I think then it would be used as more of a way to run away from a mob. At least if you're prepared, and not in a dungeon. Which is like...altepa...

if a mob is attacking you, you can't use mazurka, it wears off when you're attacked (i think)

The second you perform an action on a mob or a mob performs an action on you mazurka wears. This inclues a missed attack, or a spell landing (if mob casts a spell but you get out of range in time it doesn't count) So apart from Lullaby > Mazurka there isn't that great of a use for it.

as RDM/BLM I have 996 MP, as RDMWHM I have roughly 984 I believe. as WHM/SMN I have 1149. RDM and WHM MP pool are fairly simular with the right gear =/ So I honestly don't see how you have WAY more O.o; Hell, I even have 800 MP or so as RDM/NIN

NOt to mention we can double up our MP at any time its needed, but WHM's have to /heal, I only rest like 10-15 times in a standard Merit PT. out of like chain 140-160 usally.

Uh guys, WHM's die countless times in endgame. If you zomgrdm people never invite them, I can see WHM's saying "fuck it".

Welcome to the world of pld.

I don't know why people complain so much about AMII. If anything like it's predecessor, it'll do high damage for large amounts of MP which isn't all that great for exp, but for instance battles is very useful when used properly. Considering the "nerf" with NMs gaining increased resistance, you want to do huge amounts of damage in a single strike BEFORE the resistance becomes an issue. What better option than AM? Seriously. AM at level 50 makes any spell prior to that point look like a joke. 300+ (500 -ga) damage spells compared to a spell that does 900+? Who cares about MP consumed or down time when the fight is all about spike damage? Now BLMs will get AMII which if it follows the same trend as AMI, will do close to 2k damage unbursted. I don't know about you, but on end game content, that's nothing to complain about when it's bursted (although I don't have a clue how bad hate will become an issue on this).

Actually, I was thinking, what if SE threw the BLM community a curve ball? What if the spell isn't huge damage, but instead average to high damage for small amounts of MP? Kind of like you've mastered all the prior spells, now you are better at conserving MP and such so you can do the same spells for less MP. Just a random thought.

After obtaining the dragoon job trait "Empathy," you will be able to use the job ability "Spirit Link" even when your wyvern is at maximum HP.
This sounds like it might cure status effects, if anyone cares about loldrg.

AMII better either reduce resistance by a ton, or do a boatload of damage. because it looks like it'll just be a thundaga III with more mp cost.

I wouldn't cry about that at all.

You'll never use a spell that isn't even in the game yet, nor has anyone tested? :???:

Unless AM2 is way cheaper w/ a shorter cast time and does more damage, I'm not about to put 3 merits into it when I can save them for another job. I mean when was the last time you've seen BLMs use AM's in either xp sessions or endgame fights? They're horrible at 70+ since teir 4 magic does about as much for less mp and a faster cast time.

Considering this IS SE, I really dont have the greatest expectations for AM2.

All the AMII spells costs 457 MP to cast, and all of the new blood pacts costs 212 MP to cast.

So I'm hoping it'll be good damage. Quite honestly, the Jailer's version of AMII kind of sucks =/

Lavi you've made some good points. I'm just dissappointed because I was thinking back to when I got AM, and really I almost never used it except for on the rabbits outside Jeuno. However, if it's more like what you've said, it may be worth the merits.

Woah! I'm missing all the good stuff! Where do you see that it costs 457 mp? Has that been datamined already somehow?

Oh, and PLDs tank, not NINs, so they're gonna love the extra defense.

Kinda. Those have been in the system for a long time since mobs can cast them, but players couldn't. Whether the player version is the same or different has yet to be seen.

They've been in the files for ages, with joke MP numbers so that mobs have something to work with. All that stuff gets changed when it comes out for players.

True, it is SE, but they aren't as inept as we make them out to be sometimes :P
I'm sure they see AM1 rotting away in a corner, and they see the reasons for it. Besides, nothing dictates that AM2 has to be EXACTLY similar to AM1. My guess would be something worthwhile in EXP, yet still useful endgame even with the nerf. (High MP cost, cast time a little shorter than AM1, more damage/the same damage as high tier BLM spells, but with a much higher accuracy, more full damage on higher level mobs, more resistance down, perhaps?)

Anyway, sorry for the babbling, I just wouldn't be so quick to toss something completely new out the window.

I think he's talking about the versions that already existed in the game as mob only. They could very well be changed before being given to us.

I know not many people care about bst(except TheFlock and myself:) but what do you think our abilities will do?

Still haven't figured them out

I won't debate that some shells use NIN to greater effect. But the fact is, a ton of shells use PLDs for stuff. And for that matter, SE wants people to use PLDs for stuff. Phalanx II (going by its animation, looks like Phalanxga) and Protect V should help PLD immensely.
