New cinematic is spiffy.
I have to wonder tho'... given the number of times they've shown the Dwarf Slayer (original cinematic, tapestry in the new one), I'm surprised they didn't use that for the Dwarf DPS class. I wouldn't be overly surprised to see it enter the game as a new class at some point in the future.
There were a lot of other classes that didn't make the cut that I understood why (Dark Elf Assassin, Empire Engineer/Greatsword/Flagellant, High Elf Dragon Knight, Orc Weirdboy, etc), but the Dwarf Slayer just seemed like such an obvious choice.
Since I'm bored waiting to go out to dinner, don't feel like doing Campaign, and Reya is playing her crazy card game, hmm... What would be my predictions for future faction job classes... This is me geeking out horribly btw, since I've played these games longer than some of the current players have been alive.
Wood Elves: Waywatcher as ranged DPS obviously. Wardancer for melee DPS seems likely. Other than that though... Nothing all that incredibly conducive to the tank role, and the support role would just be a reworked version of the High Elf Mage class.
Undead: Undead would be a tricky faction to make, since there are at least three sub-factions within that grouping. Vampire Counts, Khemri, and Nagash. Necromancer would be the obvious support class, for VC and Nagash anyway, as would Wights/Grave Guard for tanking. You'd probably want to avoid the whole issue with Vampires, since they're ridiculously powerful in Warhammer anyway. Melee DPS is a bit trickier, I suppose you could go with some kind of Wraith for that. Khemri classes are just messy, since that entire army is basically just low-level animated dead and a few big constructs lead by mummies.
Other Chaos Factions: Tzeentch is fun and all, but Khorne is so much more savage, after all. Probably just re-iterate the existing Chaos classes, though Khorne would have to find a new Support and Ranged classes. Or just do away with them entirely, it is Khorne after all.
Bretonnia: Pretty standard, Knight Errant or Grail Knight for tank, Sorceress for support, more Knights for melee DPS. Kind of a boring faction for me, since their whole schtick revolves around mounted combat in the first place. Again, no good ranged class leaps to mind.
Lizardmen: Now this would be vaguely interesting to see. Skinks Priests for support, mebbe Chameleon Skinks for ranged, Saurus for tanking/melee DPS roles. A Kroxigor might be interesting, but I'm not sure how big they want to make player characters, and things of that nature would be tricky to balance.
Ogre Kingdoms: See Kroxigor. Aside from that... Pretty straightforward. Ironguts for tanking, Butchers for support, Hunters for DPS, and Leadbelchers for ranged most likely. The Ogre mechanics would probably be among the most interesting to write for support and ranged though.
Skaven: Ah, Skaven. If these guys don't get added to the game (assuming it's successful, of course) at some point, I'll be very sad. Stormvermin for tanking, Engineer or Gray Seer for support, Poison Wind Globadiers or some variant might be interesting for ranged, and... hmm... I suppose Assassins or some variant for melee DPS.
Chaos Dwarfs: I have no idea. These guys get left out of whole editions of the game sometimes, so it's hard to actually care what happens to them. I doubt we'll ever see them as a playable faction anyway.
Odds & Ends: I wouldn't be surprised if some of the aforementioned factions, and other lesser factions, don't get a full range of jobs if/when they get added anyway. I can see each one just adding one or two jobs to the mix, just to shake things up and make people level new classes. Ditto for expanding the existing factions; The Empire has access to 7 other lores of magic (8 if you count Kislev) after all, their own Engineers (who are much more... ambitious than their Dwarf counterparts) and so on. In fact, that would probably be the best way to handle the other Chaos factions really. Just add a Khorne Berserker or something along those lines, a Slaanesh whatever, and a Nurgle plague-thingy. It wouldn't be too bad to make the classes added a bit on the variable side either, able to handle a variety of roles depending on the specific build.
