:shock:any loss of life prematurly IMO is a tragedy, apperantly we have vastly different views on the meaning of the word. I'm sure the poor, elderly, orphaned, and those with no where to go in a city with no plan that recieved no help until it was almost too late will be pleased to know they could have evacuated. I'm sure the people murdered, raped, molested, and left to starve in the superdome and civic colleseum will be glad to know they weren't captive either. :roll:

I stand by that comment, everything else you can think of up until this point has warranted 20 threads whereas this is the 3rd ... i was just curious what that was all about >.>
 
I would also note that while a hurricane is a disaster a levy people had been warned about for years busting and flooding a metropolitan area that goes on to not recieve help for 4 days or better is a tragedy in every sense of the word as just like a bombing if the right people had done the right thing at the right time it could have been completely avoided.
 
anyone thought that he was stealing candy bars becuase most of the other food was alrdy gone? maybe he was a late-comer and missed all the good food? or he was no where near any wal-mart or sumthing ? and had to eat sumthing? hell, i know i would take some candy bars if it was all that i culd find at the time... and i bet you would too

Getting out of the inner city before the storm hits, is still getting to someplace better, even if you have to walk there. The fact that theres so much water in tight places like that is the biggest problem with getting help to peopl ein those areas.
 
oh, if u didnt notice, 99% of all ppl who didnt evacuate are black... thats the fact.. most of them didnt have the resouces to leave thier homes... sad... thats sad :cry: :cry:

you know why? CNN did a lil blab about most of the ppl still in the city are poor black people... they got no where else to go or anything left for them :'( :cry: :cry:

nonononono, not at all. I'm well aware that alot of people hung out to take advantage of this and find it deplorable. I don't think there's much difference between this and a terrorist attack tho.
 
I didn't mean that the outcome is much difference, just the method.

If you're faced with being on the receiving end on a terrorist attack, most likely you're being forced by them in that situation, where as the option to evacuate/get somewhere safer in a high calibur store is 99% free will.
 
Fair enough but at the same time in this instance there was YEARS warning about the levy and more than 5 days preceeding the storm for relief/evacuation efforts to begin. There's also that week or so (just a bit less) that people sat around starving in front of cameras and the lack of acceptance of foreign aid that would allow for the interpretation of captive audience on those who were not staying behind with malicious intent.

As it stands i'm satisfied. All i was looking for was a explination from cubs about what cubs used as his sig, which i got and agreed with wholeheartedly. The only reason the thread degenerated before that explination/perspective was provided was thanks to meeze being a jerk-off without having facts behind him.

I could have asked for the explination in a more suitable manner but at the time i was just kinda shocked by what i saw and for that i do appologize, cubs. You can't tell me you couldn't have imagined someone getting irked and asking wtf that was about when making it tho :P
