There are many questionable things in this world... Monsters, aliens, ghosts, anything paranormal... Because, normally, we would all deny their existance, easily. If it cannot be proven scientifically, it must be false, right? Right... (I dont really believe that)

There are occurences where strange things do happen, according to some people, and they cannot be explained. I will list some of these things below.

#1 Religion (Im a firm believer, however)

#2 Monsters
- Mothman
- The Jersey Devil

#3 Aliens
- Crop Circles
- Green Children
- Flatwoods Monster

#4 Strange Phenomenon
- Giant things disappearing without a trace
- Things being moved without anyone to move them (not seen being moved)
- Time lapse
- etc.
- 2.5 ton steel wrecking ball disappears
- Mutilated Animals with Organs Missing

#5 Fictional Items
- Kryptonite!
(this one is what made me think of this topic, lol, but seems totally probable, but still strange and very coincidental)

In reality, many of these things just dont seem to be possible, so... If enough people believe in something long enough, and have enough faith in it... Does it become reality? This doesnt only apply to the weird things listed above, but just think of the many feats that humans have come to develop

Lol, it is real! XD

But, not they way you think! Its an element. :3

Its on the periodic table, I totally flipped out when I saw it, I was like "WTF, mate?!"
loler.

Anyways, yes. I do belive things can exist as long as one belives in them. Take a look at the greek gods, they died as soon as people stopped beliving in them ;D

That is krypton lol.

And kryptonite isn't really kryptonite as it doesn't contain fluorine.

lo, yeah. IT's not a stone as far as I'm, aware... maybe a liquid? o.o Gas? o.o

hahah

Bold, this is one of the things with Religion. In the bible youll read about 'the end of the world' which could quite possible literally mean, the end of christianity.. There are fewer people each year that will believe in God, so it just kind of dies down... So, do the Christians still go to heaven, because in their minds they believe it exists? Science will never prove that about the mind, because its simply impossible.

There have been people that have 'skirted death.' They said they saw "white light" blah blah, you know the deal... Is this because, deep down, they did believe in God, and because of this 'skirting' they turned to religion?

So basically, with this theory, if you believe youll end up in candy land (I mean, literally believe) is this where you will end up after you die?

It's quite possible.
The mind is a wonderous thing, it seems that it has very few limits.

The only thing it cant seem to do is make people fly...

Anything can be possible. As long as you believe. Im really strong on these topics about believin and such. My life has been just a belief ever snice I was 14 years old.

They see a white light and interpret it as supernatural because of beliefs they already had.

I remember reading a Piers Anthony novels years and years back called On a Pale Horse, where the main character is tapped to become the Grim Reaper. At one point he's in a hospital ward to take an atheist's soul, and unlike the other souls it ends up crumbling to nothingness in his hand because there was no belief in eternity there. I thought that was nifty.

As for Mothman... I live in West Virginia and give that one a hearty LOL for idiocy. There's no Mothman.

It almost sounds like someone has read American Gods.

not sayin there is or isnt... But people saw somethin, apparently, according to 'police records' lol

But the mothman and jersey devil are just examples of a bunch of 'monsters.' I remember reading about this similar 'alien' in West Virginia. The Flatwoods Monster. Googles search should bring it up.

Gonna add a couple more links to the OP

.... There's a monster in my closet.

.... oh god!

Im kind of an expert on this kind of stuff. Bwahaha. I read a lot of books in my spare time.

I knew facts about every single topic you posted. Maybe I have too much free time.

Most of them came from a really old Readers Digest book "Mysteries of the Unexplained." Lots more in it (not the kryptonite part though, lol)

Well now i don't feel so bad.

I knew facts about every single topic you posted. Maybe I have too much free time.

There's a show on either TLC or discovery or something called 'Wierd US' or 'Weird America' or something that i've seen take on alot of those topics listed.

Well let me start off by saying that I believe that our thoughts do have an effect upon us and the world around us. Real simple example, people who think positive usually have more luck where-as people who tend to think negatively have more bad experiences and more health issues. I could delve in the meta-physics of it if anyone is interested.

Regarding the paranormal? I believe because I've seen and heard about some weird shit. When I was young, I saw what I believe to be an alien. Years later, other people in my neighborhood saw the same thing. A few years after that, a UFO sighted five blocks from me (that was published in a local paper).

Then there was this time I was driving along the back roads in S.C. and my friend and I saw this thing that looked like a small dog. The thing was intelligent and it didnt look at the truck - it looked us in the eye. It was like nothing I've experienced before. There was a story I read about something similar in Australia but I dont have the link handy.

And for thse interested:

PS: American Gods - Awesome fucking book!

I can vouch for this. I go through this every day. Not quite in the way of luck, but in the gym. When you're trying to do a set of lets just say bench press. Generally you start out strong but the latic acid in you---, you get tired and need a spot. A nifty thing I do with my buddy is when he needs the spot I just put my hands under the bar, and apply enough pressure to merely feel the steel. Even though I am adding maybe 10grams of lift, he can manage to do 2-3 more reps before I actually need to help him...

In short: a) He thinks it's lighter so to his muscles, it is.
b) Mind over Matter > you.

b) Mind over Matter > you.

Mind over matter is fact, definitely. I believe in this myself, and Im sure a lot of people do as well. There are a few things, though... Either youre in fact stronger than you believe yourself to be (you dont think you can lift something, but end up being able to) or it actually IS too heavy for you to lift, but somehow manage to do it anyway. Heard a story about a woman lifting a car because her kid was trapped under it. (not the entire thing, lol) It was an average housewife, so I wouldnt expect her ot normally be able to.

Theres also this 'trick' you can do to make yourself 'heavier.' I really dont know how it works, but Ive done it a few times. Just relax and as a friend to try and lift you. After he/she does successfuly, just tense up your muscles, plant your feet flat on the ground, and ask them again. Theyll tell you that youre somehow harder to pick up.

Yea thats my favorite book in the world lol. I've owned three copies. I gave one of them to Zephayra.
