Man, I was gonna post a feedback thread regarding this, but honestly, given the bias I've seen in this thread, what's the use? The rule here is apparently "No cheats, except the ones people like", and I don't honestly see that changing.
This was the problem that was obvious from the very beginning when the windower defaulted to use cheat plugins and SE did nothing regarding it. Now, here we are years later, and the community feels it's not just acceptable, but they're entitled to do as they please in someone else's sandbox. I guess that's why this isn't going to change, as people as a whole are highly unlikely to admit that they're doing something wrong by doing something they were specifically told not to.
Even more of a disappointment is the apparent opinion of this website that the players, not the owners of FFXI are the ones who decide the rules (or at least choose to make exceptions based on their standards, and not those of Square-Enix)
I'd always known when SE added a windowed mode, it would separate those who wanted to legitimately be able to run their game in a window from those who were in it for the plugins. It's just depressing seeing the end result. Oh well.
Edit: In addition, to make a further point of what I've said, several posters here appear to be violently attached to the use of these tools, resorting to name-calling and expletives when someone calls it for what it is...
