Thinking of asking for the Banhammer

Interesting thread that's for sure! I really would advise you all to just not go out at all. The sigs were nerfed because...they truly were too big. If you want to size them down and put them back up then knock yourself out.

The problem with jamal...is that he is usually baited first. So somebody comes in thinking they are funny by baiting him, and then when he lashes out it's a surprise why he does it. He's a prick. There's no getting around that. However I'm trying to be different then the other admins and really kind of point out that there is no rule against being a prick.

I noticed here that y'all actually have decent ideas and thoughts. If you think the site is on a downward spiral...then by all means please speak up and tell me how to change it. And I'm reading here that there are apparently a lot of posts in the job forums that are flamebait and still remain. Did anyone report it? That's the easiest way to be like "Hey! This is not cool man!"

So instead of thinking that you can go out with a bang, why not talk to the staff and give ideas instead of negativity. You have no idea how much negativity comes from the userbase. I cannot read minds. I cannot figure out what you guys want or need just by reading your posts. I'm consantly trying to figure out ways to make this site better. Shit, I'm about to toss down about 200 dollars to SE to purchase play arts so that people will actually participate in the contests that we put on. Frankly, the prizes before sucked. I wouldn't give two shits if I got a retarded banner that said "Contest Winner" :dur:

The whole signature thing comes into play because I've noticed people with youtube movies, giant pictures, and multiple pictures in their signature. Frankly, I needed to get it fixed up. If you see someone with a signature that's overboard then report it. We do our best to let you know what happened if you reported a post. But frankly, the staff isn't running at full steam anymore. And sometimes it really is only me on that end.

I could front some of the cost of a prize if you wanted to :V. I have not much, but I was planning on using it to help that dirty fake-Canadian Hitaru's vent bill until he turned me down repeatedly.

That is the honest truth here. The only exception to this was in my "QCDN Feuding" thread, where I hadn't said shit aside from my video (which was directed, primarily, at Justinp+Dancingweapon and Bluefrost+Nycon, sorry guys lol), and he started his cutesy little "Clitstram Green" bullshit.

I wouldn't have gone all-out like Kotsu did had I created a flame vs. him. Granted, I'm not Kotsu.

The Dark Knight job forum is a fucking joke. When the first thread in there is an absolutely ridiculous joke thread by someone who barely even plays DRK anymore, you know something's wrong. Likewise, it's full of mean shit by the same people who think they know more than anyone else...but I haven't reported it because I chalk it up to "hey - they're perpetuating the emoDRK myth. fuck em."

By contrast, the Black Mage job forum is heavenly. Good info, good banter between those of us who enjoy, level, or toy around on BLM, and even Pchan gets props in there from me.

We realize how much negativity gets tossed at you, and truthfully, I've been sick of it since....yes, jamal....offered to buyout the site from Reeve. The amount of whining I see on this forum from the userbase is mindboggling. Dare I say, the userbase has lost its mind :wink:

You're the boss, but I'd see that as a desperate attempt at generating interest (yes, I realize you actually are desperate), rather than a chance to get some good prizes.

Here's an idea - I know Tenkax is very handy with drawing, and he actually friggin works on the site. How about a print (drawn by him?), signed by the staff (you could even use your screennames)? That...would be a truly unique and worthy prize of a QCDN contest.

The main thing that bothers me about the Jamal situation is events like the ZNM thread. Generally I don't let him bother me nor does he try to bother me. In fact he's rated me up and I have returned the favor when it merited it. I've been nice to him and have posted my differences with him if there are any. Usually he's nice to me but sometimes replies to my posts like I'm attacking him. Usually those threads were already in argument mode by the time that I posted and I'm sure that even civil posts could be misinterpreted at that time. Usually he realizes that I'm not out to get him and would talk things over with me in the thread. I do find him a bit whiny and impatient for action sometimes. Most of those types of posts have been deleted but Tristam's flame with the STFU video is one that comes to mind. Honestly I didn't read much of the recent flames towards him because I'm tired of hearing people complain about him. There are several other people that bother me on the website sometimes but I usually don't think about it much after the annoyance.

Overall I've thought that the mods have been doing an excellent job of trying to improve the site as a whole and have been modding well. I know that you (Miros) and the rest of the mods put a lot of time into the site and it's not easy when some users cause more work on you. I still post and take part in discussions like I do now.

Well that explains the sigs. I did pester you about it not because I actually cared, I just found it suss. But since you now explained it in further detail, I apologise for causing any unnecessary stress. And I still stand by the fact that I believe you are a very good moderator, Miros.

The whole Jamal thing, I just find tedious. Yes, he's a prick and no there are no rules against that (although being a prick towards specific people on a forum can file under harassment, but I digress) however we've banned people for a lot less. I'm not saying we should slip back into old patterns as that would not be progressive at all. What I am saying is that the situation isn't being dealt with effectively if the latest approach has a good portion of the memebers here putting him on ignore. Why should we have to avoid certain forums and threads? We've broken no qcdn rules.

I suspect that this whole ordeal has spun out of control. With Jamal, I think he's the way he is because he knows there will be no serious repercussions. He believes himself indispensable to the site and throws his weight around accordingly. I am not privvy to the conversations you have with him behind close doors, so maybe he is trying in spite of himself - however from out here, it does not look good.

My advice to you, would be to ask yourself the following:
  • Is this new method you're trying to incorporate in order to contain him really worth all the extra effort and resources (again, given that you mod it up here solo predominantly)?
  • Is he taking your sanctions seriously?
  • Do you really think he'll change his tune one day?
  • And lastly... What would Cmdrfly do? :awesome:
 
Have never had any run ins with Jamal so he doesnt bother me other than thinking himself a God. I have never reported a post on these forums aside from the other day which was the Good Times Thread which was necroed out of spite and had no business being bumped up. I do think Miros does a great job putting up with alot of the stupid ass shit that happens here and the complaints he must have to deal with. I do think some things are not always treated the same way around though. I dont know if anything happened with Grandpheonix (sp) but what he did was a form of flamebaiting and it just seems others may have been reprimanded from it. I just hope it doesnt turn into a Jamal SnB show on the forums and it is catered to them.
 
I dunno, I'm just 100% demoralized. I'm tired of his shit. I don't want to offer to help someone with literally zero personal gain, and ask myself in the back of my mind how badly this guy is talking shit about me in PM's to another person. Slandering me when I just wanted to help. That's why I went all out. I can only take so much shit from one asshole. That person brings out the worst in me and I really do hate it. There's a lot of good people on here, they shouldn't be subjected to dealing with someone like him. He wants to talk to his funky bunch, he can do so on the SnB boards. Check blogs if a friend posts, and PM with a friend I haven't talked to in a while to make sure everything's good with them. Jamal still being here after doing so much shit feels like a let down. His sanction status is apparently for three different infractions. If harassment doesn't include slander, bugging people after they say not to PM them, then we need to redefine it. He should have an infraction for that. Flamebaiting and harassment in the event thread another infraction. the VM thing with Nycon and Bluefrost. That's just three, not counting the chatbox incident. I mean, wtf.

I know you're doing fine, I've told you multiple times. I questions the global mod's but hey, they haven't earned my trust. I didn't want to post RL information and the e-lationship thing was a gray area in my opinion so I felt it was ok. Had I noticed the first post was editted, I wouldn't have done a second, since I was trying to find pics that didn't get posted like I planned ( kinda wierd, not idea how that happened ). If the judgment was from someone who actually knew me, they'd know I wouldn't have posted it to directly break the rules. I'm an asshole when provoked to be, but I'm still a good guy, even though I often times don't want to be. As the the RL-name thing, how could I resist making that joke? XD but he's done substantially worse. The global mod's may do some work, but they have zero trust from me. I'm sure I'm not alone. However, so long as the cocks of Rappa, Jamal, and Audino are essentially deep throated down all 3 inches of e-peen length by people, I suppose the good people are left behind. I don't give a fuck how much they know about the game. In the end, it's about the actual person behind the character. I can say Jamal isn't a good person. I agree with Audino's avatar, he is the Harvey Dent of QCDN. He's the most two-faced bastard of the group. Rappa and Falsey are along for the ego-ride.

I'm sorry guys but this is really pissing me off. Kayleen purposely banned herself the other day, and I left the vent channel because of her til she left. I don't get why you want to get modmins stress by doing shit to piss them off. If you don't wanna return to the site then... DON'T RETURN TO THE DAMN SITE. You do not have to get yourself banned for you to not return. If the flameboard is pissing you off then do what I do, IGNORE IT. Only reason I was there the other day was to support Kotsu.
