User Reputation now online

same... I only see everyone with one and they all say the same thing XD does this mean we are gonna start looking like Alakhazam? >.>
 
Considering that it was just implemented, give it a couple weeks and you'll see people with different amounts.
 
How do I rate up or down someones post/or them?
 
all I wanna know is how do I bomb the shit out of Peregrine? Not like he needs it anyhow... hurrah for a rating system, sounds like fun!

Edit: My mad admin powers give me 10 point rating power, meaning if I were to rate someone, it would be a 10 point hit either way. I am just going to stay out of rating things.

This *could* be a good idea, or it *could* turn into the reason I never got an account at Allakazham. If it discourages trolls, I'm all for it. If it discourages thinking outside the box, or any sort of game related free speech, like Allakazham, then it should be abolished. Unless I missed something, it doesn't seem like people's posts can be rated so low that they aren't visible, like Allakazham's system. One of the reasons this place is so great is that you can post a FFXI theory that's not the current norm, and you won't be punished for it. People might present facts to correct you if need be, but that's how it should be. Anyway, I'm all for making trolls a thing of the past. I hope this does such.
 
Well the rating has no real effect on anything. Meaning no posts will disappear, no users be banned or anything like that.
I guess it's more a reference of sorts for those who read the post to consider the posters reputation when they form their opinion based on the posts content. Not sure if it will work out in the end, will keep an eye on it and remove it if it doesn't work out well.
 
FFXIonline.com has this same system, but it also shows the reputation # in addition to the bars under the avatar. However, they have had it for several months and most everyone is still at one bar. Maybe they just didn't fully impliment it. Negative ratings won't make your posts disappear, it just causes a growth of red box instead of green (at least on other forums). Could be good, could be very abused.

I'm not a fan of this part of the system. This is like up-rating someone based on them shouting in Jeuno more than another.^^
 
Ok, if I click the little link, I am adding points to them? How do I take away their points? I mean there is one button, it says "Add to so and so's rep". I wanna take away sometimes...
 
click that rep button then there's a "I disapprove" and "I approve" choices :P make one :D
 
i rated skulli up and it asked me why and i said bc it smells like beans kthx

I dont get that option. Im maybe using a wrong skin? or Firefox?
 
Ahhh, did some of my own tests, it doesnt work in I-Bulletin Blue, which is what I use.
 
Doesn't work in BP-Brown either
