It doesn't really matter how we look at the list and if we see her as a slut or not. Kids in highschool will see her as a slut for having a list like that.

Exactly. Having a healthy sexual appetite does not dictate that you have to fuck a certain amount of guys within a year or two, its not having targets on a Fucklist: Deadline. Its not treating people solely as a pleasure object: only if he gets a haircut. This not about love, compassion or personal relationships. This is month-to-month/weekly switches which isn't really even advisable for adults. MEN are looked down upon by people for making switches too fast sometimes and this is a young girl.

Look at the writing on that page. How old would you assume that person is? Rarely did I ever see someone around 17-18/19 write little hearts and friggin rainbows on their papers with huge hearts and obsessive "I WILL BE ANYTHING HE WANTS" obsessive young girl comments on it. However, in 14-16 year olds... pretty prevalent. I have not seen this girls age posted anywhere, so I'm not making the assumption that this is an 18 year old young lady like some of you are. I'm going with the fact that sexual experimentation is starting WAY younger than it used to, there are horrible reports about it ALL over the country. I'm also going on the fact that no older teenage child would write something like that down, someone young and naive might. Maybe someone who is really heavily feeling the peer preassure and the lust to be popular or well-liked and noticed, not on the outer fringes of a transient society about to take off for college.

(All fun aside, I feel sorry for the girl. She is looking for attention and needs to find more productive outlets to define herself. I sense much regret in the future. And for those of you who think this incident will not scar her, you are wrong. Being grounded for having beer is no where near in the same league as this, no matter how "slutty" she may be... no matter how delicious that beer would have been.)

And really most of the regret will likely come from self reflection. Some can't be saved.

Think of the double standard this way:
A key that can open any lock is called the master key, and it's pretty cool to have. A lock that opens to any key is a pretty shitty lock, that nobody wants.

Anyhoo. I'll say on topic that she got what she deserved for putting a DEADLINE on cashing in her V-Card. I certainly had some goals in mind growing up, but I never cemented them on paper or anything, and actually have passed up sure things in order to wait for the right thing on several occasions. And I'm very glad I did, it was more special for the wait.

E- just to throw in there, it's not far fetched to have seen teenage girls doodle on the inside and outside of the binders who they '<3' and so on. Times have changed and our media has certainly played a large part in making it cool for women to be 'strong, independant and regret free' of all the one nights stands they choose to have.

Yeah it's okay for adults to make these decisions, but it's targeted at the younger age groups. Needless to say it's no surprise the doodles have now become bj/fuck/v-cards lists rather than the love tests of my generation. Still doesn't make what her brother did any classier (not that her ratting him out was cooler either), that list wasn't doodled on a binder but stashed somewhere in the girls bedroom.

I don't think she's a slut for having a list at all. Its people she find attractive and wouldn't mind having sex with, its no different than writing in your diary that you think someone is hot, and then writing in the diary that you had sex with them.

If I were one of those guys, I'd be flattered tbh. Of course its quite embarrasing for her ot have the list revealed, as for some stupid reason today's women are supposed to be "pure and clean".

Women enjoy sex just as muh as men, and sex is something natural. Why should women be embarrased of sex? Why should women avoid having sex? Its only considered "slutty" because that's how people with old standards view it. Its no more slutty than a guy having sex.

If she SOLD sexual favors (like, I'll give you a blowjob if you give me a pack of cigarettes), that would be something completely different. But as I do not think that is the case here, I have to disagree with her being slutty.
 
Deadline or not, who's to say that she was actually going to act on everything on that list?
I know I've made some New Year Resolutions and I probably broke them on the first week lol. (Which is why I don't make them anymore, but I digress)

Let's say she's still in highschool. How many couples actually lasted longer than a week?
I know in my highschool, they seldom lasted over a few days, let alone a week or month.
Why?
Maybe its out of curiosity, or they don't like the other person anymore. The reasons were in fact...rather dry. It may be shallow to some but that was the reality back then for me. Has it changed since I was a teenager? Most likely not a whole lot.

If she used her gender and her gestures in a questionable way to get what she wants, then yes, even I would probably not hesitate to call her a slut. She should take care of herself more, emotionally and physically.

Hormones do rage through any teenager's body. Some act on the sexual aspect, some don't. Are they wrong in their choices? If done responsibly, I would say no.
