Movie Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen - Spoilers Within

It was exactly what I expected it to be, so it was awesome. All these reviewers complaining about the lack of human touch in this movie...its a fricking movie about transforming robots, there was far too many humans as it is. The US soldiers got far too much screentime in my opinion.

Also needed a bit more Optimus Prime, the final battle with him was too short ;(

But overall it was a great eye candy fest.

Does anyone know if they have released how much this movie has grossed in and where i could find it.

After piling on $60.7 million on Wednesday including midnight screenings, the second go-around for Sam Witwicky, Optimus Prime and friends raked in an additional $28.6 million on Thursday. Friday's numbers should surpass $30 million and push the domestic total well over $100 million after only three days.

A couple days old. Check imdb.com tomorrow night and it should be updated with top 10 at the box office and should show transformers total since it'll probably be #1. Those numbers are US only btw.

I wasn't overly impressed with the first movie, but I really enjoyed this one. The fight scenes were vastly improved, and the definitely upped the amount of badassery. I was surprised by the amount of comedy, Jetfire was awesome.

But I swear to god, if Michael Bay doesn't stop using the 360 degree panning shots... I'm going to kill babies.

I just got back from seeing it. I enjoyed it more than the first, although that's not really saying much. The Joe Pesci-bot was amusing, and I liked seeing Ravage. I'm also glad we didn't have John Voight and the codebreaker duo sucking up all the oxygen. This movie was over two hours long, but it didn't feel nearly as bloated.

I also liked Leo, mostly because the actor was in The Wire and was sleeping with Omar.

The movie experience was saved by having a little kid sitting behind me. Every time I'd start to shake my head in sorrow, the kid would giggle at Bumblebee or the twin autobots and remind me of the intended audience.

I still think it's a cinematic shit sandwich, but it's tastier than the first.

You know, I had completely forgotten about the Australian chick and Anthony Anderson being in the first film :|

I enjoyed the film a lot, It really got a bad rap from the critics.

But there was some cheesy and juvenile stuff they could have left out and not affected the film at all.

It was good to see the Autobots especially Optimus Prime actually being bad ass in here and not just getting beat up.

The fight scenes were pretty good. The twins were annoying as balls. Speaking of balls, Devastator's balls were ridiculous.

Everything that did not involve robots wailing on each other was complete garbage.

Yeah, I find it weird that None of the machines used to make Devestator had wrecking balls on them, yet he somehow managed to get a pair of them.

The twins were flat out annoying, primarily with the blatant racism; they were funny once or twice, but mostly just annoying.

I really enjoyed the movie. The Parents need to die off, the soldier's I'm cool with since they're at least somewhat important to the plot. The plot was extremely simple and predictable, but the action was great and that's what I wanted.

My roommate dragged me along to see this movie with some group of strangers who usually get together to watch movies, then they critique it while they go out to dinner.

As expected the only thing that mattered to them, as in any movie, is the plot and story and other details that support those attributes. Over all they gave TROTF, 3 out of 10. They could not personally understand the 7 out of 10 rating I gave it, which makes me an amateur observer in some of their opinions.

We had to give some reasons as to why we liked the movie more than they did. I do admit some parts of the movie I wish they never implemented cause it happened too fast, like Sam's parents showing up in Egypt in what seemed like 24 hours. However things like that doesn't totally ruin the plot.

The story really began when Prime went down. Sam having to piece together the mystery of the Matrix under such critical conditions is all that was needed for there to be enough excuse for there to be chaotic action.

Over all I had to point out that I never went to see this movie for how good the story is. For me it was about how well done the characters and action sequences are. The story telling and the other garbage was there to keep me company while I await the next piece of action, and all this in between stuff I think I can cope with again when I watch this movie for a 2nd or 3rd time somewhere down the road. The CG I think is more realistic than the first. I enjoyed the scene when Megatron and Starscream was standing on top of that building while the camera was rotating around them. They really looked like they were there, many of the other composite layer shots were also expressing very believable visuals.

I'd like to see Jetfire again. Everything about that character was amazing. Down to how he transformed for the first time in decades. He was all rusty at it and even had to use his hands to get some parts into place.

Saw it. Liked it. Sequels are either better or worse than the first and I think this was right on par.

I think it ended with a possibility for a fourth, if they do it right. If Bay only does a third to wrap up the story, it'll be condensed. Two more films would give plenty of wiggle room to end the story properly and let Bay keep his Robotchicken name "MIKEABAYESPOLSHUN!"

The story is very loose. And that's intentional! These movies are based on a toy. A.... TOY!!! A toy that inspired a Saturday morning cartoon series and a cartoon movie. Film critics are forgetting that. Heck, a writer from SpongeBob Squarepants came on board for TRotF. Which explains some of the so-so humor.

Another thing critics are forgetting is the target market for these movies. The Transformer films are not for them (the critics) Its for the mid 20's-early 40 year olds who grew up emptying Hasbro boxes that now have kids themselves. Its re-marketing at its best! TRotF isn't after an Emmy. TRotF is after your wallets; whether through buying an action figure, a new car, or just a movie ticket. And in return offers a fun two and a half of some great eye candy. (....and Megan Fox in slow-mo isn't bad either.)

The only criticism I'd like to ad to the others already out there is, for as much as they amped up the photorealism on the CG, why doesn't the paint transfer from Transformer form to vehicle form? Look at Optimus and Bumble Bee. They are scratched to hell! (As they should be!) But in car form.... clean as a whistle.

...and because I am a fan....

BUMBLE BEE FTW!!! :D ...seriously, can we give him his voice back now? Love the choice of tunes for the situations. But he was Mr. Punchline from the original cartoons.

After dropping Sam off at college, his folks went to vacation in France. Which is where the Depecticons captured them. How long is a flight from France to Egypt?

This was an awesome movie untill Bay f***ed Devastator up. At least Sideswipe, my other favorite robot was badass in this movie. C'mon, metal balls at the pyramid??? He should've been tearing Autobots at the main fight. He should have won the whole fight singlehandedly!

; ;

ps - Movie is good, go see it anyways...

Hated it.

Only liked 3 parts. Prime fighting in the woods. Bumblebee fighting in the desert, and Prime fighting Fallen.

I'm sorry, you must be thinking of some other 1980s-era cartoon; one where the bad guys actually win.

M.A.S.K.? No, Venom always ran at the end too...

All I wanted was true Davastating force, but only got sand sucking. But at least Mojo and Sam's mom stole the movie. XD

...and Prime fighting Fallen.

THAT! ...was so short! D: Prime vs. Fallen should have been much longer.

For the forest fight, I was on the literally on the edge of the seat murmuring "yeah! get him! get him! hell yeah! hit him again!" That was the best fight in the whole movie. :D

This was an awesome movie untill Bay f***ed Devastator up.

When Devastator broke apart, I was disappointed the constructacons didn't pop up. But yeah, Sideswipe as a Stringray concept was good.

How are those funny reviews? Those were fucking terrible. The first guy seems like he should be on a bottle of Ritalin a day and well the over use of swears in the second one made me annoyed after 30 seconds.

I found that first review to be irritating, Ele. It wasn't even really a review, either. It was just a rapid plot synopsis by what appears to be someone hopped up on yellow jackets.

Thatguywiththeglasses normally has funny reviews. This one not so much.

Though to be honest he sort of encompassed the way the movie feels lol.
