Valkyria Chronicles

There could be a sequel, if they kept the majority of the same assets it'd be pretty cheap to make. Also realize, it did pretty decent in Japan. I think most of the people who played the first wouldn't mind them churning out a sequel that was essentially an expansion with multiplayer added on.

Chapter 16

Spoiler:
Good god. Don't blow up any of the explosives that you don't have too. Only blow up the ones that cause landslides that will divert the huge tank the way you want it to go. I've blown every single one and I'm just skipping turns, waiting for the damn thing to get to me so I can win the stage.

Bah an easy A turned into a D.

What I don't get. PS3 fans have been screaming for more RPG's and we get this beauty...but no one buys it. Best RPG this gen for me outside of Mass Effect.

It sold so bad, it's being discontinued already. Glad I got my copy.

Wait seriously?

Wait seriously?

On a couple forums it was stated as rumors. After checking around it seems it might be true. Best Buy once they run out, won't be getting anymore copies. Same for the Gamestop here.

Well that sucks. Seriously...

Wow. That is a shame. It is such a great game.

Gamestop has this on sale for $30. If you don't have this game yet and that price isn't enough to sell you on it... straight up, you're an asshole.

QFT. Every PS3 owner must buy this game because it is the kind of game that you don't see very often from Sega of all companies!

Indeed. It's one of the best games Sega has made. It deserved more recognition.

Not even in the top ten sega created games... Too far Gerry... lol

Anyways the game is a very unique experience but it is completely understandable it didnt sell well. Quality of game doesnt run with sales of game so tightly anymore..

Disgea doesnt sell like hot cakes but is an insane quality rpg.. Same thing happens to VC here i think, more of a niche game. It sucks if its being discontinued though because the fanclub atmosphere will never be able to shape up for VC;;

I only played through VC at a friends house so i will be picking up my copy for personal keeping today.

VC2 would be great, with online. It'd suit PSN well too, since it'd be 1 on 1, so no headsets needed. It'd be fun to go online to level up too instead of replaying skirmishes. Could even have a ranking system to keep fights from getting one sided.

Oh yeah and with Disgaea... well at least they keep their production budgets low. I'm actually glad Disgaea 3 looked barely better than a PS2 game. It means they made a profit and it means there can be Disgaea 4.

Meh, it's leaps and bounds better than anything else they've ever done. Before this the best thing they ever did was either 2D Sonic which was so-so at best or the PS series which is also so-so.

I agree here lol. VC was one of the best titles Sega has ever done.

Sonic was so-so to you and i am supposed to respect your opinion here? lol... Sega has made up to about 20 games that will forever be remembered as classics and were gems at their time. VC is a great game but i wouldnt put it up there... Appearently the public doesnt either... Its being discontinued bro lol.

Too each their own. Best thing they've ever done, by a landslide for me.

So true with the first part. It falls in the top 15 from sega for me lol.

As far as discontinuin' a game goes; Atlus, NIS, and Bandai often do this to their games as well. You can't really call a game anything for this. As far as I've seen they've taken the Atlus approach on this title, as well as their more recent titles. It's why Atlus, despite bein' a niche developer, does so well. Puttin' this game in the same market of Disgaea 3 (which would have to be the target market), it outsold it. These are world numbers: D3 -.21 mil, VC -.37mil. So for the target market, it's a beast. I think the numbers would be hella higher for both games had they not been exclusive to the PS3.

Incoming DLC to Europe:

LONDON (8th April, 2008) – SEGA Europe Ltd. today announced that the downloadable content for Valkyria Chronicles™ will be available on PSN for download for £3.19 or €3.99 each on 16th April.
Details on the new downloadable content:
• Hard EX Mode – fight your way through the entire Imperial army, where the enemies are more lethal and your main tank Edelweiss is unavailable. You’ll have to be more strategic in order to overcome your opponents.

• Edy’s Mission “Enter the Edy Detachment” – six members have been separated from Squad 7 and on their journey to reunite with their squad, they stumble upon a tiny village under attack by the Imperial Army. Play as Edy and command your outnumbered team to defend the small village from annihilation.

• Selvaria’s Mission “Behind Her Blue Flame”– Taking place right after the outbreak of Gallian battle lines, you play as Johann, a young and meek engineer assigned to Selvaria’s troop. See the action as it unfolds behind enemy lines and experience the war play out through the eyes of the enemy.

Kickass. Especially Selvaria's mission.

Hits tomorrow for the U.S. Been waitin' to long for this, but we all know how SEGA likes to treat everyone not in Japan.
