You don't have to cheat to be sucessfull at end game!!!

Osode was the #1 piece of body gear for RNG, and while Kyudogi+1 is better, its still nigh-attainable.

And osode on BRD is junk. Its for meriting, maybe, if you dont have Yigit body/Manteel. Errant has the same relevant stats (MND and CHR) with the -3 enmity which is usefull because songs are rather high on the hate ranking relatively.

Osode is probably the best choice for BRD to use pulling in merit parties if competition is not too fierce for added DEF. Of course it depends where you are meriting and how much competition. Yigit body/Manteel for highly competitive environment to get those claims faster. As a BRD and a SAM I felt it was best to leave the Osodes to the RNG's, MNK's, NIN's, and use this instead.

Choral Justacorps +1

DEF 45
HP+20
VIT +10
CHR +10
Enmity -3
String Instrument Skill +6

I've been pulling on my BRD since lvl 40 and i can usualy stay ahead of mobs (excluding fast type) without problem. The -% cast time is for your buffs, because getting your party to stay in place long enough to land songs on them is no easy task, so the faster you can get the song out, the shorter the time you need them not to move.

You're an idiot though.. when it came to enfeebling (success, not potencywhich is what MND and INT do) I had more than anyone I know at the time I played. And enfeebling macro. I had about 324 and would have had more if I was windurst... I also would have much more by now cause by now I woulda had my duelist chapeau. Tell me, success rate based on Enfeebling alone.. why was a BLM or WHM with far less enfeebling magic having the same success rate?

Lol calling BS on that cause I had more then you.

Yeah, but you were just a curebot back then, so you don't count.

I am talking about merit party's in the thickets or mire when it is overcrowded. 3 bards wandering around, no mobs left, one pops, the faster casting bard will get the claim. I dont have either Yigit body or Manteel and have experienced this several times. Same here Firestreak, I get hit often pulling in merit party's, this is why I usually eat Tavnazian Taco's to help boost defense as well. Extra CHR and MP doesn't hurt either.

1 m.acc ~= 2 skill

Chausable is better for elemental.

I don't believe that was ever confirmed. If it was then the head peice would be like +16 to all magic skills?

I don't think so....

I don't really buy that either, since accuracy doesn't work that way for physical skills, so I don't see how magic accuracy would be stronger than skill. Plus, if it really was better than skill, I wouldn't hear red mages talk about how worthless the wise set is all the time.

Examples of floors. As a RDM/WHM I have mostly had 0 staff skill (it's 9 now, but it might as well be zero). I can still hit VTs although only about 10%. based on my accuracy, mostly derived from skill, I should never hit them.

Rdms don't get a Staff Skill...

So am I because at most, assuming 8/8 Merits, you would only have had 317...

You didn't have a Duelist Chapeau, Nashira Serawells, Altrustic Cape, or Master Caster Braceletts (which you admit your not from windy) and don't tell me your counting that stupid Thanatos Baselard which any fool knows staffs work far better.

And I have 342 Enfeebling Skill (not counting crappy Master Casters or Dagger) and I do enfeeble better then a blm or whm so get outta here with all that.

I'm a RDM/WHM... we do.

We don't get skill ups or weapons skills. Rdms inherently don't get the skill but we can use the staff. Yes you see the skill from your /whm but it's not based on that. It's based on some arbatrary invisible skill number SE stuck us with. To be honest I'm not sure but I hit with a staff far too often then someone with a zero or nine skill could.

Edit: If I had to guess maybe E rating? It's definitly crappy.

Of course we don't. But if you read my post it referred to my accuarcy of regular hits at low skill. Nothing to do with WS's (which you don't have access to at 9 skill anyway) or skillups.

Why do you think that some invisible skill number is used when using a subjob skill, and not the Skill level that is listed in the menu?

Because if it were based on sub job skill you would get Heavy Swing at level 10 but you don't. But if you sub rng you do get Flaming Arrow which is based on the rng sub job at level 10.

If you sub thf the Staff Skill disappears but you can still use a staff and you will still hit the mob. Albiet as I said as if you had an E skill not a 0 skill.

I'm saying a dagger which is inherent to our job with say a 9 skill would of been a more appropriate example of the explaination of the floor you were giving.

Err.. no you wouldn't. Each Weaponskill is only usable by certain jobs...

And you will still hit the mob occasionally at zero skill, because there is an accuracy floor as well as a ceiling. That's what my original post is about...
