bushido cape

Overall damage in an exp party setting is pointless to even achieve. You have to think in terms of mobs, not hours. The damage provided by 1 Zanshin is going to out damage the total of the amenet on a single mob. Just because you do a few extra damage to this mob doesn't mean that it effects the next one. How hard is that to understand? Bushido Cape will help you get 100 TP faster than Amenet and I don't care what anyone says, that is where the damage and hate control of SAM/THF comes from. Now how about instead of all you people assuming that it sucks without tring it, use it then answer the OP.
I'll grant it's "better" for building TP, since it provides an increase to your chance to zanshin; but stop acting like it makes zanshin a 100% proc and gives 100% accuracy(it's just another swing, you can still miss). It's "better" in that it's a negligable boost to your TP gain rate, but that's also why it's not worth bothering with, the effect just isn't big enough to bother with. It's better, but the difference between your TP gain and a sam without it would be so small that it's not worth bothering; but the damage difference between you and the other sam would be more noticable.

People want to kill the monsters faster, so hitting harder on every hit will have a much greater effect on that than getting an extra attack in every 10-15 monsters. If you're getting more zanshins, that means that you're either very lucky with proc's and therefore the gear doesn't matter or your accuracy sucks so you have more opportunity for zanshin to proc, which means you suck. With the damage bonus from Amemet, you might kill the mob in 1 less hit.

This is where you fail.
The more dmg everyone do on every hit the faster the mob dies.
Not by hitting weaker and occationally get another chance to hit a missed attack.

Even my 3 year old brother is lauging for pete's sake. (Not really, but my god!)

Alernatives like the sipahi jawshan over a hauby? A cape that gives an incredibly minor acc and TP boost vs. a mantle with a major increase in attack?

You don't seem to understand what stats are important for a melee. So how can you claim to be as well or better equiped than most WARs your level?
did i ever said i used them? dont think so. Ask simple questions that I was hoping be anwnser by people who actually tryed the equipment not the robots are use club. Of course adamemt better for ws. I wanted to know the zanshin % because I was "considering" using when aggressor/berserk was not up. Which is the time for biggest % chance of missing. That in no way says what my gear look like. As for sipahi wanted to know what crit hit rate was, but since got crit hit merit 3-4, I been crit hitting so much I pull hate at times.

10% is an estimate based on other job traits, but even if it was a 50% proc rate, the bushido cape wouldn't provide a big enough boost to your zanshin rate to make it worth while. You'd still only get one at the most extra hit from the cape, which would produce much less overall damage than an amemet mantle.
I know the Sam Demon NM in dynamis xarc has a lot higher proc rate than 10% (hitting an utsu shadow equates to a miss) I would say it's closer to 25% on him.

Speaking of Soboro, I'm sure that kills the effect of Bushido cape even further. Since I'm sure Zanshin, like Double Attack, cannot kick in when the weapon multihits on its own.
I disagree double atk can kick in with multi hit weapons.

Didn't think it would be that high, but then it might just be stronger for monsters than it is for players. Even if it's 25% for both, bushido cape still isn't a big boost, it's still just 1 more proc at most every 1-200 swings.

No, it can't. I used a soboro from 50-75 sam and I never saw a 4 or 6-hit attack round. Double attack can only process on the single hit rounds where the weapon's multi-hit effect does not process; so zanshin would not activate unless you do a single attack and miss. The chances of that are even rarer than a normal zanshin effect, so it's even more useless than with a non-soboro weapon.

It can, but only if it performs a single attack. You disagree to nothing because you don't know what you're talking about.

If Soboro attacks Twice, you cannot attack three times with a Double Attack.

Shaunessy's thought fails, because if you're missing so horribly that Zanshin becomes useful, your Zanshin swings are going to miss as well. It's not like Zanshin is an automatic hit.

You're lying. Thieves would be scoring NINE HITS with a Ridill in the sub slot. 10 paired with a Mercurial Kris in main.

It's never happened, because it never will.

I have seen hellstorm hit 5 times in a row before using joy+justice combo with brutal earring.

What you probably saw was a Multihit/Single-hit, then the next attack round doing singles.

Wait, I was wrong. 11 hits paired with Mercurial/Ridill. 2+3, 3+3.

er wait, 9.. god I'm retarded today, 2+2, 3+2. :(

if that was case that would be total of 6 hit it was only 5. Maybe it something do with justice sword but I have done it.

How the holy hell does 2+1+1+1 = 6?

joy would hit twice and justice almost always hit twice, the delay is to much in other to run into the next attack. (Considering I don't have hardly any haste gear) Only way it possibly could is if it was 2+2+1+1 which would be 6.

This is why no one likes Melee Red Mages. They don't know what the hell they're talking about.

Ask the ninja that tanks the Sam for your dynamis shell, I assume you kill the rng first in that bunch. He's much worse than the thf, triple attack rapes, but he only gets 2-5 of them off in the time we kill the other two NM's that pop with him. Zanshin is just constantly taking an extra shadow.
