Wtf cubs -.-

ok this might not make sence to you people that still have a house to live in but New Orleans is covered in 10 FEET OF WATER. ....... don't blame them or doing what the're doing .... This wouldn't of even happened if the government would of fixed the levies before theyt broke.... And we knew the LEVIES WERE BROKE 20+ YEARS AGO.......

you do know.. Bush is not the first president to go to war with a nation without the house's approval right? It's nothing new.. been happening for over 50 years. I forget what the first president called it to make it not a "war" but something else... when it really was a war...

I agree with you Shaunessy. This goes a lot further back then Bush or Clinton or Bush v1.0. It's all about politics and money. Louisianna (like Oklahoma) is a relatively poor state with a relatively small population. Both state have really only 2 urban areas and only 1 major city each. That makes both LA and OK politically insignificant. Especially since neither directly controls any economically or strategically vital asset. The people who hold the purse-strings in D.C. that could've, would've, should've financed the rebuilding of the levies (to prepare for a worst-case scenario hurricane), don't see the people of Louisianna or New Orleans in particular as a must-have voter base. They are politically expendable. Think about it like this, do you think those levies would have been built to sustain a Cat-5 storm if it had been say....Houston, New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, et al? Of course it would have. Not only do those cities have more people than New Orleans (which means more votes) but the states those cities are located in mean more electoral votes, more votes on Capitol Hill, more national economic impact. This isn't the failure of a president or a Congress or even a single party. It's the failure of the entire system, on every level and it goes back many decades.

Ok lets go political then.....

You mean like how he needed congressional approval to go to war and he didn't and just went ahead and put us in war anyway?

When you talk about a person who strong arms the entire government into doing things that he legally isn't supposed to do, you hold him responsible.

Sheesh why do black people always have to be the ones to take most advantage of this type of situation? Just like the riots in Cali 13 years ago or so...

Fucking rap music telling the kids they need to bling bling nowadays. Probably why most of them drive 200 dollar cars with 5,000 dollar rims.

Or let me guess, is this just the WHITE MEDIA making them look bad again? Give me a fucking break. Shoot this filth on sight National Guard, please.

Because, the ppl remaining in those areas are mainly black ppl.
Because, if a large portion of the population in New Orleans in the past week is black, you have a large portion of ppl looting who is black.

So true... :(
But rap music isn't all about that.

Sooo, you're basically saying that black ppl will get much more money and aids than whites or greens or blues because of WHITE MEDIA?
Anyway : what are you trying to say?

damn, you're harsh.

but ya broke black folks act a fool because tree hugging white people give them license to do so. america is so ashamed of the racism in its history that they write off these dumb fucks actions as survival and are glad to see it happening.

i took an english class once in high school. the materials were "Black like me" one of the dumbest books i've read. it consisted of a fat white guy who colored his face black and instantly felt the plight of the black man. a bunch of alex haley, the cage bird sings stuff like that that. the whole year was filled with a white lady telling the class how awful blacks have had it, keep in mind this was at a primarily white school near berkeley.

meanwhile back in my neighborhood there were the black folks i had hung out with the first two years of high school, selling drugs, getting high/drunk, collecting general assistance and living with thier baby momma's who had section 8.

i knew fools who's total household rent was $75 dollars, and the mother fuckers were still late. they would pay a full 4 months late, and catch themselves up, stay on schedule for a couple months, then go late again for a while. meanwhile he was buying all the dumb shit like gold fronts (early 90's before the big gold teeth explosion) a box chev with 4 15's in the trunk and gold wire rims. but his baby momma still came around asking where money was for baby formula and diapers. guess how he got them. he went grocery shopping, put the expensive formula and diapers in the under part of the shopping cart and paid for beer and snacks. walked out with the rest.

from the block i lived on, 50th and melrose in east oakland, three people aren't still there selling drugs, dead or in jail. Me, my friend/barber jovan, and dru down who somehow got a record deal and a hit with "Pimp of the year" in 93. thats out of about 50 people that used to hang out there.

what makes me and jovan so different? when i was doing what i did my mom and aunt, who were buying the house we were living in, were in mexico taking care of grandmother. i was left to pay the mortgage, my mom said get a job, i did. at that age it was a good way to make the 1100 a month and being known in my neighborhood i got regular knocks without much problem. my mom came back after buring my grandma, and my aunt who, after her mom died, decided it was her time as well.

i went to juvinile hall shortly after and when i got out a few months later my mom had gotten booted from her house and was living in a shitty one bedroom. i went back to the block, but when i gave my mom money she threw me out the house. so i quit. went back to school and learned how hard black people had it from white people who were ashamed of thier past.

jovan was a product of the same enviornment, one day he decided he wanted to have things the right way and went to barber school and got into the barbershop we used to go to. he drives a lexus now, not the newest model, but its a 2k1 and still looks nice

what made us decide we weren't going to be a sore in our community and become succesful. we have the same story as everyone else, mine a little less harsh i had both parents, but was pretty much mad at my dad at the time for leaving, but jovans dad was killed before he knew him, and his mom was a drug addict so he lived with his aunt, who wasn't much better. pretty much the same stories you see through all the people on that block, and we didn't stay to be pieces of shit.

i looted during the rodney king riots in berkeley on telegraph. i looted cause i wanted designer shit, got my first pair of jordans that day. they looted because "they were oppressed" and this was payback

how long will the poor blacks of our country use that to justify their actions, how long will whites allow them to use that as their get out of jail free card?

If you are so naive to say that New Orleans did not deserve what happened, get fucked.

That city was the most disgusting city I have ever been too.

o-m-g that has to be one of the most ignorant statements i have ever heard. When did you go Krono? During mardi gras maybe, or perhaps Southern Decadence? Even during those events the majority of the city and it's surrounding areas functions like a normal place. Art, Music, Food, Cajun/Creole culture, and history all flourished in that city. There is a lot more too it than the french quarter, and there is a lot more to the french quarter than Bourbon st. Also note, the people who participate in these events are TOURISTS, many natives of the city often LEAVE TOWN for Mardi Gras because it's so overcrowded, loud and annoying. The people you are using to judge the city are for the most part not from it and may very well come from your own town.

Looting: As far as I am concerned if it was food stuffs (including candy) or clothing or mattresses from the hotels, it was fine. Hell, even alcohol (except wallgreens guys, it’s a dry store) would be understandable, who the fuck would want to be sober in that hell hole. The majority of looters I think fell under the category of need. BTW the 2 Walgreens they showed the majority of footage of had at least 2 rows dedicated to food and bottled drinks. The ass holes who took electronics, medication (though who knows, maybe some of that was out of need as well... not like you can get hopped up on blood pressure meds) and of all things GUNs... I hope they drop dead, because they have made out anyone who tried to fend for themselves into nothing more but another looter.

In regard to people ‘refusing’ leaving the city, and just sitting it out... if you go to the “reality sucks” area, you will see that some of the people who play this game said they were just going to “ride it out”. I personally know Zaltana and his Girl Friend, and you know what, I bet if they could have gotten out they would have. “I’m just going to ride it out.” is mostly said by people who cannot get out, and don’t want to make it out to be something they are forced to do.

Fact: 65% of the city is African American.

Fact:: 26.59% of the population is Caucasian.

That leaves ~10% more who are mostly made up of people who look black but call themselves Creole, along with Vietnamese, a handful of Latino’s, and scattered other ethnic groups.

Fact: New Orleans is one of the poorest cities in the nation.

Fact: The majority of people use public transit to get around because they cannot afford cars.

Fact: the majority of the population lives check to check and doesn’t have credit cards which are a requirement to rent cars.

Fact: Most of the cars available in the city were gone by Saturday night.

For those of you who want to make this an issue of race, look at the demographics of the area first. Yeah, the majority of the people that were still in the city were of a “minority group” but they happen to be the majority group in the city. Most of the wealthier people live in suburbs of the city, or are people who work at the colleges and hospitals. Those people have cars, they have means to make it out, not because of their race but because of their education and situation... because they were, for the most part, imports to the city. If you have lived in New Orleans all your life, chances are you got a shitty education, lived in a piss poor family, and are piss poor yourself, regardless of the color of your skin. This supercedes race.

Mandatary evacuation wasn’t called until Sunday. Many people who had waited until Sunday morning ended up turning around and not being able to get out at all because of traffic. Personally I helped a family find a different way out before cell phones became completely useless. To the political issues of this situation, the mayor should have mobilized the RTA busses to get people out and Baton Rouge or Alexandria should have set up a tent city of sorts. The levee systems themselves should have been better made, we were going to get hit by a cat 4+ someday. There are lots of things that *should* have been done, but frankly I don’t think now is the time to talk about that and even when it is time to talk about how things could have been done better, it should be within the context of “how are we going to make this better next time” not “Oh wow, y’all fucked up big time.”

The signature is tasteless, but whatever... The quoted comment above is repulsive... Are you going to say that a 3rd world nation’s city deserves to be wiped off the map because it is dirty? Because they have questionable things go on every day, as apposed to 2 times a year? Are you going to say that Mississippi and Alabama also deserved to get hit? Because New Orleans isn’t the only place that got destroyed here. What about the other areas in LA? Grand Isle, the low land towns. You are a fucking ignorant bastard, something that should not be even compared to humans... no human could wish this on another. /ignore and /blacklist add

haha, thought that was funny. they call the black man a looter while the white people "found" their food.
