One is vs a morlbol, I think I could solo it as blm/rdm with meds, that drops the Morlbolger vine. One is vs a cockatrice, it drops the cockatrice skin, the other is vs a tiger, it drops the tiger thing. Nue Fang and Dodo Skin are by no means hard to get, or hugely contested, anyone that BC's for them is just flat out dumb. Morlbolger Vine is a 21-24 hour HNM, which is often camped.dbuman said:

Yes, I'm gimp even though I'm only missing 4 items to be finished with monk gear, the 4 most difficult items to get. I'm obviously not saving up my Kindred Seals to do the KS99's to finish my black belt, since I'm not in an linkshell that camps the kings to get them that way; oh wait, that's exactly what I'm doing. There's a vast difference between someone not having an easily obtainable item and one of the rarest items in the game.Shaunessy said:

Dynamis is 65 just to get in(SE's requirement), but you'll be next to worthless until 70. It's also not a very effective way to make money, I've been doing dynamis for almost 2 years and never won a 100 coin; and the money items aren't worth a great deal anymore. The relic is good to supplement your current gear though.
I don't think it's hard to get KSs. I have 99 and I don't even try to get them. Hell half the time I can't even get them because my invo is full when I'm out in a party. 99 isn't really that hard to get, and at higher levels EP drop them. Normally, if I try I can farm about 10 beastmen seals in an hour in the promies, and 5 Kindred/hour fighting EP solo as a 66 SAM. It's not hard, just too hard for you to be bothered with it. So next time you see a MNK without a brown belt, don't say shit until you have a black belt.

Welcome to the game of luck, I've gotten 7 KS in an hour and 0 in an hour before while soloing. In a party, it's even more random, since you're now "competing" with 5 other people for the KS. That's like insulting someone because they've killed an NM 10 times without a drop while you lucked out and got it on your first. Getting KS takes time, and then you need to get enough people to win the KSNM, along with other people bringing their orbs so that it's not just a huge waste of time. That means that you'll have to wait even longer, so you're looking at several months at least just to get all 3 items from the KS99, and that's assuming that you're doing the fights regularly.Shaunessy said:

You've been a 75 MNK for how long? Just stop, you lose. It's not rare, you just don't want to take the time and farm it. That's all it is.

It is rare. Its ra/ex on top of that. So you can't FARM it like baj mentioned for the brown belt. Black belt is the best of the best piece of equipment, and any other melee would give their left arm to have the chance at a Brown Belt, let alone a Black Belt. But every Monk wants them, and, as Baj also mentioned, you have competing LS's fighting for 3 kings.Shaunessy said:

Brown Belt you're lazy if you don't have it. Trust me, 75 MNKs would give their left nut for a Black Belt. Its just not feasible for them all to have one.

As for people without brownbelt being gimp, It more like brown make you above avarage intstead of mediocore. While A mnk should strive to get one. No, they just don't want it. It's not hard to farm 99 KS. Very boring, not hard though. Then all you need to do is find people to do a run with. Oh wait, yeah people don't do that do they.jamal said:
Cancelled my IDs, they don't run out until the 31st of this month. I know more than you think, and watch endgame all the time. Not much different than any other game when you are high level and there really isn't much hard to do at end game in FFXI. Personally though I like GA weilding WARs better than axe/sword wannabes that dominate the game. Mainly it comes from Steel Cyclone being the baddest WS in the game. Would love to see a DRK/THF do one of those with SATA and Absorb-STR Absorb-DEX and Last Resort up. That would just be devestation.
