UFO kidnap an Photographer who took a pic of "UFO" ship

Not everything in science is theory. There are plenty of facts proven through scientific method. Theories are logical explianations that cannot be proven as fact, for one reason or another(i.e. we're missing something, or are physically unable to recreate or observe it.)
Well, yes and no. You can never prove science. As I said, proving something only proves its correct under those very conditions. You can disprove science, but you can't prove it. One can argue that math can be proven, which is correct. Math by itself is not science, though, its a tool used by scientists. If math were proven to be incorrect, a large majority of science would fall apart.

I can't think of many things proven through science. Evolution is only a theory which is supported through various findings and observations, it isn't proven. While it is called the law of gravity, gravity by itself can't directly be proven to be correct in ALL situations, as all situations are impossible to observe. It is merely supported by observation and findings.

btw, it is unethical for a scientist to change various variables until it fits his theory. This is a good example on why science don't struggle to prove things right, but instead struggle to disprove itself.
I must strongly disagree with Uzor's statement that science is a religion, though. They're very different animals. They may arise from the desire to understand our world, but the ways they go about it are diametrically opposed. The scientific method is based, among other things, on observation of the natural world, experimentation and being able to replicate results.

Religion is based on interpretation of "revelations" that may or may not exist entirely in one person's mind and can never be replicated. You just have to trust the person who says they're getting messages from the gods. They could be flying high on LSD or deliberately misleading you about what they experienced.
I never said science is religion, and if I did, I appologize. I said that they are based on the same fundamentals. Yes, science is based on observation, but s both you and I said, the reason they exist is due to our desire to understand the world. The very base of both science and religion is based upon theories, and believing that those theories are true. The largest difference is that religion is the same, and is based on things that are almost impossible to disprove. Science, however, is a struggle to constanty disprove itself. This is why, in my oppinion, science is more likely to be correct then religion, as science evolves and changes.

I never said you were forcing people to come here. Infact I pretty much said the opposite in that you are forcing people AWAY from here, more or less by posting a bunch of bull shit information that you, and only you, seem to know as fact, and yet everyone else thinks your fucking crazy.

Isn't this thread about E.T.'s ?

RaidrX said:
You post things as fact, and yet I don't think i've ever seen you give resources or back up your "facts" other than throwing more roundabout questions at people or taking there statements in the completely wrong direction so it benefits your shitty argument.

Show me 1 example.

I posted my reasons for believing upon request. "My reasons for believing" What i personally conclude from my gathering cannot be presented as fact. It required for me to have a mind set while researching this stuff. There are other details I've collected about E.T.s that would take up several pages. I will not write it for this group, pretty much for the reasoning behind you and others here.

And sure your free to post in threads just as everyone else, but fuck man, you don't have to type up 8 paragraph long thesis on the 3 E.T life forms of our galaxy in EVERY post. I open these threads and i'm like "oh shit ant made 7 more tl;dr posts AGAIN, guess ill skip this thread now...

So basically you don't even know what i wrote, you just assume that i made tl;dr posts. I see.

Also I completely disagree w/ you that you don't want to argue. Its completely your doing...

Let me break it down for you.

- This thread is about E.T.'s ( I can't talk about them here ?)
- People we wondering what an Alien encounter would be like ( I can't elaborate on that with what i study ? )
- It's been asked in wonder what that the Aliens must think of us and our entertainment ( I answer again. Seriously, they can fly down here, but we can't fly over there. They know as much as we do about us. Even more.)
- I have Tristam Green on my ass, in every topic we come across. Not just this. Yet I'm th bad guy right ?
- I have you on my ass, casting Insults and shit, and you don't even read the posts. (Or you do, you just like to say how it repels you and how i am ruining the post for others.

This is about UFO's. It's not for everyone. if you can't stand it, stay out.

btw, just thought I'd mention it since you still have them confused. The mesoamerican callendar is NOT exact. It's a simple 365 day callendar. The Mayan callendar is the exavt one, and only the long-count callendar, as it combines their callendars, which is what makes them so exact. The mesoamerican callendar is not "amizingly accurate".

Anyway, lunchbreak is over, and posting from my Ipod sucks...

Isn't this thread about E.T.'s ?

What does that have anything to do with what you quoted?

Show me 1 example.

And how do you suppose i do that. Quote all the times you didn't give a link or reference? Sorry, but i'm not gonna go back through all your posts and basically quote all of them.

Well thats all fine an dandy if you arent trying to run them by as true or facts. Its just posts like this: http://www.qcdn.org/ffxi/showpost.php?p=854092&postcount=21 and other posts you've made that have the tone of "This is the way it is". Maybe next time you could start a post like that off with "It's my opinion that..." or "I believe this...".

So basically you don't even know what i wrote, you just assume that i made tl;dr posts. I see.

Lol, do i even need to say anything to this? Well here i'll be nice and help you out ant. First let me ask, do you even know what tl;dr mean? From what you said there i'm assuming you don't. tl;dr mean "To long; didn't read" so when i say your posts are tl;dr then yes youre exactly right, I didn't read them because they are to fucking long.

Ant, you obviously completely missed the entire point of my post. Let ME break it down for you, I could give 2 shits less about your beliefes on aliens. Shit I don't care if you think I am an alien. What I'm trying to say is you need to stop killing threads about w/e (ps3s aliens what have you) with your 2000 word posts and random going on abouts that have no basis, and yet you sell it for fact.

Now I can't speak for everyone on QCDN, but when i open a thread such as this, and see three pages of your long ass posts it just completely kills the thread. I dont want to spend 45 mins reading your bs. But obviously from other peoples posts, and the rate ups i've been getting i'm not the only one who feels this way.

Anyone else notice that when someone on QCDN constantly proves someone else wrong that they have a grudge against them?

Yes

Anttaru, your claims, wild as they are, have no substantiated proof. I think there is life beyond the Milky Way, but it is so hard to read your replies because you take it all so personal, provide only heresay dialogue, and use politician-like diversion strategies to attack people that provide counter arguments.

Do E.T.s exist? I think so. Do I think Humans are experiments? Well, I guess we could be, but on that I am not going to dwell. We could just be a freak occurrence. Frankly, I hope we aren't alone, but that is only because I love me some Star Trek.

Never said it was. You should quote me when saying that.

I already mentioned in this thread that the Mesoamerican calendar evolved into the Mayan calendar. Still the Mesoamerican version has 12 planets in the correct order. And since we're focusing on Sumerian culture (which is more ancient than the Mayans) I'll bring up the fact they've known about the planets, without the aid of high powered telescopes or rockets that orbit the earth.

Secondly. Science is not comprised purely of theory. Theory remains but an opinion until it can be proven. When a Theory is proven, we call it science. What we call science is the explanation of what we know for sure. Not what we're unsure of.

Food is science, what we're made up of is science, and technology is science.

It's not really a matter of trying to prove anything. It's more about looking into the past and placing judgment on what's happening today.

The big question is. Does anyone believe there are UFO sightings ? They are on the news, they are happening around the world, seen by masses. The Phoenix lights was seen by a huge chunk of the city. Even the Governor of Phoenix later came out and said the lights that levitated in formation was unknown to us. We have air pilots stating to have seen flying machines that defy logic and challenge their reality. Between now and then and even before, that event, it's happened several times by the thousands.

It takes courage for some people to face skepticism, The ones who claim to have been abducted feel the downpour of skeptics the worst. I've heard of comedians loosing their jobs because they believe in Aliens.

It's not that I'm trying to force this on anyone. I'd be happier to discuss this with people who are more open minded to that fact that, There really are UFO's being covered in the news, it's more likely our ancestors obtained knowledge from intergalactic beings than having the technology to fly into space and spot dwarf planets, plus make a calendar which specifies each day for thousands of years accurately. Seriously making one from scratch does require over 5,000 years without a computer, plus there is the fact they cannot see all the planets with the naked eye. The Sumerian's say their Gods taught them about the heavens.

The recovered tablets is evidence, the evolved Mesoamerican calendar is also evidence, without going into more detail unless requested, the great pyramids are evidence. None of which is proof enough. It's our own mind set that disables us from being able to debunk these riddles. I don't suggest everyone should believe in it as i do. But to say the least one should offer a good explination as opposed to knocking down note worthy content.

As for the political nature of this thread.

- I fail to step down from ridicule. Only because i require logical explanation to the exhibits i provide, as opposed to being smacked around with no answer.

- There's Tristam, who has proven to attack me from time to time regardless the topic. His Avatar makes it obvious he wishes to provoke me into battle. Yet this seems to fly over everyones heads. I'll continue to say Oil caused a population boom, and it paved the way for modern day technology. He doesn't think so. Not to be rude but damn, what the hell is an oil crisis ?

- Uzor and i debate all the time. The argument varies. I'll continue to say Science is not comprised of theory. Science is everything we understand, from rocks to the latest technology.

- Raidx is just pummeling me, probably because i recently scolded him in a video game thread. Before that I've never had a problem with him. He's continued to label me tl;dr which is a very close minded way of speculating the topic of discussion. ( I've been very tolerant, your loosing me bro. )

- I have people asking me question as to what i am referring to, so i say what it is. It later results in blame on my account ? I seriously thought this thread was about UFO's. It was even originally posted in "Reality sinks in". Opinion suggests the video was not aired on real national television. Fear can be so subliminal I think.

- Skaw denying the accuracy of the Mayan Calendar and dismissing it's predictions as some form of myth or magic ? It's all Math. The source of origin is truly mysterious. Wouldn't you agree ? Or can't you agree ?

Me defending my word is all i can do. No fighting is necessary. But let it be known. What i do in this thread, is "outside the box" A place where people are afraid to go, for the very reason of the type of feedback i receive here. The people who do travel outside of the jar, are the ones who make discoveries. The world needs to open their eyes and know, all possibilities are not contained inside. When Man tried to fly, no one in that modern society would consider them. They were labeled as freaks. For anything, it's best to set mind, as opposed to being linear. If the majority wasn't so linear. We would advance much quicker.

I don't wish for the existence of some E.T.'s. I haven't even scratched the surface in terms of writing what they are doing to us and what their goals are. I feel i should but i will not. Anyone interested can look it up, and those who are not can simply not read what i write. This is good advice.

Yes, it is. Science is theory. Once again, science is a struggle to disprove theories. The Big Bang theory is science. The String Theory is science. They are not proved, but they are still science.

Science cannot claim absolute knowledge of nature or the behavior of the subject or of the field of study due to epistemological problems that are unavoidable and preclude the discovery or establishment of absolute truth. Unlike a mathematical proof, a scientific theory is empirical, and is always open to falsification, if new evidence is presented. Even the most basic and fundamental theories may turn out to be imperfect if new observations are inconsistent with them. Critical to this process is making every relevant aspect of research publicly available, which allows ongoing review and repeating of experiments and observations by multiple researchers operating independently of one another. Only by fulfilling these expectations can it be determined how reliable the experimental results are for potential use by others.
Physical law said:
scientific law, or a law of nature is a scientific generalization based on empirical observations of physical behavior. Empirical laws are typically conclusions based on repeated scientific experiments and simple observations, over many years, and which have become accepted universally within the scientific community. The production of a summary description of our environment in the form of such laws is a fundamental aim of science.

Anyone that actually read about science or are otherwise involved in science knows that science is based on theories and not facts as some people seem to think. Attempting to prove a theory serves no purpose whatsoever in the world of science. Any scientist claiming to have found proof that his theory is correct will be laughed at. He can find something to support his theory, which can be a major breakthrough, but stating you have proof is laughable.

Leave my tinfoil hat out of this; it blocks out the bad waves.

Oil didn't spark population booms, two World Wars, a major shift in population numbers due to massive atrocities, thousands of horny sailors, soldiers and airmen who'd been away from home for years and years fighting wars, and global shifts in economical power....those created a population boom.

Fear can be so subliminal I think.
I think you have a limited grasp on what fear is.

Here's the bottom line.

*edit*
I am highly skeptical that you have, as you so excessively and eloquently put, "experienced the major religions" yourself, because that would really take more than three or four lifetimes. Anyone belonging to a major religion (Scientology exempted) would argue that growing in faith is a daily event; ever-changing with new experiences and tests/temptations around every corner.

I only have any kind of grudge against you as you question not just mine, but anyone's beliefs who are any different from your own. You pretend to know people who disagree with you, and feel as if you can speak either on their behalf or about them as if they live next to you.

I have a major problem with it, and I always will.

You Lie. I oppose demoting peoples beliefs. I've expressed it before, and not once have i questioned someones belief with the intent to undermine it. If you can find a time and place where i did this, then go and get it and show us. Other words your lie will surface. (As it will)

Most pleasant. She even looks into what I'm saying, instead of knowing nothing and dropping insults. I commend her open mindedness.Like everyone else, she needn't believe, but in that case it's best to leave a channel open for the possibility.

Tristam Green said:
Let me one thing straight then. If to you, where a lack of fondness is not equating to an utter dislike, what then does it equate to? Ambivalence? If so, you really have a strange way of showing ambivalence to other people.

Emotionally there are many shades, not just black and white. I try me best to keep the worst of you within the lighter side of the scale, this is all done by choice. Despite how people register to me, I make the effort to keep them in a more positive shade. Putting people in a negative shade will indeed drive one into the ground. Enlightenment can only be achieved with positive energy. You burden me, but on the other hand our will needs to be put to the test, in order to achieve a stronger one. That, of coarse depends.

Tristam Green said:
I'll bold this, and enlarge it so it sinks in.

THE PREVIOUS STATEMENT SHOWS EXACTLY HOW LITTLE YOU KNOW ABOUT EITHER MYSELF OR STINE.

Neither of us shield the other; it's a companionship, not a matter of protection. Stine's a big girl, and as such she can and does regularly fight her own battles. Same with me. Nobody keeps anyone in check, so stop acting like you have us figured out.

In this case, she is the shield and you are the sword. Naturally i have no intention of breaking the one she loves, which would be you. Who has been attacking me for some time now.

Show me how close you are to her and I'll forget about dealing with your case. Focus on flaming me, and I'll cash in and destroy you to the best of my abilities. Whatever guilt i feel from it should only be temporary. Now show us how sharp you are.

Everything.

Science revolves around theories, nothing else.

It's a good read and more flexible to possibilities than what scientists express. Very different than the ways scientists live cause they can be fired for not abiding from the written laws. and they do laugh at new discoveries.

Here's one

Science is an intellectual activity carried on by humans that is designed to discover information about the natural world in which humans live and to discover the ways in which this information can be organized into meaningful patterns. A primary aim of science is to collect facts (data). An ultimate purpose of science is to discern the order that exists between and amongst the various facts.

The discovery of new technology comes in the form of theory. When it's been manifested it's still science. Scientific facts exist in physical proof, not in Theory alone.

This type of skepticism is very real, and is negative on the advancement of our civilization.

The type of people that make 3D software are scientists. 3D software like all software and even hardware is called computer science.

A science project, is not complete with a physical example stating the fact of the subject. How modern technology works can only be explained through science.

If you ever stop off in Toronto you should visit the Ontario Science Center.

If science disproves itself is that like dividing by zero?

Well, it really was stretching the definition of "reality."

in reality i'm laughing very hard, also excal there was a report years ago that there was bacteria discovered on mars but that's as far as we see so far...

also the first society to use money were the Lindians...

Also I believe in the possibility of extra-terrestial but not to the extent Antman is talking...
