What anime are you watching/reading?

Just finished watching Clannad on DVD, and it prompted me to download Clannad - After Story lol

Awesome anime, just like all Key/Visual Art stuff. The visuals and the moe casts always get me hooked XD. I was a huge fan of Air and Kanon and i'm glad Clannad didn't disappoint, although the lack of an English Dub did annoy me. I have grown to like the subbed version though and I recommend this to anyone who likes moe-filled slice of life (something along those lines :p) anime.

I finished up Black Lagoon: Second Barrage. Fucking awesome and I want more.

Funny thing about the anime is that typically I really don't like anime's that don't have a definitive storyline and seem to be more of a collection of episodes that string along in a periodical order. There's no real end, since the story even by the anime's standards, is still ongoing. These things don't bother me with Black Lagoon like they usually do in all the other anime's I've watched.

However, I fucking love the characters. They are just awesome, even one's that just appear for a few episodes. The dialog, is fucking fantastic.. granted 50% of it is swearing. However, it's swearing done brilliantly. Everything just fits perfectly, voices are done amazingly. It all just flows exceptionally well. The action scenes are incredible and frequent.

I think I read somewhere there's a Third season in the works, and god I hope so. I just can't get enough of this anime.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind more Black Lagoon, that show is completely badass. Revy brings the balls man.

Recently finished Clannad After Story and Mahoromatic (both seasons and the OVA).

Most likely gonna watch Chobits next methinks

Dragon Ball then Dragon Ball GT. DB Kai made me realize I never seen them.

Hey all, quick request.

I've always been interested in anime, but never really got into until recently. I was curious if I could get some recommendations on what to watch, as when I do have time to do so, I want my time well spent.

Elfin Lied and Ikki Tousen are really what i've seen so far, both which I enjoyed greatly.

Here's what i'm really looking for; female protagonist(s), action, ecchi (fan service or w/e it's labeled as) and a compelling story of course.

Love to hear some recommendations, i've been looking into a few, but kindof unsure of where to go to.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Mnemosyne - Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi, Rosario + Vampire or Kanokon. Would any of these be worthwhile with the style i've described? I've also read that Gunslinger Girl is good too.

Thanks!

Hmmm, shows with female protagonists. In that case:

Soul Eater (Anime and Manga)
Rosario + Vampire (Manga Only, the anime is utter shit!)
Tenchi Muyo! (Classic)
Slayers (Novel series adapted into an anime, freaking hilarious)
Witchblade (Yes, an american comic book series was made into an anime)

Anyone else care to add to this?

As for me, now watching:

Turn A Gundam
Hayate no Gotoku!! 2nd Season
After War Gundam X
Mobile Suit Victory Gundam

Oh holy fucking shit Victory Gundam is DARK! The enemy military BEHEADED one of the leaders of the Protagonists Group live on TV!

Shows with female protagonist (that Gerry didn't mention):

Chrono Crusade
Fate/Stay Night (male and female protagonists)
Shadow Skill
(Gerry mentioned Tenchi Muyo, so in that regard) Negima! and Negima!?
Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki
Blood+
Witch Hunter Robin
Kiddy Grade
Solty Rei
Magical Knight Rayearth
Mezzo
Burst Angel
Gravion and Gravion Zwei
Black Lagoon
Gunslinger Girl
Ghost in The Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Ergo Proxy
Twelve Kingdoms
R.O.D. (Read or Die, the series)
Devil Lady (creeeeepy)
Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play (older anime, great story but kind of a drama/love story. Still a fantastic anime though. And there is action.)
Ah! My Goddess. (cutesy, hilarious, action packed love story)
Ah! My Goddess: Flights of Fancy (second season)
Amazing Nurse Nanako (fan service)
UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie (comedy with uber fan service)

Higurashi is another one. Season 1 is male/female but season 2 is female.

I'll add to this too

My-HiME
My-Otome
Fruits Basket (less action, but still a quality anime)
Najica Blitz Tactics (not the best, but action packed with a female lead)
Jinki: Extend
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (First Season, A's and StrkerS)
Shakugan no Shana (one of my personal faves)
Divergence Eve (underated in my book, plenty of good ole' fanservice)
Full Metal Panic (male and female protagonists)

Thanks very much for the recommendations, i've looked into a few of them. I wish there was more of Elfen Lied, as nothing i've watched since has really has come close to how amazing it was.

Really? Did the dub just come out or something? When I bought it in stores it ended up only being subbed.

Bandai released two versions, one subbed, one hybrid. The sub only versions come with two discs in one casing while the hybrid have 2 cases for the DVDs. You'll find them over on rightstuf rather easily, I got the Limited editions because I love getting stuff like art boxes for my anime.

I ordered all 3 parts (6 discs) the other day for this series cause it looked like a blast. Thankfully I did notice the older versions and its lack of a dub and got the newer released versions. I can give you all my opinion of it too once I receive it lol^^

Awesome. Btw, The Light-Up Core Drill that comes with the first LE rocks, the bag from the 2nd LE is meh, and the manga and Best Sound CD from the 3rd LE is epic win.

I remember Bandai showing the Core Drill at Otakon last year. I'm not a fan of TTGL but the drill looked cool.

It's badass, it lights up green, and when you shine it on a flat surface, you can see the spiral =D

I know, they showed it at the panel when I was there.
