WAR testing

Im fully merrited except on 2/5 STR. 17% Haste build with lots of STR. 7% Double Attack from Brutal/Pole Grip. I also will be testing the soboro vs. the Hagun just to see.

I did a party on the day of the latest update and with my soboro SAM I parsed top damage with a party involving a WAR/SAM G.axe, SAM/WAR with Hagun, and another melee whos job escapes me atm. The point is our WAR wasnt capped on gear or merits so I wanna test how far behind BDF, yourself, or Jamal I fall in terms of parse through the duration of the party since we all are capped on merits bascially.

I'm capped merit-wise, but not towards GA. I still have 5/5 Zerk/Agg for Ridill, and depending results this weekend, may be changing them. For a GA build with the DEX=ACC, Zerk+DA seems like the best choice, as accuracy is rarely an issue. Also, I'm 8/8 sword 8/8 axe 4/8 GA atm...so depending results I may move to 8/8 GA 6/8 Sword/Axe.
Gear wise I've picked up pieces to maximize dmg potential with GA, although if I'm not pulling hate, it may be worthwhile to pick up Uni-boots again (I sold these to begin with because of having hate ~75% of the time making it VERY tough to keep HP in the white).
Axe-wise Martial and Fortitude will both bring forth great results, assuming they are being used properly. However, for the greatest damage potential I still believe Amood (during first quarter moon phase) with High Dex/crit setup using Trollbane in Mamook would destroy most anything. However time and location restrictions make this a one-time only e-peen party for the most part.
Shooting for SAT 10pm EST for my first 'rerun' after the slight modifications on the update.

edit: just realized I need to spend 10 merits before we go out...looks like enhancing magic will be getting a boost, maybe i'll sub whm...

whm, pld, brd, sam/warx2 and war/sam with a 273(i think)276 Gaxe using byakko. I still have the parse from that pt

Results will be posted after, aiming to parse in Nyzul Isle again to remove any weapon advantages from any jobs.

Sure man, sounds good. I have a dinner thing tonight at 4ish (working OT all day til then) so I may be behind just a bit. It's a surprise party thing for some family member I'm not familiar with (in law's parents I think). Should be back 'round 7-7:30ish. But I will be there.

I'll come /SAM since I'm pretty sure now I won't be pulling so much hate I'll die. Between you and Phraust, I think we'll share hate ok. I'm going to use Martial Bhuj since I'm low on stones and haven't been on at all this week to get more (business as usual... book, dog, work, women, the works).

Sounds like a very promising parse set this time...

Get the old maxed out Ridill WAR, the new Greataxe WAR, and the 2-handed king SAM together, and see what this update did to them.

Maybe you should get a MNK in there next time around. I'd offer myself, but no Black Belt, so I can't hardly call myself maxed out.

You're capped on Merits, with an excellent gear selection and a superior knowledge of how the job works. I'd hardly say lack of a Black Belt disqualifies you. I don't have Adaberk, after all, but I do have capped Great Axe, and full WAR merits.

Our second go-around will have Crosis as MNK. The original parses first was me as the basis as war/nin, the second was crosis as the basis as MNK/NIN. So, no worries! Jamal will deliver!
 
I PMd Jamal, and chances are my xbox wont let me on. Was going to try and trade it in today, but will hold off till tomorrow so I can try and log.

If there is a NIN out there who can make it, post here so I can bow out and not feel bad.

I will log around 9:45 if no one posts and try to not let my xbox get overheated...

Right, but what I'm hoping for is what the 'pinnacle of the old' can do against the new folks and their shiny weapons. The same as an Axe/Axe WAR with perfect gear just wouldn't be the same as a Ridill WAR for these tests, a BB-less MNK isn't the same as one with.

Well, mine has been ready to die for a few months, been hoping for RROD, but hasn't happened yet. I'm going to just take it to gamestop and get my 200$+ for it, then decide if i'm going to go with PS3, PC, or just say fuck it.

My play time for the next 2.5 months was scheduled to be next to nill anyway, so I probably wont make a decision till towards the end of that as far as replacing my xbox.

I've been camping an NM for like 15 min, to test my xbox, and seems good so far.
 
as for the overheating hting, apparantly something was put atop the cd drive, heatsink I think? which causes them to overheat.
