Why do you still play?

Took the words right out of my mouth. If I didn't have good friends like Eleibfrid, Aidyn, Shyrra and countless more, I wouldn't keep coming back and keep playing.
 
Idk why I play still, except for friends and LS, I hardly xp, been in the 60s for years.
I have been contemplating starting LotRO when it releases, but would need to upgrade PC, as I've been playin XI on ps2.
 
To finaly beat those damn Story lines and to get that craft to 100.

i am not currently playing, cuz, i dont have a psu;;

i honestly have not played for almost 2 weeks now, and its really not bothering me much. it did at first, but, eh, im over it i guess.

i do miss my friends in game, and am still excited to get back on the game, but its my longest break in a few years and i cant say its as bad as i thought itd be.

anyhow, i wont be quitting for a long time yet, i still have lots of things to do, and adventures with friends :)

however, whenever that day is, i will be very happy with what ive done... because i have fortunately, not neglected friends, family, or anyone, and just used it as a cheap source of entertainment instead of blowing money all over the place going out ;)

see you in game in less than a week hopefully.
 
Hmm, I've had 2 seperate 8 week odd breaks now throughout the time I've played. I just did something else. I can safely say I'm not affected.
 
I'm going to go with friends also. I mean i played wow but it annoyed me. Probably because it attracts different types of people. So i have returned because i prefer the community and friends on FFXI. Well those who still play.

i quit once, came back, i play this game bcz i miss my friends. this game is different unlike other games i played : oblvion / simcity, in the fact that it is alive, literally.

:3 howdy, welp right now i guess i wanna go on a little break. I wanna finish zelda, then play God or war 2 and sonic and the secret rings. I guess i'll still be log'd in if anyone wants me.
 
Theres no one in any MMO that will keep me attached to any game. I don't get attached to virtual stuff.

Virtual stuff acts as motivators only, and once you don't have any around its a lot easier to no longer login. So if you want to quit, just seperate yourself from the virtual things that keep you around.

Yeah the people I have come to care for a great deal on and off game are the ones who keep me coming back to play more. FFXI continues to be something we can do together and always find something fun to get into no matter how far away we live. As long as they're on FF I will likely be too.

dam yeah i wish i could just put this game down. i don't even play, i'm just on and afk. lifes too hectic to even be worrying about a silly game.

i play because a few people on the server have an amazing sense of creativity and ability to relay information in the most convincing of ways no matter how bizzare, imaginary, or false it is! it's relaxing ^^

Naokochan, Sabia, Avariel, Starks, Seteyu, Lordmace, Lrron, Ukyia, Alexxia, Igor/Loofa, Skreb, Kinkkerbelle, Rizli, Freez Laoban/Lavitz/Fist, and if you're in game before enough of the above quit to make me quit, Deviantkat - those people, in no particular order (and I pray I didn't forget someone - it's 4am), are the reason I log in. Those are the people I /sea for and cure their parties, or show up in location just to wave or help. Without the above I'd have noone to talk to, and at that point I'd quit. Yeah, when I hit 75, FFXI turned from an RPG to an interactive chat room. I've lost the motivation to really make progress so to speak, but I like hanging out with virtual friends. Those are the people who talk to me most, and those are the people that make 12.95 a month a good investment.

Every day I meet new and interesting people on this game, we may be far apart in real life but the gameplay of this facinating world draws us to one another, a sense of good feeling is often the reason I keep on going back to FFXI. :)
