WAR preferred weapons and why!

We dont really bother with a tank on guivre. We bring one, but mostly just ping-pong him between blms untill he runs away lol.

I prefer /nin for merits and most parties. /sam is a lot of fun, but you are still an mp sponge because there will be countless times where seigan will only give you one or two free evades -- it just isn't as reliable as utsu, plus you get some ape damage evasion from utsu, too.

Also, fortitude axe with /dnc makes for a much easier time soloing.

I'd go with two swords if I had a ridill, buy for now I usually prefer two axes unless it's an alliance type fight.

Hmmm I think theres a mistake in the thread... How exactly does a WAR spam Steel Cyclone with a Ridill equipped???

kraken club -> gekko spam

HOLY FUCKING SHIT

I really like /sam for all merit pt's. To eiteen... axe/axe war will never be able to keep up with a GA war, even if he/she is /nin. Being able to have capped acc using meat, don't know how else to put it to get it through.

If I have a ridill war in pt, I generally will keep up hasso more often, cause they can hold hate better off me for most the fight. But if not I'll just full time seigan. Giving you a 6 hit build easily, and medi. On drk I've done three guillo's withen 40 seconds, it gets pretty dam ridiculous. And I realize this is a war thread, but I've done the same with fort axe, dunno why no one really mentions it. Cause I rarely lose a parse going war/sam with fort, you tp faster than sam's.

When only one person is /sam, THATS when it becomes a sponge. I find it best when you have two /sam (or sam/war), and a tank. Me and drychtnath merit together pretty much all the time, and we've made even the shitiest party's (no brd or cor, etc) make 22k/hr+

The main problem with people going /sam is they hold back wayyyy too much, because they assume when they ws, they'll be raped. Which is true, but if everyone goes apeshit the whole pt, you never take more than a couple hits.

Edit - Jamal you're right when you say ridill wars are the best damage output, for the least damage taken. But you only need one of them, it allows the apeshit DD to do their job.

im sure your right i still dont understand why a war would use axes other than to keep their skill up. the point of trying to find out which was better was to have it down on paper how much of a difference it is using those two weapons.

my last experience with an axe/axe war on birds was that i was doing over 50% damage and the axe/axe war was about 20% then he changed to gaxe lol. /sam for pick up merit parties is retarded was the point, you dont know the type of melees you are going to get so /nin is the safe route. you build your parties around you being /sam with your /sam friend so you can do whatever you want.

Capped accuracy? You do realize 2handers only get a 25-35 acc bonus over dual wielders. A decently geared dual-weild WAR will roughly get 60-70 acc from sushi. You won't be getting capped acc on merit mobs.

Also not directed to anyone in particular but everyone is saying GA is far superior to A/A now. Now I'm sure alot of the posters who agree with this have been around for a while but everyone seems to have forgetten how Dual-wield DESTROYED 2handers before the buff. 2handers now get a 25-35 att/acc bonus over dual-wielders which is a very nice buff but to say GA is far superior to A/A as /NIN is a little much I think. Now I'm not saying A/A is still better than GA but I would like a little more concrete proof before I sell my Manny/Juggy.

Which means you won't be getting the extra 75 attack you may get from using Coeurl subs.. Which is standard WAR food with GA.

I do agree that A/A still parses well against birds, but GA is better overall.

A/A parses well against what? Some horribly geared pick up DD? Don't kid yourself. You aren't going to parse comparably to DRK, SAM, DRG, THF or NIN (with proper Blau/Perdu setup) at birds with A/A.

And some people haven't picked up the two handed patch memo yet.

Everyone don't forget about the horses we once used, they're still great modes of transportation! At one time long long ago, horses dominated over cars. Don't let cars and their fancy magic trick you.

Would be nice to actually see a parse, i know i've parsed myself in dynamis before (and just my own damage with all other filters on) which isn't ideal, but i found Axe/Axe was actually slightly higher total damage than GA. That was quite a while ago and my gears changed considerably since then so the results might be different now.

Anyway, would be nice to see some data instead of ppl spouting off what they "know" will happen.

Personally i use Perdu Voulge, i honestly don't know if it is the better option, but it took me a long time to get the rank and ISP required for it so I like to put it to good use.

The 2-hand buff also included a change to raging rush, which was a reason why dual-wield would destroy 2-hands as well. Rampage was the god of weaponskills, raging rush for lack of better terminology blew.

I'm still a firm believer dual-wield can yield extremely efficient parties however.

NIN beating WAR? WAR can also use Blau/Joytoy if you really wanted to against birds but people don't merit on birds unless all the Mamool spots are taken.

And I don't see how the whole horses and cars analogy is comparable to A/A and GA. A/A still attacks faster than GA and true you can use meat now instead of sushi with 2handers but you are not going to have capped accuracy. Not to mention the incredible off-hand stats that a Juggy will give you. And last I checked Rampage was still a very good WS.

Dynamis is a bad judge although, it does show you what is optimal in a free-for-all on damage like in einherjar (to a lesser extent), limbus, or any event where large groups of melee just overwhelm mobs. This is partly because you're holding back and cannot perform for long periods of time without interruption. In the end, the bulk of your damage is from dot because you cannot get a WS off or only get a few swings in before mobs die. A/A performs better because your delay is lower therefore you have a better chance of attacking multiple times rather than high delay weapons which can get 1-2 swings before disengaging and moving to next mob.

this "capped accuracy" garbage is a bad analogy, a merited gaxe war with even decent gear will have 92-93% accuracy on anything but the thf and nin mamool mobs, it's a negligable amount

hell, a merited AXE war with decent gear will have near the same accuracy.

One other thing that isn't related to this particular argument.

I was told by a very knowledgeable friend that King's Justice tends to do significantly higher damage at 200%+ (obviously, but a very noticeable amount), so what I would like to do is put a warrior with a martial bhuj and this WS up against a perdu voulge raging rush war with similar gear and see how they hold up against each other.

I don't have to be there I just want to see the parse

Speak for yourself. With sushi 2 handers can easily get near the 95% cap acc on merit mobs besides nins and thfs. Unless my drk is speshul.

And thats why drk's have a low timer diabolic eye now, also allows me to swap out a lot of my acc gear for more str/dex/atk during ws's.

Damnit tyrath, you said drk and I thought i was in the drk forums lol >< sorreh...um, go warriors!
