Just finished watching the German trailer as well. Again there are some differences, not that big though. Still I wonder where those come from.

To give Uzor's theory another point, let's look at two lines of the German version:

EN:
"But do our stories end once the ink has dried?"
"Are the echoes of history all that remain of the past?"

GER:
"Doch die uns bekannte Realität..."
"...ist die Zukunft einer bereits vergessenen Vergangenheit."

Translation:
"But the reality we know..."
"...is the future of an already forgotten past."

"Already forgotten" might indicate something we have no clue about yet.

There are 2 more lines worth mentioning:

"Tales of adventure"
"Tales of sorrow"

GER:
"Eine Welt der Herausforderungen..."
"...an den Grenzen zum Chaos."

Translation:
"A world of adventure/challenge..."
"...on the edge to chaos."

So yeah, "edge to chaos"? Are we?

Anyway its all speculation for now. French, Japanese anyone? <.<

To add to this does anyone speak French? I am curious if these tie to each other, and they drop hints of story line in each language.
 
I expect it'll be some sort of time portal to take you back to either before the Crystal War or possibly during it.

I also wouldn't be overly surprised to see a couple new jobs including Time Mage show up from this. It kinda makes sense after all... Someone makes some sort of magical breakthrough, the beastmen steal it, now adventurers have to go back into the past to prevent the beastmen from winning the war.

This is a great premise for a new expansion. Better yet if you could like, change things you did wrong in the past (like allow me to DO FRIKING DM AGAIN TO GET A SUPPA!).
 
I've heard rumblings from the SE Party saying SE was gonna make it so you could potentially exchange your DM ear for another one in the future(quite possibly the June version update), if so maybe CoP rings and AN ears follow suit.

This was during the Q&A where fans sent some questions beforehand to the Dev team and it was answered later.

Babelfish Translation is meh, but mentions the "ears of God's dignity", so here's a more understandable answer.

SE's A: This is planned for June VU. We are also discussing the same thing for the "other quests". (Apocalypse High, CoP mission ring?)

So... did you notice too? No? The great big blue star/meteorite that flickers quite brightly during the trailer, i understand, this is nowhere else to be seen right? It appears in all night time shots and on the main website too, seems like there is some kinda enthasis on this? No? Maybe its always been there? Maybe its a UFO? Maybe its a star containting all the Beastmen read to invade? No no no? Then what is it? :biggrin:

Simply yes we noted the meteor before. LOL at UFO theory.

Uh not really? That is a meteor clearly as there is a blue light around it. If you ever watch something falling towards earth it tends to be redish, but if it is just going through one layer of atmosphere it'll just burn a blue white color from the gases surrounding.
 
Considering the shot of the Orcs in battle armor up somewhere, I doubt that the meteor hold the beastmen.
In an unrelated note, FFVIII's backstory for the origin of the monsters is horrible.

Honestly looking back I can't say I agree with Xalioniaf. It made for some very interesting cut scenes and the such. Anyway, something (I don't remember what) triggers the "monsters" that dwell on the moon to all meet/collect in a single area, and eventually pretty much shoot themselves down to the planet in what appears like a beam of sorts. The first time it happened (and the subsequent time) the landing was at the place where you can get doomtrain. If I remember right the event had large connections with that big flying thing which makes its appearance near the end of the game - what I want to call pandora's box but I don't think that's the name.

This is a comet .. a meteor stay only a couple of seconds in the atmosphere and move quickly.
