1. Have patience. The wonderful item you covet may be coveted by 10 others in your endgame shell, and they've been around longer. Not everyone can be in the main party, let alone in the tank party. Patience, perseverance and realistic expectations will help you tremendously.

2. Teamwork, cooperation and reliability are at a premium. Where before you could fight things with half a party, now it rarely applies. Alliances of 18, and multi-alliance fights, will happen more and more. Learn to work with others. Be a reliable member. Build a reputation for reliability. Shun a reputation as a drama king/queen.

3. Know your shell's rules about fights, points, drop priorities, etc., before you join. If you cannot accept those rules, look elsewhere, rather than waiting two months to bitch about them. If you know the rules and accept them, then accept them fully.

4. When it's a "highest points in that job gets it" arrangement, it may seem your goal is far away. On the other hand, not getting the "high lot" on an item you've been trying for months to get, when someone who's been with the shell 3 weeks gets it, can be just as demoralizing.

5. Respect your leaders. Leading an endgame shell is a demanding, and draining, responsibility.

6. Support your shellmembers in major and minor things. Go the extra mile for them. Help build an environment where they, in turn, will go the extra mile for you too.

7. Demand integrity of yourself.

8. Foster integrity on the part of your shell, its members and its leaders. If a claim is contested, is getting that pop item really worth compromising your shell's reputation with the rest of the server?

9. Communicate well and in a timely manner. Let people know what is going on, so that you don't surprise or disappoint others with unannounced absences or conflicts.

10. Do your homework. Know your job and your role in any fight - what to expect, and what to do.

11. Make it a fun and rewarding experience for others, including in particular your shellmates.

12. Do these things, and it will always be fun and rewarding for you.

All the best,
Fire (who wishes he lived up to all these ideals)

That's too much to remember or even care about. Just always look out for number one.

Edit: I mean "number one" as in yourself, not the one listed in the OP.

Firebrand are you in the NA shells Perseverance or Kaizen?

If not then please stop talking about endgame and how to be successful, thanks.

Oh know am I being to real for qcdn? Sorry to be truthful with this feelgood warm and fuzzy thread!

Someone get this man some weed and a strong drink.

I think you have a very good message, Fire. It is sound advice.

So you're saying Pers and Kaizen are the only successful end game shells?

Gotta lol at that.

Are you flamebaiting or do you like to go around shitting on people for no reason? He was talking about how an INDIVIDUAL that is new to endgame can be more successful, not which endgame shell is the most successful. I'm pretty sure preserverence or kaizen (or any other end game shell) would be happy to have people who take Firebrand's philosophy to heart.

Thanks for the positive advice, Firebrand.

Dude (or dudette), it was Vang. He had already been banned (again) by the time you made this post. Flamebaiting is kinda what Vang was all about.

Funny thing is, the OP is mostly right. Most of the endgame flames here between a member and their shell are directly because one or the other isn't doing one of those 12 things...

That are NA/EU run? Yes.

Since when are HNM the only end-game event? Because those are the only things I can think of that they are highly successful (as in, more-so than others) on.

As for the topic at-hand, good post Fire. I wish more people would have realized that by now.

Then do we call every Dynamis LS an Endgame LS? or every Sky shell?

The definition of Endgame has changed since the start of the game. It used to be roc and shit, back when that's all there was and they were actualy hard. Then it was sky, Then it was HNMs, Then it was all the stupidly hard stuff we do now.

The current Endgame shell is any shell which strives to do many aspects of the Endgame, Which are HNMs, Wyrms, and High-difficulty BCNMs (Ouryu, BV2, ect.)

Aren't they the ONLY HNMlses that are NA/EU run? And I don't mean shells that start up and die in a couple weeks.

Exactly, because no one else can get up there and maintain it. This isn't to say that no other shell will get up to that level, I'm even of the opinion that a couple shells in existance right now have a pretty good chance to get there if they really try.

The problem is that most NA/EU players that actually want to kill HNMs have already joined one of those two shells or even some of the more successful JP lses. It would be very hard for another NA/EU hnmls to start because most of the people who'd actually be able to lead a large group successfully by having the resources to gather a group and the knowledge/skill to actually do it have either already been recruited or have no interest in end-game (I would put myself in that latter category). Edit: That's why most new linkshells die (or even shells that last for a pretty long time like Purpose/Element did), poor leadership.

That's not what he said.

He said: "are you in the NA shells Perseverance or Kaizen?"

And Uzor have a very good point.
Being able to kill Fafhogg, KB and Aspid doesn't exactly make your shell a successful endgame shell...
3 years ago, then maybe those were the criterias.

And seriously.
What exactly is "all the stupidly hard stuff we do now."
Because I cant think of one stupidly hard event or monster.
Aside from the one very obvious.

And sadly, that's still what most endgame linkshells revolve around. Although now it's not so much the "being able to kill them" part, as much as it having a group that shows up consistently.

And it's quite saddening if you ask me, that SE wont create something new that will take away some people's attention from those 3 areas.
Einherjar was a good shot, but it wont reduce the pople that show at said places.
Now, if you could go once every day and be guaranteed 1 abj each win, then you just might loose atleast 1 LS.
2 if you're really lucky.

The thing is, Kaizen and Perseverance are the only shells that do everything as a group.

However, there's several parts to end-game. And every part of it have successful shells that only focus on that, or maybe 1 more event.

Kaizen and Perseverance are far from the only successful end-game shells. they may be the only successful multi-purpose end-game shells, but that doesn't make them the only one successful in the events they do. The only thing they're more successful on than others is HNM's.

And BTW, HNM's aren't hard to do. The hard thing is, as mentioned before, getting claim and having people show up at 4 AM on a workday. The killing itself is very easy. Hell, as Rappa mentioned earlier, there's plenty of people with the experience and skill to lead a HNM LS. I could do it if I wanted to, but alas, I'm not interested in HNM's. Nor are a rather large part of end-game.

You don't have to be in Kaizen and Perseverance to be an experienced end-game player. If you've done all events that you can do in the events, are you still inexperienced just because you're not in Kaizen and Perseverance?
