In defense of kids now-a-days...
Yes, most of us here are older now and have been playing violent video games for quite a few years. We turned out fine, right? Here's the difference I think. We also played outside a lot too. I know I played multiple sports and was outside EVERY day (except like, rain. sometimes) Now I almost NEVER see kids outside. I mean, what the fuck is wrong with these parents? I played videogames in the morning (I'd get up at 5:30-6:00, play videogames and listen to sportscenter every morning) and evening from like 7-8 or 7-9. Saturday mornings and sunday mornings would be games all morning until 11, then outside I went. That's obviously not the way it is anymore. It's not the games making the kids violent. It's the lack of a social relationship being developed so that these kids understand the importance of interaction with other people. Hard to be violent to someone when you have the higher understanding of the value of life. I don't think you get that from videogames. You get that from playing with other kids IRL, not in a game. Not online. In person.
Of course, this is my own personal belief. I don't expect this to align with everyone's, but I know a lot of people who would agree that the lack of social interaction in person in regards to children makes a big difference into the development of their personalities throughout life.
