WTF is up with racist ppl?

Well, one thing. I know it's been said, but what makes you think you can call someone gay and then complain about somebody said because you're black, you steal? If you were gay, you wouldn't someone else calling you gay.

lol, ok I'll pretend this all made sense for a min. If I was gay and someone called me gay I would not think it was an insult. It would be the truth. And hypothetically if I was gay I probably wouldn't see it as a bad thing. I would however question why the person was stating the obvious. But... hypothetically if I was gay and you said gay people masturbate to pictures of Michael Jackson then I would take offense because now you're trying to make something that isn't true apply to all gay people. That's prejudice. No one said all cowards or anything like that and I don't like having my words twisted just so ppl can have ammunition.

The original comment had nothing to do with gay people just like calling someone a "sissy" has nothing to do with gay people or women, just like calling someone "fruitcake" has nothing to do with gay people. These are simply insults to a person's manhood. I've never seen a woman get offended because a guy called another guy a girl or a sissy (sissy can relate to being a girl or just being effiminate. Does it mean all women are scared? No. It's not making a statement about women. It's making statement about the guy). However, some people seem to jump in front of traffic just so they can sue. What matters in communication is intent not content.

In regards to your responses to me from page 5 (i could laundry list it but i'm feeling lazy.)

I, not for lack of trying, have failed to show you the irony in your posts. The fact that you percieve yourself as under fire does not allow for you to see the humor in my posts, i'm use to that, it's understandable. The point i was illustrating is that while you complain about the derogatory comments of others you yourself made statements that people are intollerant of. Your point was sound and just, just vocalized horribly.

Many inferences could and were drawn from your OP to your responses that garnered the wrong kind of attention, this does not make you a horrible person worthy of contempt, it's simply in the nature of people to get combative over issues of this nature.

I could swear in your OP you said that the comment about black people was made to your friend. If i misunderstood and it was directed to you over your friend's osode, my appologies, that's truly fucked up and i s'pose that's one point i had completely wrong and shouldn't have commented to if that is indeed the case.

Fruitcake is not a gay exclusive insult. I know people who are nuttier than fruitcakes, it doesn't mean they shove walnuts up their ass, they're simply crazy. I also know people who are afraid of their shadows who get called fruitcakes. Just because you insecurely connotate fruitcake with gay doesn't mean that's what i meant, head i wanted to call someone gay i could do alot better than that.

This begs the quote:

For those who might be illiterate out there... I was not saying all white ppl are guilty of stealing America. I was saying you DONT see me out there saying that as if all white did it. Furthermore, "at least white ppl LET them build casinos" WTF!? That's not funny. You may think its funny what happened to Native and African Americans enough to joke about it. But its my right not to share your views and to be of the opinion that your views are just as ignorant as Trancos's racist statement. My whole point is that members of a race are not responsible for actions committed by other members of the same race.

Zealot X said:
How bout I email you my address and you can say that shit to my face. You don't see me telling every white person they're dishonest like the ppl who stole America from Native Americans and called it manifest destiney.

You make the call about the whole reading comprehension bit. It's truly hard to take you seriously. Saying that you're not out there shouting it but you could is basicly the same as shouting it from the highest rooftop.

Zealot X said:
Does it mean I hate gay people? NO. Would I call a gay person gay? NO. Why state the obvious like that? That's dumb. This would be like saying "OH well you're white" Yeah? So? Unless its a bad thing to you then theirs no reason to feel oppressed. I wouldn't care if someone said "Oh well you're black" Yeah, I'm proud to be black. That's not the same as saying "Oh well you're black so you steal stuff and are dishonest". So stop trying to compare the two. Even if you make a racial joke to someone, it is different if they know you are joking. But if that's how you really honestly feel and its not a joke the person is within their rights to get offended.

And you got offended at my post response to this, i don't get it. Why wouldn't you call a gay person gay? That statement lacks backbone, pardon my disrespect for the spineless. That was all my response dealt with, you're certainly right about the line between "hey you're black" the observation and "hey you're black, you must steal things, right?" the ignorant statement.

Did you choose to start speaking or was it a learned behavior you got from your parents. Though irrelevant to this discussion ppl keep trying to make points for the acceptance of homosexuality. People do NOT have to accept it. It may be normal for homosexuals but that doesn't make it NATURAL. And it is not ignorant to have a difference of opinion on this. I'm not going to suddenly say something is okay just because x% decides to start doing it. You don't get to vote on what's right and wrong. I don't care if 30% of the population wanted to make a case for being able to rape drunk women. Right and wrong don't get to be voted on in the court of public opinion. And no its not that I wont agree. I CANNOT agree. And no one is here "applying" for good thread. A true flame is for the benefit of the one doing the flaming. I couldn't care less of what 1 person says to try to make their opinion significant.

If you want to put it in that context, did Ted Bundy's parents kill people? My mother was single and never married, yet here i sit domestic and happy with my wife. She quit smoking when i was too young to remember, yet i smoke and made the choice under my own power, i would argue that some things transcend the values your taught by your parents. The point stands, wether or not you desire to agree with it is irrelivant. Racism/sexism/homophobia aren't natural or normal however they are accepted more often than not. What's normal and natural are minding your own business and not worrying about things that other people do that don't concern you. Your opinions on the matter may well be valid to people, but you can't discredit the opinions of others simply because they are in opposition to you. You, apperantly, don't watch much news or know much about the concept of a democratic government. Right and wrong are solely judged in the public forum. If the court system legalized crack i'm sure public would force a change in short order.

In closing i would say that you are a reasonably intelligent person who caught heat for some bad irony, no worse no less. There are some holes in the credibilty of your opinions which people wanted to point out as it detracted from the validity of your point. It's sad, but don't think for a second i find this a self-serving ego thing. I find these boards and the FB in particular fascinating simply for the dynamic conversations that occasionally pops up. I enjoy being able to have serious conversation that borders on tongue in cheek without people acting childish and immature when caught in the quagmire of conversation based on personal opinion. All in all i don't think you're racist in a hateful way, i seriously doubt you'd make a critical assumption of someone based on race or any other factor.

Racism still exists because ppl ignore it too much. We don't talk about how stupid and ignorant it is enough in their presence. And because they have all these false assumptions they never get to know people of that race who they're talking about. Unless you've seen all the ppl you know in FFXI on ffxiplayers you may be friends with a person of a race you dont even like. I think that's a good thing. And when people get offended and say something back I think that's also a good thing. I'm not Martin Luther King. My dream is not non-violent. And its not sadness I feel. It's anger. Will there always be people that make us angry? Of course. That doesn't mean you stop getting angry. There may be racism but you never ever have to accept it. Unfortunately a flame on QCDN is the best I can do in protest.

This post was awesome, precise, and to the point. Made you look very good from the standpoint of opinion and i still think it's the best you've done in this thread. Don't let me get you down, i just call em as i see em. It was just kinda hard to take the other posts seriously. :)

Friend of mine accidentally put in his search comment "Scorpion Harness 1.1 mil". Trancos came to him and requested that they trade the harness. My friend said ok and they traded, and the poor guy never noticed that Trancos gave him 1.1 mil. My friend has been taken advantage of in his tired state.

How was your friend taken advantage of? Trancos gave him his asking price. He didn't have to ask him if he put a decimal in the wrong spot. If your friend was stupid enough to put in his bazaar comment that it was 1.1 mil, then by all means someone could buy it from him for that much. There is nothing wrong with that.

I understand your point. It's basic capitalism to take advantage of any and everything in the process of making money. If he had done it on the AH it would indeed be a loss if the buyer wasn't willing to forgive his mistake. The real issue is forgiveness. The seller's mistake was not forgiven because it was in the best interest of the buy not to. Simple as that. Now an HONEST person might alert a sales clerk that an item appears to be mislabeled instead of rushing to buy it before anyone notices. And an HONEST person just might have returned the SH, especially since the mistake wasn't realized 3 days later but immediately after the trade. Trancos took advantage of the seller's mistake plain and simple. Finders keepers loser weepers, but that doesn't make the finder an honest person if the loser is right there and he decides not to return the lost item. So "in MY BOOK" that makes Trancos dishonest and capable of stealing my friend's Osode. Because how do I know that he wouldn't consider lending the Osode a mistake that he doesn't have to forgive? How I know he wont yet again be the finder and allow my friend to be the loser? Personally, I would have returned it or paid the other 10mil.

The Harness in the Bazar was 11 million, the search comment said 1.1 mil. As requested the harness transition was done by trade, and 1.1 million was the trade. My friend should have just left it in the Bazare.

On a side note, sort of on topic sort of off topic...

Most gay peple I know, I call em "Sissy Fags".

Even tho a majority of them could kick my ass. But they are my friends so after I call em a sissy fag, they make fun of me for wanting to stick my cock in a "Nasty wet clam smelling gash".

whats the big deal anyways i call black people niggers to there face all the time and i call gay people fags and mexicans spicks (like neosquall)

Unfortunately alot of people don't understand that there's a whole generation of people out there that are becoming less and less PC. This attitude leads the lesser-minded to throw the racism flag as opposed to just letting it go. Calling someone what they are is one thing stereotyping:

Hey, you're mexican, come water my lawn.
Hey, you're black, steal my stuff and sell it for the crack.
Hey, you're white, oppress and exploit someone today?
Hey, you're asian, help me out with my calculus homework?

I can dig that as offensive to some people, personally i just think it's funny.

Mexicans aren't spics, it's Puerto Ricans. Don't change our countries. ;)

I'm a spic, and proud of it, hehe. If you expect me to mow your lawn or fix your sink or whatever the hell you think I do, I'll just gladly flip you off and go on studying for my Chemistry test.

Are you racist? Too bad for you, but I don't give a shit. Just don't try to force me to do anything, or try to injure me, then we'll have problems.

¿Comprendes?

Actually spic is a euphamism to describe anyone of hispanic origin, this includes every indiginous population of south america as well as places that were settled by the spanish, no one place can claim exclusivity on a racial slur, you're just being egotistical.

About the worst i've heard in general specific to puerto ricans is the word "greasy" attached to spic or just plain ole "greasy puerto rican" followed by something about washing my dishes, but that could just be a local thing.... you'd have to meet Trippy's cousin to completely understand.

I think the point is people could benefit from not being so dead serious on the race issue all the time. You've been an excellent sport about it. :D
