Window 7 had been released! Who gonna get it?

My order shipped, when i order vista, it came with free upgrade coupon to window 7.


Does anyone know if you install upgrade from vista to window 7, do you need to reformat everything? or the upgrade won't harm the program and driver itself?
 
I already pre-ordered the Professional edition, my disc should be delivered in a day or two.

You should be able to just install 7 over vista, but it'd be better to do a format and reinstall; it generally is a better idea to install an OS on a clean hard drive.
 
I've had Windows 7 Professional for a couple of months now.

I'll be buying it for the desktops at home as well.

If you're a Windows user, and haven't used Win7 yet, I pity you, for you should do so immediately.
 
I've been using 7 for about a month, and so far, I can't find any complaints about it.
 
Ordered mine through the student upgrade program and got professional for $30 bucks. Disc should be on the way today. :)
 
i have been using it for awhile as well, and i really love it. While i loathed vista i cant seem to find a reason to dislike 7. and i keep finding new shit to do in it!
 
My store did a "midnight release" of windows 7 last night; I thought it was stupid. It's not a movie/game/book; they'd have to go home and spend a few hours installing/updating it on their old computer so getting it at midnight had no point.

Just out of curiosity, why ultimate? The only thing I could see they added over professional was it came with 35 languages and some default programs that you can get free stuff that would do a better job.

Wait how did you get it for free? Just cause you bought Vista a couple of years ago? o.O
 
I bought Vista a couple months ago and it came with a coupon to upgrade my burger.

No I actually bought this PC like 3 weeks ago. If it didn't come with the free windows 7 I would of probably bought a mac lmao.


I think it's just to make sure people keep buying even though windows 7 is just around the corner.
 
I work at best buy and some windows guru douche came in at a meeting we had, told us about 7, and give us a link to goto to take some Windows 7 tests which would lets us get windows 7 ultimate for 10 bucks. Well the only problem was he told us about it AFTER microsoft ran out of NFR copies so i wasted my fuckin time doin all the tests to get shit. So i got 7 Pro through school for 30 bucks, not a big deal but still kinda weak. Got it now, gonna back up all my shit and start installing it.
 
They did that with PCs sold a few months prior to Vista's release, too... free Vista upgrade if you asked for one.
 
Wow nice for you >.>, however It seems Microsoft is allowing students to purchase it for $30 bucks, as long as they do so before the start of the new year =o
