When it hits you...

I just wanted to update this thread a little bit because this whole quitting doing 10 million events a week thing has been wonderful.

Shaw and I have decided to get married. It was so funny the one thing we fought the most over became such a small part of our lives we became so much happier together. We are having just a small wedding on July 16th with close friends and family. I am actually pretty close to being ready to quit but Shaw seemed like he wanted to keep our accounts to have something to do but we haven't been on in almost two weeks now. I have considered logging on to check out the new stuff for DNC but we just don't know. I think I am afraid if I start playing again I will slowly get sucked back into the hole I was in and I don't want that. We will just see how things go. I am gonna be so busy with our wedding and then my best friends wedding over the next 6 weeks I am wondering when I am gonna sleep lol.

Gaming in general, and MMOs in particular, is one of those things where you really need to have a firm grasp on the priorities in your life.

It bothers my LS lead to no end that I don't rearrange my life around the game, but gaming takes a very low priority for me, to be honest. TV is the only thing further down.

Guess it hasn't really hit me too hard yet. As it is I don't get on as often as I used to, nor do I stay logged in for as long anymore. Part of it had to do with some in-game issues that occured, as well as realizing that my little girl is not so little anymore and requires a lot more attention and physical excercise LOL. I mainly log on for endgame events and as of yet have not reached level 80 on any of my jobs.

To be honest, it hit me slightly when I realized I was rearranging my life around the game, and the endgame activities I was doing. I used to cut family outings short on my days off just to make sure I would make it to Limbus or some other event on time. Now my wife has stated she will kill me in my sleep if I plan any endgame on my days off before 10pm XD

Honestly, Raes (yet again) put it best, MMOs do take up a lot of time, and you need to make sure you have all your priorities straight from the get go.

we should all just quit online games and swear them off for eternity.
