can't mnks do the same thing pretty much, i know wars can, i got leech in a war cannon, 9k an hour with my drk/thf

PS Wars, i got two axes and nin sub, invite me :D 74DRK

Damn Meeze. Bonus respect points from me. Not many DRKs bother with Axe, despite getting a good skill level with it.

my skill comes from using Fransicsa on my RNG pre-nerf with all the melee'n i could do, combined with rng acc attributes i leveled it pretty quick.

Still. Most people overlook Axe on DRK.

Now level Great Axe. Steel Cyclone!

Ahem... first off...

1. Endgame is fast kills to the point that it is nothing comparably to what fights are like level 70. Chain 11 on Ts in sky do not impress me Wolfskymoon, chain 6 on ITs for 300+ xp does impress me.

2. Skaw you have full gear from sky. I do too but that consists of 1 drop off Genbu. Sky = Nearly all for Melees. Wait til we start to seriously farm sea and mages get some endgame gear worth a damn.
-I'm not bitching pointlessly that you have an advantage, I'm merely saying Osode, Haidates, ext are great for merit XP but you didn't have that kind of power at level 1-74 people don't actually EXP(not merit) with that.

3. You may have an edge over in in the tomb on bones(wow, there are what... 2 exp camps in the entire game with bones and they are both level 65+?). BLM can consistantly perform well against all monsters in the game except pots, which... there's what... 1 XP location in the entire game for pots? Fight a bone with a RNG or a crab with a MNK and they come crying home to mama about how it's the wrong weapon for the wrong mob, or how their weaponskill does 12 points of damage because they don't have a good one for a specific type.

And thats where the difference in melee jobs and weapontypes come in. Theres a reason there aren't 6 different magic DDs. Thats because BLM fills up that roll by itself. But you can copy and paste a melee job in for any situation to cover elemental weakness a BLM can capitalize on with a Weapon-type weakness. The only time you cannot, are ghosts. But just like magic pots, it's a polar opposite.

.....and Magic Bursting is any harder? one macro 4tw =/

Magic bursting is harder actually because it requires actual timing, but it's not hard. Managing hate, MP, Draining, Aspiring, emergency healing, stunning, guaging the most affective nukes based on levels/resistance/dayofweek/efficiency, chosing when to rest, when to get up, when to use elemental debuffs, which debuffs, how to manage your melee's TP so that they can get their skillchain off at an appropriate time(e.g. nuking when they shouldn't chain that mob to kill quickly, or sparing nuke so they can get the TP gathered)... these things are dififcult to get a grasp of and there is more skill involved than raw gear. Autoattacking and control 2 once a fight is easy.

And I was comparing my Skeleton damage as a counter to any situational elemental damage. Thats the only fair way to do it, cause you'll never see a BLM use spells on a mob that just does "okay" damage.

So compare it. Hand to Hand with Fire.
Ranged Attacks with Thunder.
Scythes with Ice.

No matter which way you cut it, a Black Mage is not the supreme damage dealer. Neither is any melee. The only thing BLM has going for it, is it doesn't suffer from having the wrong type for the right mob.

.......So does SCing. I've seen it where a person can go too soon and the china die, or too late even.

I agree, the rest of it can be a challenge. However other Melee jobs have to deal with Hate. DRK's have to worry about drawing hate on combining their Attack Up Job Abilities.

However, You don't fucking manage our TP dude. It's a group effort, not you hitting Alt 2 to make me double thrust when it's needed.

And pardon you, but I don't have time to go AFK. I have to try to time WHEN to use Berserk to keep my DMG up, Because using it at the end of a fight is stupid. So I gotta time when I'm gonna use it. I often will save it to end a chain. so I'll go a fight without it. I have to manage that timer.

I manage my Jumps. Jump can interrupt the spellcasting of a monster, yes assuming it hits. I understand that risk, regardless, that makes jump a bit useful.

I can use High Jump if I first voke for a THF, to get rid of a bit of the hate, and deal a slight amount of DMG, generally more than my standard hits.

Raw Gear isn't what it's all about either. A good melee will carry Acc+ & Attack +. So he can sub in for when he's hitting or missing. Least thats what I try to do.

I'm constantly watching my own TP and my melee's to judge when to SC, the BLM, usually watches it as well. Yes, all 3 of us, an effort.

So before you go prancing on your high horse, GTFO. You don't know shit apparently about melee. I don't auto attack and hit one macro.

Dunno wtf you did as THF, but if you follow your own words I pity any PT that had you.

As far as resistance goes, another thing you have to credit to BLM is that on ITs, and even on IT++ mobs, with good gear we don't resist. A few levels too high and melee damage goes to crap. Which is why BLM cannons consistantly will be unparrallel damage throughout all levels of the game while melee don't start to see intense chains until the final levels where it becomes more common to fight hordes of VT monsters. We do 1000 dmg Blizz 4 on IT++ or on T, it's all the same to us. Hence on god fights where the level difference becomes extreme, try to compare the relative damage between a BLM and a regular melee.

And that was the big problem with rangers. Ranged Attacks had such a tiny damage drop off against higher level mobs. You'll see it happen to BLMs soon enough. Believe it, especially if the abuse of power with cannoning EXP, Divine Might, Missions, and Dynamis keeps it's rampant course.

I would like to see a manaburn alliance take down Kirin Fire...
Just realize it, one job dont > all.
We all need eachother every now and then.

Souleater + Rampage 4tw... Steel Cyclone might be interesting since DRK can buff so much. Absorb Str+Vit :D

Too add: I don't blame Black Mages entirely for how broken their job is. Square is also part to blame for making it easier do do things like that, instead of making everyone pretty equal in usefulness. Job stacking shouldn't be required on anything, nor a popular tactic.

I'mma go play FFXI now.
Can't maintenance lasts another 30 minutes.

i keep myself entertained in my parties by stunning whirl of rage, other than that i'm usually pretty bored in xp.

i leveled rng to get into cannons and blow shit away with 4 other rng, se took that from me.

now i look for opportunities to cannon. xp'n sucks, 9k an hour is fun.

1843 rampage souleater, 1100 sturmwind, i rock, i got the 2 pimp gaxes already, skill is at like 160. when i planned on taking war up, i was skilling it since dual axes in xp is more efficient.

What did I do with THF? I autoattacked and sometimes hit my SATA macro and sometimes hit my SATAVB macro. It wasn't hard and I was personally shocked to get so many compliments for doing something so ridiculously easy.

Congratulations, you've got a few JA macros. I'm sorry to tell you, but knowing not to berserk at the end of a fight isn't hard. Your job isn't hard. I'm not on any high horse I'm just telling you like it is. Using a few 3-5 minute timers should be instinctual to you if all the things I have to do as BLM have become instinctual to me at this point. I don't even think about hate level or bother looking if my blink is up or check through my chart what element a monster is weak to... because it's all automatic to me.

This isn't real life, and you don't have to defend Dragoon to the world like you're defending a race of people as equal to all the other races. I'm not going to be politically correct about some stupid bullshit like this. This is a game and it's imbalanced.

Dunno what shitty melee levels you're playing, but I'm running off onto 2 macro pages(as in 2 seperate alt/ctrl sets) for macros.

An alliance of BLM can't take down Kirin of couse, but man imagine this setup...

PLD
PLD
WHM
WHM
BRD
RDM

BRD
BLM
BLM
BLM
BLM
BLM

BRD
BLM
BLM
BLM
BLM
BLM

Yeah try and tell me that setup won't kill kirin fast. The only thing you really NEED melees for is Byakko pop.
