dude, why are you crapping on their skills as an endgame shell? that's a low blow and really doesn't have any place in this thread. if you want to call someone out for hypocrisy, that's fine and dandy, but it does not give you the right to be a dong to them concerning the achievements of which they're justifiably proud. i just don't get it.
Looking at it idealistically, each person has their own standpoint on what they've done. Far too many people believe that this game is the only common ground for social interaction, and based on that, begin to establish their own, special "placement" for say. It's a tiered system, like anything else, and totally rubbish at that. When you see social interactions and in some cases entire lives spent in this regard, via the internet or a game, you get groups of people over time that have made more "accomplishments" than others. Now, this isn't a burn to Necrosis, or anyone else, as I'm no innocent in teasing based on gear selection or other various things, but what tends to happen more often than not, as seen in Necro's response to Anaeran's post, is mockery.
In the end, you need to stop and think about it before being offended at that kind of thing. Necrosis has done just about all the game has to offer. Necrosis is not an idle person, and at times (again, not a burn to you buddy) he is not very amicable at all. Again, case in point, it's all in perspective. People in Celestial Knights were proud of killing that Nidhogg, being completely new to the Three Kings scene and still a fairly unequipped shell at the time, rightly so. There is nothing wrong with being proud of something, be it killing something revered in a video game you play, learning to tie your shoe, asking that girl out (or guy, bare with me ladies), or anything else. But understand, that not everyone else will deem what you're proud of as an accomplishment. That's just how it goes. Humans, as a whole, strive to be ahead of their peers in the kind of society we live in. We have a structured, livable world where classes subrigate other classes with your extreme tops and your extreme bottoms. What happens when people from the higher ups see the lower bottoms? They mock it, they berate it. Why? Logically, it's because they completely disregard someone from that group's complacity with their own living situation. Does it happen often? Yes, but it's not absolute.
Eventually, it comes to down to the fact that everyone attempts to achieve more in life, at least anyone decent and self-caring, be it in a video game, real life, with a woman, with money, living status, etc. Anything you can think of that has any sort of tiered human symplex system is up for grabs there.
Now, as I touched on earlier, taking offense to an insult really is counter-productive. Everyone needs to realize that people as a whole, have flaws. Many flaws. But alot of them are all in perspective. The internet, guys and gals, is not as serious of a place as society in today's world deems it, try not to take things so offensively from someone that you will never, ever know. Now, I like Necrosis, I find his to-the-point attitude very refreshing, but that doesn't really change the nature of this "argument". Now, I don't frequent this section of the QCDN database often, because really, most of these "flames" are either written poorly, or about someone taking offense to the most minor issues that really do not need any more lime light than say, Donald Trump.
In the end, realize that you're just you. You and your friends, take relevence and enjoyment in what it is you do, and not necessarily anyone outside of that little circle of endulgence. Necrosis was very free to bring the insults to the board, just as much as all of you are very free to read these insults and actually take offense, if you really want to subjigate yourself to any kind of emotional controversy over a game. Again, it's free choice, so take it as you will.
