Twilight Princess

Jesus no wonder I had no clue what TooT was(fartlol), I was rackin my brain >.>; It's OoT you bastards.
I'll always consider Zelda to be an RPG series too, back in the NES days it was one of the first games to pave the way for the RPG world.
I think what determines an RPG more than anything is the storyline. If the game plays largely off of the story, if they're giving you new breaks in the stryline often enough, it can be considered an RPG. Like with Metroid, the story isn't that complex, you get an important cutsceen maybe half a dozen times throught the entire game, but for the most part your on your own just going through the levels.
I think too, up until the last several years, the battle system affected what we saw as RPG and not. If a game was turn-based, it was an RPG. But lately, with games like KH and XII, they're finding ways to break away from that while still retaining that RPG quality, so it's harder to determine whats what.

You also honestly believe marjiuana results in 0 deaths a year, so, your opinion is clearly flawed.

By the way, the original Zelda wasn't an RPG even by your storytelling ideals, even Zelda 2 would barely make the cut based on the actual exp/leveling system in it - it didn't really have much by way of cutscenes either. Mario 3 had more cutscenes, is that an RPG?

Tag, seriously, no one cares. I don't see what the big deal is besides the giant proverbial tree up your ass. Get it out and knock it off.

The ocarina of Time; basically the failure way to write OoT.

Ok, I love the fact that you get a horse in this one too, ridin that bitch around is fun times

You get the chance to get thrown off when hit by something while riding horse? When that happened to me i was holy shit that was badass lol but not running back to horse >>

Noticed one of the hogs that the moblins ride just standing there after I... er... relieved the rider of his head. I walk up thinking, "I wonder if I can ride this bitch?" Sure enough the little green button flips over to "get on" as I approach the side of the hog and away I go.

Kudos to Nintendo for letting you fight on horseback. Double kudos to them for letting you gank your ENEMIES' mounts (and then running over the little bastards).

I only wish you could kill the hogs so that the moblins couldn't climb back on top of them. Ooh... I wonder if a bomb arrow will do the trick?

That's another great thing about this game... Bombs + Arrows = Medieval Rocket-Propelled Grenade!!!! Is it a complete waste of rupees to take down moblins with bomb arrows? Yes, Yes it is. Is it hellaciously fun? Oh yeah.

Because every fucking game with any remote semblance of RPG elements, no matter how fucking small, is being labeled an RPG nowadays by everyone but the industry.

Genres exist for a reason; the labels are supposed to suggest what kind of content you can expect.

When games as radically different as Zelda and Dragon Quest both get called RPGs, that kinda kills the entire purpose of the genre labels.

In Zelda's case it seems like people forgot the term 'Adventure' even exists... and then half the time those same people will turn around and go, "what happened to all the adventure games?" - "NUH UH, Zelda's an RPG!!!"

Let it go Tag.

So a few days ago I got the ability to turn from wolf to human at will now, shit's gonna get harder in the dungeon levels >.>; It's pretty cool though, I was hopin they would do that actually. And now that you can warp anywhere anytime there's not much need for the horse =/ which sucks, I was hoping I would have to depend on the horse for travel in this one, just cause it's so much fun.
I was surprised too when I got the spinner, as far as I can remember that's a damn original item in the Zelda series, those only show up once a decade. Also the implementation of the bomb/arrow is awesome, that was the one thing missing from WW, I was waiting for it to show up again.

I dunno. If someone was referencing day old cheese, and seriously called it prime rib, wouldn't you try and correct them?

Cool thing I found in TP.

Kill a moblin type enemy and sheath your sword before the corpse goes away... Link will do his Cloud-esque sword flip move.

It's not just moblins, but some of the "harder" enemies I think. I didn't really find a pattern when I played through, but I wasn't exactly paying that much attention to it either.

I was rackin my brain to try and figure out what triggered that cause it's badass. I'm pretty sure it's whenever you use one on or kill one with a hidden skill that you get from the skeleton/wolf man.

And I think I'm at the last dungeon, the twilight castle, anyone confirm?
Also, do the gay ass bomblings have any purpose beyond taking up bomb bag space? A fun toy, but useless altogether.

This game has really shocked me, I was actually surprised, that's right folks, surprised several times throughout my gameplay. Zelda games are as predictable as Peregrine's flame baiting, there's rarely ever a surprise in them. But for instance, in the token ice dungeon there's ice blocks blocking off paths, so I'm thinking, ok, they'll give me a fire based weapon to melt em like they always do, fire wand, fire arrows, etc, but no, I get this big badass ball and chain thing *shocked*. There were one or two other things I was surprised at(5 pieces to a full heart? wierd), but this game overall has been one of the most original Zelda's I've played in a looong time, and one of the best.

And Tag, Zelda may be an adventure, but you still haven't told us what makes an RPG.
