked them, "Do you know how SATA works?"
"LOL yeah im not a nub"
So then I tell them my TP and then.... nothing.

Too many people are scared of SATA. :\

That seems to be the general consensus. I'm only asked to go thf to events for TH. Sadly, my TH is more gimp than my THF skills....

yep, people seem suprised when I tell them you can sata my blu if need be

I personally think it's fun one thf sata's me then the next when my shadows are down then the nin does it.

also parry procs are nice since i'm usually spamming headbutt to save shadows but they go down only so quick

When lvling PLD I didn't have too many THFs in my parties which sometimes made me forget about the whole SATA thing, I'd say I've only had 5 THFs in my party from 10-75 PLD. Not saying that no tanks are dumb, cause I've had alot of dumb ones on RDM, but some Tanks just forget about SATA cause you barely have THFs in party.

Hahahaha thats the truth!!!!! (which is pretty bad!)

Question to the op completely disregardiing the gimp subjob and such.

But isn't Viper Bite a level 31 Weapon skill unless you have merits in dagger?

Yes, but it works all the same with shadowstitch

Most THF like to use a sword until they get Viper Bite, so I don't think Shadowstich is really worth the lolbind effect.

At level 30 you should be using dual daggers though, or at the very least one of them, since getting VB as soon as possible is kind of a priority

It's semi-useful when soloing though, if you're getting into some trouble. Shadowstitch+Flee+gtfo = live to fight another day, at least in my experiences :D
