An eye for an eye makes everyone blind? Give me a fucking break

I say again, bring back firing squads.

Let the military do it. Sharpshooter training or some shit so prisons don't have to worry about it. They use bullets for target practice anyway and will eventually kill someone if they get deployed.

Fuck, make special units in the military for inmates and send them out to war or something after intense training, they can kill our enemy instead of our citizens.

Again though, for firing squads only send the ones that have been proven 100% innocent and you lower the chance of executing an innocent person.

Or make prison's in Alaska in the mountains or something lame, make the prisoners build worthless stuff then take it down all day. Sleep, eat, re/build, eat, sleep, repeat.

Prison should be a punishment, not a home away from home.

Busta had it right a few pages back: Capital punishment has no deterrent effect on crime rates. Here's another interesting one: Neither does prison sentences.

The only thing that has an effect on crime rates is arrest rates. The likelyhood of you getting caught affects your decision. Are you more likely to get in a fight with your friend if you're alone, or in front of the principal at school.

Also, I'll support Capital punnishment when someone can come up with a better justice system. Once race, money, and influence are completely removed from the system, it'll be viable.

In other words never.

Thats true though what you say about arrests. But also another next to immpossible.

Your not factoring in reality into your equation.

Actualy, i'm useing a creative way to show that I dont support it and WHY.

And the arrest rates thing isn't an unrealistic thing, its true. Arrest rates go up, violent crime goes down. And more tools and funding to police, along with proper training in those tools, results in higher arrest rates.

But in order to do that, we need competent and non corrupt law officers. It's a big mess all around that can't be fixed because humans are too far from being perfect.

I disagree with torture for the same reason I disagree with the death penalty - someone hasto be the inflicter, and for them to be allowed to get away with it just because the inflicted was guilty of some horrible crime is an enormous load of crap.

Regarding the "humane" part of lethal injection...it's not uncommon that many aren't given enough Sodium Thiopenthal, which is the part that puts the person into a sleep. When they don't get enough, they may wake up after the Pancuronium bromide is injected, leaving them fully aware of their going-ons but entirely unable to move. When the Potassium chloride is injected afterwards, they get the joy of feeling their body shut down on themselves, and they'll feel every slow, horrible moment of it and not be able to do a thing about it.

So...humane? Can be, but when it isn't, it's one of the most slow, horrible deaths out there.

Bingo!!!!!!

considering we're becoming a more computerized world, we could have computers/machines be the inflicter :P the computers/machines being the punishers (But then that goes into a whole other issue of stuff XD)

I duno, achieving a more effective police force is much, much easier than attempting to overhaul the entire legal system. Its aided by the fact that the majority of police officers genuinely do want to do their jobs to the best they can.
