I'd like to take a minute to update the old members on a few things so please take the time to read up and ask questions!

We've added a few new interesting items to the site in preparation for the FFXIV release. One of those changes being a Linkshell Roster that can be utilized at the link under the navbar "Roster". How it works, if you choose to have your linkshell forum based on the forums here (via hidden forums) you will be able to have a listing of the members so people can easily see what linkshells you belong to! This should be helpful in the long run. As many have guessed, we are re-introducing the hidden LS forums for use. Please PM myself to have these set up or if you have any questions.

We have also added a new area for paypal. This comes in two parts to explain. We are hoping that the users of this site enjoy their time enough to throw their hard earned money at us in a time of recession! Man that must be the smartest business plan EVAR. Anywho, if you decide to support the site and the lovely monkey staff we have you will put yourself in a new Premium Member usergroup which will show up as a purple colour and have a nice banner for yourself. :)

The honorable moogle/tonberry usergroups have been deleted and replaced with awards. Check out the awards at the top! See who has been awesome on the site. :D

We've also upgraded to vBulletin 4.0.6 which thankfully fixes a lot of templates (damn Private Messages...) but broke a few in our older styles. Because of that, we have a new mobile theme has been uploaded that is a bit sexier. Check it out if you have a mobile device!

Newer themes will be introduced based off of the games nations as we learn more about them. :)

There are a few other little things here and there. Take a look around! Stay for a while and let's make EOSun an awesome place to hang out and get things prepared for FFXIV!

If you have any questions or see something broken please let us know either in this thread or by Private Messaging one of our fine sexy bottoms. :D

Much love and admiration,

The staff at The Eorzea Sun

I really like the black, white, and gray theme you got going. Gives that feeling of something starting from nothing. I'm excited to watch the progression of Qcdn now.

I'm glad to see QCDN is adapting to the release of FFXIV and moving on with life. I guess I feared it would just vanish along with FFXI one day but i'm glad I was proved wrong.
Oh and thankyou for a forum colour scheme that doesn't hurt my eyes lol. Keep up the good work!

Well this is new! I like the little award system too :3

I don't like the gray that much, I'd like to have my purple back :( Been using NightShift since like... Pupusa was admin, lolololol.

I love it!! You guys do some great things :)!!!

just started FFXIV OB and now I see this,
a lot of awesome things going on in this past week :D

Looks great guys :)

New site looks spiffy, but I too am hoping for a Nightshiftish theme eventually, the greyscale hurts my eyes >.<

Like the new look, don't like the name and url change.

Mobile theme is nice.

Not being able to switch from the mobile theme back to the default theme isn't.

HALP!

so this is what happens when miros sleeps with reeve. /panic

lol i like the new look. i haven't tried switching themes yet tho. /crosses fingers

I like the layout. The URL is still iffy to me because I worry that I wont remember it. lol

qcdn.org redirects here so you could just stick to that?

I highly suggest you don't switch themes. Unless I'm missing something obvious, there is no way to switch back once you've done so; the User CP in the Mobile theme has no General Settings option, and there are no other options that I can find for switching it. It eliminates many board features to make it more compact for 'smart phones', and makes it a pretty miserable experience when posting from a normal computer.

I'm having to log out to browse threads, then log back in when I want to post.

Will admins' heads explode if I make a sock puppet until this is fixed?

I solved the problem by using the back button until I got back to the original theme which had the option to switch, and I swapped it back.

I am opposed to change. Therefore I get to play devil's advocate to all the people who are enjoying it.

New theme gives a sense of dull lifelessness and isn't nearly as easy on the eyes as the old one was.
QCDN was catchy and hip. Eosun just doesn't have a nice ring to it. It's also gonna be a little silly if there ends up being a Quetzalcoatl server for the retail version of the game. Having a forum dedicated specifically to one server's community was a really snazzy thing and it feels like it could very easily be lost in the hype of FFXIV. Another community forum for the game, cool, but a forum specifically for one server? Even cooler.

I'm sure the site will muddle through somehow and continue to be a success, but I have to wonder if it will still be the QCDN I've grown rather fond of these past few months.

I'm sure we'll have multiple themes like last time.

Kinda late for this one since it's already called Eosun and the site is already up. This will probably still be server specific for the most part if everyone goes to the same server like most people are planning to do. But I do like that it's more widespread name instead of just a server specific name, even if I do like the idea of a server specific forum.

I'm sure everyone will get over their downsides of the change and stick with it, and the site isn't that different yet. Just give it a chance before you judge it.

We'll have more themes shortly. We're on a new style set, so we are adjusting. Right now our main concern is getting the site running properly, a decent amount of forum categories have been condensed. We'll make things pretty after we learn more about the game itself! Though I'll admit, I thought for a standard theme this would be a winner compared to the overly-bright white and blue default themes we used to have.
