Treasure of Aht Urhgan revealed

Well, at least if drg gets nothing at all with this new expansion we will know for certain that they have been utterly forsaken by SE.

A new level cap? I hope not.

Yeah. Theres no need for a new level cap, without first increasing availability of lv75 exp areas.

Plus you know, the crap ton of merits you can sink your teeth in to.

But yeah. BST != Blue Mage. In a PT, a BST can still dish damage out on it's own without using a pet. a Pet just helps.

Blue Mage will probably be extremely weak in melee(Not SMN weak, but RDM weak,) relying entirely on it's monster abilities for damage/utility.

Totally different play styles are not being the same job.

Look at FFV, had both Blue Mage and Beastmaster. Not that most of the kids here would've known that.

I'm implying it's going to be a waste of coding for SE, and time that would be better spent elsewhere. I'd rather them make more NM's, new JSE and AFs etc than spend time making a job that isn't going to be worth it and will probably just be a repackage for all those people who whined for a new job.

i dont see why most people are happy about expansions, when most NA havent even finished the first expansion.

but yeah i guess a few jobs and a few new xp areas that will be available for everyone are good.

My assumptions:

--This "BLU" (Since I have nothing better to call it) will have to raise it's "BLU Magery"/"Adapt" skill in order to learn certain level mob abilities.

--Can only do so while using a JA that has a cooldown of 5/10 minutes or so.

--Likewise can only learn/adapt any ability while under the effects of said JA.

--Usable abilities will be TP based.

--Some abilities may use less than 100% TP. Really nice abilities requiring 150%+ or 200%+

--Traits can probably include something along the lines of TP Conserve, and no TP lost while resting.

--Maybe a H2H inherent fighting job.

--2HR, something along the lines of the Samurai's 2HR. 300% TP, all Abilities TP cost halved and increased in potency 1.5x or something.

The AF quests, now those will be interesting. I see this job as another DD/Enfeebler/Support. A RDM of sorts that can't do what the RDM can specifically. But must melee or end up subbing SAM for TP gain. A TP Mage if you will.

LOL (it does look like a terrorist)

Oh man, ya I have to say, I really dont think that it's going to be Blue Mage. It does seem to use enemy attacks, but if you think about it. FFXI AFs have always been very reminicant of classical FF stylings of that job.

This AF (if it even is AF) doesn't look anything like what Blue Mages have been portrayed as looking like. I mean look at it. Blue mages never had a viel covering their face, and though some interpretations of Blue Mage do have it wearing a turban-like hat, if you ask me, the job in the video didnt even really have a turban type hat, or a blue pimp hat (which some Blue mages have worn.

I'm not really familiar with the geomancer look so I cant comment on that. But perhaps SE created a brand new job? That or they just opted to make Blue Mage (or whatever job it is) fit in with the expansion and make them appear more foreign.

meh

I believe the armor they have on are just gonna be a new set that is available thru that expansion, whether new recipes or bought or w/e.
I don't think that will be the AF. Also, Blue mage and BST werent useless in FFV, mighty/big guard w/e u wanna call it always helped.
Also white wind was always nice in the FF's its been in, and Strago's Grand train pwns. :P
Well if u think BST were useless in FFV, look at what they did wit BST in FFXI.
So if u think Blue mage were useless in FFV, just wait and see what they do with the job in FFXI before u assume, b/c the next expansion and new jobs are still months away.

Why cant I ever get these links to work? I just tried 'save as' and i get an error. does anyone know where i can take a look at the video?

The job in the video looks like a blue version of the chemist found in FF5.
