Waste of a party slot

Sweet Jesus, I'd never noticed your characters in your signature -.-;; I was freakin' hungry man, and by the time I got back, you guys were just finishing off your orgy in the Dominion. :D

Dominion may have been the best exp I ever got in the 30s also not as hard to pull as Shitadel.

Lv. 40 PUP, and will be LFG tonight.

Duly noted!!! Will avoid BW totally.

BTW, anyone wanna invite me tonight so I can test out my Automaton's new BLM turban?

SMN looks like a really fun job but having to main heal after getting WHM to 75 would just be..... /gun to head.

real men/women solo :bb:

While this guy does appear to be an ass, you really should level your whm sub. :o

I'm not disputing that, but seriously, he knew what he was inviting. He could have easily denied me entry to the party or said something before me actually arriving.

It's the fact that he invited a RDM/BLM, and then had the gonads to say "you won't get invites if you sub BLM".

Which is horseshit. He invited me, didn't he?

Yeah sure let's exp

j/k

It was fucking level 35 >.> And I *was* doing everything in the party, especially after he thought it was a good idea to Astral Flow an EXP mob for shits and giggles.

/comfort, get used to it, it will be more {Fun} at higher level especially when your other mage in party sitting on 900mp+ and you are like 100mp =p

Unless your party is fighting something that needed poisona at lv 35 /blm was fine. more mp and conserve mp. /whm is more for higher lvs where they want silena and erase. my rdm/blm gets invites even to these areas. So just ignore when they tell you to lv whm. You can lv that job when you get around to it. Not everyone can be a whm...something about falling asleep while lving it i think.....

When a player is dead weight i try to replace them after maybe 30 minutes not wait 2 hours. 2 hours at lv 35 is atleast 2 lvs if the party is good.

I'm gunna have to disagree, it doesn't matter if its important for that situation or not. You should always have any common sub for that job leveled, even if it is used once in a blue moon.

30-37 felt good dammit. ;p Also, call out for pizza or something. If I can get committed ppl in a pt who won't wuss out, I'll play hrs... lol

Also, how's that BST? :P I'm going to be poking my RNG this weekend/next week and the train'll be takin' off!!

Personal opinion, one I happen to agree with but don't expect others to cling to.

Having a variety of subs just makes you that more versatile a player and perhaps more memorable that if for w/e silly situation, you had a fully leveled w/e sub for w/e main.

I've still got a few left to go before my 1 year of playing FFXI rolls around, and then the WotG jobs to worry about, lol... >_>

Had the best party I'd had in a very long time last night, and Red Mage started getting fun between 35-37. Note: we had a White Mage in the party who was main healing, and I was maintaining Regen and tossing out a random cure here and there. I only ran out of MP when a crawler began spamming Cocoon and had to repeatedly Dispel.

Well, now that I have a dedicated duo partner for Black Mage (wootPasquale) and I'm staticing with Avilas's Paladin, I doubt I'll have to touch my Beastmaster. D:

I agree.
Poisona is Lv 6... I should hope a RDM has WHM to at least Lv6 if they are 35+... I wouldn't even start complaining about Silena, because there aren't many monsters that silence that low (worms and beastmen only, right?).

As far as summoners not healing.... The other day I was doing a Nyzul Isle run, and I was on my WHM. I noticed he wasn't resting so I said "What the hey, I don't have anyone else to Devotion." so I did it. Eventually, we got split up, I was with a NIN and a MNK, and the SMN got caught with the THF and BRD. Instead of resting, the SMN went crazy trying to capture their abilities.

Priorities, much?

A fact I'm becoming less and less proud of considering I'm leveling BLM and RDM, but my White Mage is sitting at level 1.

Shame on me.

SHAME ON YOU

I said I wasn't proud of it. I've put it off and put it off, and I realize I'll need to level it one day, but I just haven't done it :-|

I'm only taking it to 37 when I *do* level it.

I was invited as RDM34/BLM17 by another RDM in the party as a replacement. He sent me a tell saying to "/tell Blackwizzrd" and as soon as I did, I was invited.

First sign: BW was /anon.
En route to the party I ask "so what am I doing, enfeebling/nuking or healing? Please say nuking, because I completely blow at healing, and the dude I'm replacing didn't indicate before asking me to replace him..."
Reply: "Main heal LOL"
Me: "Goddamnit, ok, well I'll live."

I get to the party and on the first fight, I notice that BW has over 550 MP compared to my meager 430. Yeah, not a vast amount, but I figure "what the hell" and go to healing. I see the fucker cast Titan.

He doesn't begin helping me out with Cure duty until the entire party starts badgering him to help me. I'm keeping my way around with Regens and Cure IIs, not pulling hate. He pulls hate and I end up having to Cure Bomb him to pull it back off >.>

He then has the audacity to tell me to "level ur WHM" (there's that word ur again) because "parties wont invite you if you sub BLM".

My response: "Parties wont invite a Summoner who doesn't at least assist with healing duties."

I agree with Ice fully. The rest of the party was cool as shit. This guy was a useless lump of pixels, and I would never have run out of MP had I just had a different mage there.

Firstly, he's got alot of nerve telling someone how to do there job when he cant handle simple back up healing duties.

Secondly, (alot of people that know me well know how I am with mage jobs and the ppl that think they are easy street)

IF YOU CAN NOT HANDLE MAIN HEALING, BACK UP HEALING, OR SMN Buffing..QUIT SUMMONER RIGHT NOW.

I'm sorry that's just how I feel.

Being a summoner requires the ability to multi task and adapt to certain situations, and think outside of the box to the benefit of the ppl you are helping and partying with; just like any other job. If you cant handle being a summoner, don't do WHM cause that will be the final straw for you parties. I feel all SMNs should be WHMs for a while before taking on SMN so they can learn to use every spell to there advantage. I'm not saying I"m perfect at either job but I know what's expected of me and everyone else should. If you need advice or tips, ask someone you know that plays the job well and learn from it.

-Rant ova.
