Summoner were added in RoZ. And LMAO at scholar comment xDSE's gonna make a new mage job, a new DD/maybetankthatnoonewilluseasatank job, and a unique job that'll fail horribly.
At least, there weren't any mages in RoZ. Maybe this time it'll be all mages, but I'm leaning more to what I said above.
Europe has Red Mage too
If you want something US's turn, you'll get a fat chocobo knight.
Well, it would be a new pet job. It'd be almost identical to DRG. I'd actually say Chocobo Knight is its ancestor.Wow, all joking aside, what if Chocobo Knight (CHK) could be a new job? Kind of a warrior type, having A+ in Polearms, and requiring a "Battle Chocobo" for battle?
That's not an issue in most cases, though. No, it can not keep up to warriors, monks and ninjas. But those are a unique situation. you can't say they're horribly broken just because they're not as WAR, MNK and NINMerits might be nice in how they function, but it doesn't fix the crippling "less damage for more TP deliverance" issues.
And no, summoners were released just before RoZ expansion as an example of what's coming up. So technically it was part of the expansion, but released like a month before it.summoner was around the very beginning no?
it just got more and more avatars added starting with the first expansion and onward like ramuch etc.
Hello!
I realize you may get a lot of these suggestions. For what its worth, I decided to attempt to join the myriad of sometimes crazy, or perhaps even insane ideas that litter your in box. I am sure you are well aware that your player base have most likely played previous Final Fantasy games, and were up above their shoulders in joy after the Blue Mage announcement in the previous expansion.
I were one of them.
While you are most likely done with creating the jobs for the new expansion pack, I decided to at least send my suggestion in the off-chance that you are not. Even if you decide to not follow up on it, I at least tried. And you might still consider it for a later expansion.
One job I consider lacking from this game, are one of my favorite jobs from some of the previous games - Final Fantasy VII comes to mind - The Mimic.
As you may or may not know, the job is based around copying others. Merely copying other jobs would, to say the least, be somewhat useless, as you might as well play that job. However, I believe it could be implemented by having them focus on melee capabilities, and merely make copying other jobs come secondary. Giving them a 269 skill weapon, melee stats, and a small MP pool, similar to Dark Knight and Paladin would suffice. Somewhere during their career, you could give them two abilities. The first one, with a two minute recast time, allows them to cast any magic currently available to players in the party. He can not cast spells which are currently counting down. The second ability, attained at a higher level, with a ten minute cool down, allows the Mimic to use any job ability currently available to the party, under the same restrictions as magic, meaning that he could not use, for example, Berserk unless someone in the party can use it at that time as well.
Having a job work similar to this would, I believe, add a new level of game play and communication, as the players would need to keep in contact with each other to make sure one does not waste the ability.
The second job I had in mind that I am sure a large majority of the player base would be overjoyed about, is the Chocobo Knight. You would not be allowed to ride the chocobo, but rather, the chocobo would be a pet of yours. A companion. I am sure that the city in the past in your new expansion Wings of the Goddess have a Chocobo Stable. At this place, you could raise your chocobo, which would then be your pet. Your chocobo levels up separate of you, the master, but can not be above the level of the Chocobo Knight. It would be similar to Blue Mage, in that you need to spend time outside of leveling in order to make your chocobo better. As it grows in levels, it will evolve from a chick, in to a full-fledged chocobo, that you can then bring in to battle. As it grows stronger, you need to teach it new abilities to use in battle. Additionally, you could equip it with various enhancements in order to improve it in various areas. For example, equipping its beak with various items would affect its melee damage. You could also evolve it further, in that feeding it various items during battle could give different effects. As an example, one item could give it a temporary Regen effect, while another item gives it a temporary weak Haste effect to increase its attack speed slightly.
Sincerely;
Uzor, Quetzalcoatl

You're right. I'm not saying make them comparable to the 50 damage, 150 delay hits Monks perform.
For their damage, however, pet jobs just simply give targets too much TP.
And the more moves that are added to monsters to punish Utsusemi curtaining, the worst it becomes.
That'd be a start, but still falls a bit short.A good fix would be to make all pets give 0 TP.

Correction, any 2-handed melee without sublte blow simply gives too much TPDark Knight gives a lot of TP. DRG gives a lot of TP, even without their pets out.
Another easy way to fix most melee jobs, DRG included, is changing the way 2-handed weapons work completely. Would also make Great Axe Warriors better.
