Going to catch up with Bleach here (now to remember where I left it ~.~)

I'm waiting for the 2nd season of Melancholy, but I haven't heard anything about it in over a year. :(

I've been watching Berserk, I'm up to episode 16 now.

I'm gonna buy the DVDs this December when they are re-released as Remastered =D

Ahh Berserk. This anime is so awesome until it ends. But Gerry, you read mangas don't you?

If so, you'll be free to seek out the rest of Berserk and all of it's awesomeness. :3

Unfortunately for me, I'm not a manga person. So my Berserk awesomeness ended with the series. ; ;

Yes, I'm planning to buy the first five volumes soon, though they are quite expensive at £8.99 a volume O_o

Ah good, if ever there was an anime that leaves you wanting more, Berserk is it. And I read somewhere it picks back up where the anime leaves off, in the manga. I just don't personally know.

The Berserk anime (from what I've heard, never seen it) just stops during one of the arcs of the manga. The manga continues on and is still being published (next year will be it's 20th anniversary). I stopped reading it about two years ago because it was so slow. If it's ever actually completed (I sometimes think the author will just continue to write until he keels over) then I'll go back and read the whole series.

I'm stuck in an anime rut. I can't seem to watch more then 5 mins of anime. Nothing really holds my interest. I need some good ideas for anime.

The anime ends half way volume 13 of the manga series which is the end of the Golden age arc.
(Sure sent me for a shocker when I first saw the series 8 years ago.)
The manga series has 32 volumes now and I think volume 33 will be released somewhere this year.

The license for the US translation is in the hands of Dark horse comics.
They have translated up to volume 24 and they will release up to volume 27 soon.

I just finished Druaga and the first 2 episodes had me hooked. Its only 12 episodes but it was really good. Way fucked up ending though and it sucks cause season two doesnt come out till next year. Sweet show, pretty funny too.

Just started watching Shuffle! (got all 6 volumes through the post 3 days ago), pretty funny anime so far^^

And just recently finished watching my collection of Ah! My Goddess DVD's which took a while to do. Thats Season 1, season 2, the movie, the 5 part OVA series and the spin-off Mini Goddess series (chibi-like form comedy series). Loved this series a lot <3 allthough I grit my teeth at how spineless and inept Keichii the lead character is after blowing every opportunity to make a move with Belldandy.

Oh and Lucky Star volume 4 of the dub arrived 2 weeks ago. Sadly i'm not too impressed with the dubbing of this, it just doesnt seem to sit right with me. Good anime nonetheless.

I just caught up with the first story arc of Souleater, and although I normally do not watch alot of shonen stuff I thought it was pretty badass

Just watched witchblade at anime night over at uni, goddamn its awesome.

Hell yeah, WitchBlade was bad-ass.

(I was under the impression you watched the whole thing.. but if you have, then there's no need for this spoiler tag. ..Not really that much of a spoiler. But just to be safe.. need to fix this.)

Spoiler:
Such a sad ending though. ; ;

Just about finished with Code Geass and it really is as fucking epic as everyone says. Awesome show. Episode 12 of R2 was hilarious just made of funny, and then I watched episode 13 and was like AW FUCK NO. I had planned to stop watching after 13 last night, but then ended up watching another 4 episodes because I couldn't stop after that D: Very good show though.

Ok, watched the following at the past couple anime nights at uni:

G Gundam (I actually won a vote, I lol'd so much, I also made someone rage.jpg, I lol'd some more)
Samurai Champloo (Great anime but I'm still unsure about the hip hop music, I'll still watch it though)
Strike Witches (WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?! I will never watch this again!)
WitchBlade
Kamen no Maid Guy (This anime kicks ass, everyone must see the random lulz of a demonic Maid Guy!)
Hokuto no Ken (For obvious reasons =3)
Genshiken (An anime about the general otaku, good fun to watch, actually reminds me of our anime society at uni)
Golgo 13 (Anime about an assassin, kicks ass. It has a slightly slow build up but then it becomes explosively awesome)

Anime enthusiast.

Until you learn the true meaning, which is actually closer to an insult then a compliment being called that.

Let's say nerd is the friendly translation for it and Hikikomori is one of the more extreme forms.
(Feel free to Wiki that)

Maybe I haven't made it clear above, but the word otaku had absolutely no reference to anime until people outside Japan started calling themselves that in reference to calling themselves anime fans.

The Japanese word otaku itself is an insult and I recommend you not to take that word into your mouth if you ever happen to be in Japan.
Same goes for a couple of other words that the western anime fans like to use.
