Teaser site live June 6th, 2009

After clicking the NA site and watching/skipping the trailer, background thing pops up, looks like there will be Mithras, Tarutaru's and Galkas, just in a different land than Vana'diel, also a hume (or 2) in what appears to be whm af?
 
In regards to FFXIV, so I guess they're doing that JP headstart thing again like they did with FFXI huh, oh and on the info page they do confirm that this MMORPG will be on Windows as well.

really? fawk that :( unless they actually have servers that can be separate (i.e. JP only, NA only, and then have cross server crap I guess). The whole JP/NA hate crap was a bitch in FFXI >.>
 
You probably dealt with the wrong people, Ele. In as long as I've played, I've only met two JPs who feel they're superior than anyone else. Hell, even the japanese don't think too highly of them.
 
Yeah I haven't had that many bad experiences with JP's either.

Now to debate whether to get FFVII on PSN when it updates (like 6 PST << ) to be able to play it on my PSP on the go, or just play it on PS1 whenever I am able to.

Oh and Xali, about how long is the initial FFIV The After Years chapter(s) plus Rydia's extra chapter? Thinking of waiting til it's all released in September to buy them then I won't have to wait a month inbetween parts.
 
I'm only about three hours in the first story. I haven't gotten to Rydia's yet, and right now I'm at the Mist Cave. I heard someone say that the first story took them five hours, so I'm probably near the end.
 
Well, poo I'll just fork over $37 after the last chapter releases in September then, got enough things to play in the meantime anyways lol.

I played from the VERY start of the game in NA to about 2006 or so, and I tell you now, most of them felt superior and "stupid american engrish players" and stuff for a very long time :\ but this was back in the beginning, it got better over time but still some that were stupid.. and I foresee a new MMO being the same way for awhile.

That's just speculation on my part Ele. I'm assuming that since it's a JP developed game, they'd naturally release it first in local markets so they have time for the whole western localization process on top of all the bug/patch fixes they encounter. I would be hella surprised/astounded if they do a worldwide same date release.

I agree here. If we dont have NA servers i will not touch this game. The divide between NA and JP was rediculous for the first few years of FFXI.

I'm with you guys here. SE should take into account that other territories, namely North America, contributed to the success of FFXI and to shaft us again with a JP first release would just be slap in the face. I remember a crap load of drama between JP/NA back in '03-'05 so let's hope that was something they chalked up on the "lessons learned" column.
 
anyone else laughed at the Japanese voice saying "Praystation" at the end of the FFXIV trailer?
 
Square-Enix shows us how to make a recycled and uninspired MMO. Thanks guys! Taking a page right out of SOE huh?
