It's not a wrinkle in the shell, it's a wrinkle in dynamis. So is putting 64 people on a bridge in windurst. It doesn't work well. The logistics are not very practical.

But what are you going to do? Whine that dynamis doesn't work and never try? It's better to never try than to gain it all and then lose it to atrophy and decay? Dynamis is like marriage. 50% divorce rate. Honeymoon ends eventually no matter how high you go. Isn't that worth it though?

Well, considering just about every other endgame activity, Dynamis has the most risk for arguably the least reward (relic weapons notwithstanding.)

ZMs: In the same boat as Dynamis. Once you get through ZM12 (and possibly Divine Might for the earring) what's the incentive for finishing up ZM17? None. That's why there are tons of people on ZM13 or 15 or whatever. You fight that last battle for nothing.

Sky: Quality gear, 10+ million gil drops from gods, excellent XP areas.

Sea/CoP: Amazing reward for finishing via the endgame ring. New XP areas, ENM access, Diabolos drops, Bahamut fight. Not to mention one of the best/the best FF storyline to date. Jailers leave something to be desired. Will lose tons of XP getting to Sea.

HNMs: Again, great gear, sellable drops, added challenge due to SSJ timers.

Limbus: Has some of the same problems as Dynamis, but the Proto fights provide good gear and some AF+1 upgrades are a steal. Not to mention certain jobs can go solo a floor of Apollyon and get 2+ million in drops for a 50k entry fee.

Dynamis: Cheap entry fee with 50+. Relic (and now Relic +1) drops good for some jobs (see Limbus) and good storyline. Once cleared, no real purpose to return (though this has been somewhat alleviated due to 3 new zones + Dynamis-Tavnazia coming eventually.) Second biggest XP sink endgame, right behind CoP missions.

Taking into account the things people have told me about Dynamis, it's more like a loveless marriage you get into because your biological clock went off and you just didn't want to spend any more time alone.

all this noise and nobody has the balls to call him out and say he bought gil.

So what's your point in the end, cubs? You've got to be going somewhere with this, and it can't be to tell me that starting a dynamis shell was a mistake.

you must understand that cubs is a jobless bitch

he has no coherent thoughts and masturbates to beastiality.

cubs you know the sad thing is that it's true, you may convince people otherwise, but you and i know for a fact that you masturbate to beastility porn on a regular basis.

Back on topic.

In the end, my point, basically, is that while every endgame shell (Sea, Sky, HNM, whatever) has a limited shelf life and they're all going to collapse at one point or another, the expected life of a Dynamis-only shell is much shorter than one that spreads itself out more. And getting a Knife for such a limited activity (especially considering noone gets to use the knife outside of the 8 hours or so Dynamis lasts) is probably not as effective as going with the TH you have now and paying out to your members. In one sense it seems like investing the current Invictus shell gil total into a Knife is one way to ensure members who joined for profit stick around to get paid. I'm really suprised you and the other shell leaders didn't veto the idea.

Sticking around to get paid a million gil for the 50 of them? Cubs, a million gil is nothing these days. Like I said, I've given almost half that away to someone who took it and bought a speed belt with it.

A thief's knife is nothing to us. Just a couple runs. It's not collateral to keep people in the shell. They choose to be in the shell right now, and by the time they do get a xarca drop and ponder what they're really doing in dynamis, 55 million will not be looking very weighty compared to what we'll have ammassed in coins or whatever.

Good points. I hope the Knife helps you guys.

The shell HAS to decide what it wants to do with the profits. I'm not holding them for ransom. You think I can pull the wool over that many people's eyes? I'm stalling because they haven't reached a decision and probably aren't ready to make such a decision yet. We are in the BUILDING phase still. It would be foolish to decide now how things will always be, when they will be dramatically different not a month from now.

Invicus has its knife now, so the fuss is over. People can go back to betting how long we'll last and trying to give me R1's as I pop out of the zone from a suicide pull.

The auction house board isn't as defunct as I thought it was though. That was relatively impressive. And this thread itself...has a little unexpected quality to it.

With what happened with someone (can't remember the name) secretly taking over 900 million worth of a JP HNM shell's LS bank and goods and stealth migrating to Remora last year, I think anyone's capable of fooling anyone in this game. Whether you're intending to or not isn't really my concern, since I have nothing to gain or lose either way. It's always within the realm of possibility, especially in this game. Something as simple as Zylia or another THF taking off with the Knife takes your shell's assets down to 0 and all it takes for THAT is someone refusing to hit the Trade button.

It probably won't happen. But it CAN happen and HAS happened in the past and you'd be a fool not to approach things in-game without at least some caution.

Yeah I suppose daveman could be laughing his ass off right now, since he has posession of it. But if he did, damn. I would pay 55 million to see someone like dave pull that off. It's all part of the 12.95 in the end.

What about the people that want/need to quit your shell? Do they get the Share of money that they earned while they were helping you?

I'd never do something like that...

In a completely unrelated note, anyone want to buy a genie weskit? I'll trade you a thf knife for it!
