Im wondering what other war like to merit for war cate. I was thinking

x5 DA,
x2 aggressor
x2 berserk
x1 warcry

then cate 2
x3 warrior's charge
x2 salvagery
x1 tomahawk

I dont see tomahawk being that impressive because you would have give up your bomb core is tomahawk worth it? Also because salagery effect is it wise to lvl warcry more, and does it give tp gain to others as well?

You can swap the ammo slot without affecting your TP, so macro in the hawks when you hit Tomahawk macro.

Yes it's worth it, particularly (I hear) in Limbus where you may be meleeing elementals. Motley popped 1100 or some shit on an elemental in there, no 2hr.

I have no plans to merit Savagery, I'm going 3x Warcharge 3x Tomahawk.

I'm curious, is it really worth it to spread out your merits between Berserk, Aggressor and Warcry? I'd imagine that Aggressor is the best one to level because Accuracy is OH SO VALUABLE in end-game situations and having it up almost all the time would be uber.

When i was meriting my War i used:

4x DA
3x Berzerk
3x Agressor

I don't see the point in putting 5 in to DA, when the warcry merit is basically useless and you can put another merit in to bergressor so as a whole your even better.

Depends what you are fighting on war. The more HNMs (fafnir, nidhogg, ultima etc) that you are meleeing, the more Berserk/Agressor merits you want. 5 2 2 1 is kinda dumb though. Warcry merit is pointless. 4 3 3 is a decent combo. Just remember, double attack is nice, but berserk and agressor are nicer. Im personally doing 2 DA 4 zerk 4 agr since having zerk and agressor up on things like fafhog is a big difference. Might even go 0 5 5 in the future, but prolly only do that if I got a ridill. With dual axes, the DA is still nice to have a couple merits in.

Also, on the tomahawk thing, you dont have to give up your bomb core. You just switch to one before using tomahawk. You cannot throw your bomb core from using tomahawk, you have to have one equiped, so no risk there.

The primary clause of that, the one that deters me at least, is having to move each to separate macros & timers. I want to make the most of my 3min of Berserk, so having Aggressor up at the same time - guaranteed - is worth it.

If you were to dump 5 merits into Aggressor, there would be situations where your Berserk would only be acc'd up for 2 min. Not that 1min of non-Aggressor'd Berserk is really all that much of a loss, considering sushi is the most popular food as is, but look at the boosts:

Aggressor = +25acc
Berserk = +100~atk

25acc is easy to get with food; NQ sushi's will give you more than that. If you want 100~atk from food, you're looking at expensive/3hr foods. So your supplements should be a factor.

Now if by 'endgame' you mean the endgame's endgame, i.e. sky/sea/hnms as opposed to meriting, that changes things. First off I thought /thf with 300% Steel Cyclones was preferred for most large fights, seeing as it can (on most non-pld NMs) break 2k semi-reliably. But I've done very little endgame, especially lately, so I can't testify much on that front.

I could agree with the 1 Warcry merit being useless. I'm madly in love with DA so maxing that out was high on my priority list. Doing 4-3-3-0 makes sense.

I can't ever imagine splitting up zerk and agressor, they are both useful in their own right imo and it would drive me insane to have them on different timers. As for the whole referance to end game, I mean actually meleeing with your axes, IE basically TP burning somthing with really high defense and evasion (fafhogg, kirin, etc). It all depends on what you are going to do with your war and what gear is available to you (like ridill, would be silly not to do 5 zerk 5 agressor).

5 warcry, everything else is secondary

Warcry is good if you're having WARs helping tank at HNM, but that's about it. =P

I'd probably go nuts if my cooldown timers were separate too, but if that kindof thing doesn't bug you, I'd go for the JA that compliments (is that the right word?) the food you eat [i.e. more berserk if you eat sushi]

If you can get your hands on a Joyeuse or Ridill, 8 sword/4 axe and 5 in Berserk and Aggressor.

If you're going axe/axe 4/3/3 or 2/4/4 on Double Attack/Berserk/Aggressor both work well.

As for tier 2 merits, 3 Warrior's Charge and 1 into Tomahawk should be enough, from what I've seen/read Savagery isn't worth the merits and neither is Agg. Aim.

I wouldn't do it just for a Joyeuse unless you stick to piercing-weak mobs a lot. Otherwise it hits quite weakly for a WAR weapon. Ridill though, I definitely agree.

I agree Vil, Joy toy hits like a wet noodle. As more of a merit obtaining job for me, I went 4 DA 3/3 Zerk/agg 8/8 axe. I only have 1 merit in War. Charge, I don't think any of the 2nd tier merits are worth...well...any merit.

Please dont use a joyeuse on war =(

They want me to get one for farming Limbus. I'm less than excited.

=( I parse higher with joytoy usually, pretty much most of the camps except mamools. Mire is even a clear win for joy toy, I was able to eat meat there with 0 sword merits.

ok
Don't use joyeuese
Don't merit warcry recast
Don't merit Tomahawk

I went DA 5 Berserk 5, I dont do land gods/hnms so aggressor isn't a big deal at all for me.As for secondary goes, WarCharge and Savagery are the only two good ones in that section.... Unless you plan on being war/rng lol.
Other than that I went
4 crit
4 enmity
8 axe
4 evasion
1 Warcharge
1 Tomahawk (thats how i know it sucks) ** unles you plan on only exping in places like KRT where tomahawk actually does... well not much
1 STR (final thing I need merited)
