Ill pipe up just for a second in defense of some of the people with bad gear. #1, unless you get lucky with BCNM's or are blessed by someone, or in even a more rare case, you level a craft (which will be the slowest) your first job to 75 will pretty much be gimp. There isnt any denying it. By the time youve had 1 75 job for a little while, and a couple other jobs leveled, will you actually start to get some of the better gear out there.

Yeah there are other ways to make gil, but you arent going to use every way there is because some people just cant stomach farming, or camping NM's. It just doesnt make sense to be flamin people with decent gear because other people have got better gear when you know your first job leveled was just as gimp. (for most of us)

My problem is not with not having expensive gear but without even having the cheap gear anyone can get easily.
nq eremites,seers head, mychophiles cuffs(soloable at this point) or seers mitts, the questable neckpeice, rse feet(questable), red cape(your whm is lv 46 changing to a red cape from white cape won't hurt you) ect would have been perfectly fine since it shows you are at least trying.
I expect the simplest of things that wont take people any serious time to get or afford and even then I found myself dissapointed over and over again which led to this flame.
I mean seriously I'm finding people not even wearing gimp gear but simply not having any on. Yes we can all leave the party or kick that person out but it shouldnt be so bloody hard to find somone that at least tries to wear gear appropriate to the job they are.
As for the war not wearing hauby. wearing was the operative word. He owned it but tried to wear the crappy sipah peice instead for crit+ rate.
Even then hauby is such a natural increase in damage vs everything else availiable that one should at least try to get it for thier war/sam/drk ect. 60 levels of fighting should give somone more than enough seals for bcnm 60 a few times. I got my 30th kindred seal at lv 60 despite almost never getting any fall to me. Just from that method I mentioned alone once can theoretically at least try to and probably mostly suceeed at getting that peice of equip.

there are people listed and unlisted there that have jobs at lv 75 in actual HNM and various other endgame ls that dont even take the time to get a 10k peice of equip or use thier rse(which I consider free due to it's questability).
I get angry because I know they can be better than what they show with very little effort. If all the crap they needed was a mil to get then I'd be more understanding but what I get mad at is the stuff thats 2k, 10k, 30k, or even free in many cases concerning conquest gear.

thats funny cause i remember farming lizard skins as 30rdm/blm till i got nerf then i switched to moat carps then did BCNM40s, 3 years ago you had ppl farming all the time as low lvl job, i remember working to save up 8k to buy a fire sword and that was alot, when i was xping thf i farmed while i seeked in those 3 hours of seeking and no invite i made money. anyone that says I cant make money is a lazy person thats all idc what your excuse everyone has the same chances as everyone else, no one got some special money making gift given to them by SE.

well ya, I know everyones got the same chance, but thats the thing. Its chance. I went on 6 ODS runs a few days ago, didnt get ANYTHING valuable, but at the same time, another pt went. THey got like 7m total. Fuck chance!

Well only time i ever made money on BCNMs was when Erase actually sold for a decent penny, but farming sessions are generally always the same you just have to do it instead of wasteing ppls time in a xp pt.

Darkfalcon- level your blm subjob past 17 which you obviously only did for warp. DO NOT CUREBOMB LIKE YOURE A PLD. Do the spells regen, poisona, ect mean anything to you? Kiting a monster when you get hate as a result of that AWAY from the rest of the party and out of voke rang will not help you especially when you know you're gonna get links if you try that in CN.

I never had any problem making gil back in the day. I used to whore out BC40 Royal Jelly for Erase and Ni and farm silk np.

Yeah, I admit I was a gimp when I level'd my blm. At least until I posted a thread and asked for help. I was wearing a *covers his head* Merc. Cpts. Belt at level 60. I stopped leveling for about 2-3 weeks and farmed. I think it was around 1.2-1.4 mil for all the gear I needed to ungimp my ass and I got it all with a couple hundred k extra. It was all NQ, but It doesn't take that long, go farm for F's sake.

"I don't know what to farm" is a good line, I know, I used it. FFXIAH.com is a great place to look prices up and things to go farm. Yeah, it's boring as hell to farm for 3-5 hrs. a day and do nothing else. In the end you appreciate the gear you have even more.

There is gear you should have and gear you would like to have. Even if you are saving for the gear you like doesn't mean you don't buy the gear you should have. I still need at least 12 mil to get to be pimp, but at least I'm not gimp. I have all the gear to at least perform my job functions, it may be NQ, but it does what it's supposed to.

I'm sure a lot of the players that you will run across that are gimp are players of the "instant gratification" mentality and don't want to waste time farming. Well here's a shocker for those peeps... You are playing FFXI... there is nothing in this game that is instant. PERIOD.

Anyways to point:
I give you credit for my sub job gimp! Yes I was lazy to lvl blm to it's proper level. I admit my mistake there. I have never leveled mage job before. When I started playing this game, I started with white mage and quit it at level 38ish. That when I started leveling samurai, ninja, and monk. So I barely touch white mage again. To give another try.

My cures has hasn't been a problem since i started it again. And I haven't ripped any hate to any tank as far as i know in CN. This recently in Quicksand Caves i have, cuz the ninja had trouble keeping his shadows up when we were fighting spiders, even though i hasted him and erase him when he got slow again. I try to save MP as much as I can to keep the party moving. I do poisiona people when i can and mostly on the mages and pld. Regen I never use it cuz to me its worthless to use and waste mp useless it's Regen 2. I rather cure you instead. I been ninja before at lower levels and I know how to keep hate. At higher level it's much different story.

So don't come here telling me that I rip hate, cuz really I haven't had any problems. Sorry for my gimp level, I will try always keep it up at all times ( sorry meeze i fail you ). And also sorry for my late post, cuz really I don't spend time reading lame flames that is not worth reading.

Oh Btw, I saw your title and your "flaming" people for there gears not for there levels. Meh JFYI.

Naps- Having lv 40 armour sniprs rings and a juju gi in bazaar at lv 38nin doesnt protect you from harm.

I don't get how having gear in advance has anything to do with them being gimped or poor at their job...could you try to explain?

Wow been a while since I've posted here.

Let's see, to all the people who said HQ gear is not necessary, I agree. I leveld BLM back in the day with only ice staff and got my dark staff till I was 73, staves were priced at 1.5 mil back then when having 20k made you rich to some extend. However times change, and a lot of gear has been added since. Can't afford HQ? no prob, get regular ones, just don't wear your RSE1 when you're lvl 50+ .

I do agree however on that thing about people who level and level and seems like they never switch gears, like, they get lvl 17 lizard armor and wear it all the way to 30+. Some other gear though is so good it's gonna be good 'till almost forever, Hermit rings+1 for example can be technically used to level 54.

Anyways, being broke is understandable to some extend, but being lazy is something else. It shows, if you ever PT with someone that is lazy enough to not get the money for their gear they're usually crappy PT members, though I had cases like the person who saw that meleeing RDM(good gear, crappy skill)

One last thing, Khajit rants about gear and stuff, but someone replied he sucked at NIN, and I have to second that, seriously not even with your gear(which I do suppose it has to be good, or at least decent as you imply in this post; otherwise it wouldn't make sense at all to complain about something you don't do yourself) you couldn't get an utsusemi cast between hits, might I add it wasn't Ichi, it was Ni, seriously, I as NIN sub could do it better and I don't have much experience on that job. Sorry about this, but it was sorta inevitable to express my experience.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Hume and Galka RSE1 feet are pretty much the best choice (esp. Hume, 3 INT) for BLM until 70+ (AF2, Yigit, etc.). Elvaan RSE1 feet until RSE2 feet at 62 or the same 70+ stuff.

Elvaan and Galka RSE1 body only get replaced in the 50's.

Galka RSE1 hands last until Sly Gauntlets (50) or AF1 or RSE2.

Galka RSE1 legs until Magic Slacks (40) if you don't mind the MP for INT tradeoff (BLMs usually don't), or all the way to 70+ if you do stick with the RSE1.

Point being ... there's a good amount of RSE1 which BLMs should in fact be wearing at level 50+. Mithras and tarus? Yeah, avoid the stuff like the plague, but contrary to popular belief not every BLM is a taru.

There was no body armour being worn on his person period at lv 38. The rings included empress band and reflex ring.

My bad, I was refering to the initial equip you get when you 1st start the game. RSE1 is very good even 50+ I wear boots and hands(I'm a taru) on WAR for WS.
