DS Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies ~ NA Summer 2010

VII maybe with the next cycle of hand-helds, that game is fucking huge.
I-III they'll just do on cell phones like they keep doing that we won't get :(

Or perhaps re-release the old 8-bit versions on the Virtual Console. I know for a fact that they can put NTSC Games on the EU Wii Shop Channel like they did with Ninja Gaiden and Sin and Punishment.
 
Yeah, but I'm not sure we'll see them.
Maybe Nintendo/SE will release DWI at least, I'm hoping for the Roto trilogy (I-III) on VC leading up to DQIX releasing in July.

Same, finding these games in good condition boxed from the NES/Famicom is extremely hard, though I was extremely lucky in getting DQ I-V in a really good (Practically Like New) condition from Japan.
 
I just hope with Nintendo handling publishing and marketing, and DQIX being less than 2 months from release in NA, that SE shows something on DQVI at E3 next month.
This game is likely nearing final touches regarding localization and testing, and SE won't be focusing on publishing or localizing it, so I hope they show us some DQVI, as well as FF Gaiden.

Nintendo did say they were all for publishing in America and Europe. Out of Curiosity, any further news on VI?
 
Nothing yet, just hoping we get some info on it at E3.
 
I still have to beat DQVII. I have 100 hours into that game but I've forgotten everything so Im gonna have to restart it :(

Both great games, as well as DQIV and DQV on the DS.

VII is definitely one of my favorites (along with V and VI, c'mon VI DS!)
Fucking huge game, and a lot of shit to do, love the job system.

Getting monster heart drops sucks though, fucking Dumbira heart.
 
From what I remember half of my 100 hrs were spent grinding for the job levels lol. Fun times. I think I'm gonna start 7 up again once finish Arc the Lad twilight of the spirits.

Love games with fun skill systems. Too bad it takes so long to get jobs in 7.
 
Yeah, it takes a little bit to get to Dharma Shrine in VI and IX too, not sure if it's as long as VII, but probably not.
I love job systems as well, and DQIX combines the job system with the skill system from VIII (each job has skills you put points into to master) and it also has the alchemy pot, which is instantaneous this time around, without needing to unlock that ability.

Not to mention no random encounters, except while on the ship.
It uses a system similar to Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker, run into enemies to fight them.

Just know your team is all generics, you create them (like DQIII), they sure aren't no Yangus or Jessica.
And treasure map hunting can and will suck, especially with the lack of local wireless players in NA to be able to unlock them as well as cameo characters/bosses/items.

July 11th, first stop on the DS RPG train with Dragon Quest IX, then sometime during the fall we have Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals, and October 5th we have Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light.
Holy fuck, mind blown, a little over a week ago we weren't expecting any of those titles, and now we're getting 3.
And it's not even E3 yet :D

Now if only we get DQVI DS by Christmas, then I'll be even happier.

Well, I kind of hope SE announces SaGa 2 remake for NA, but they likely won't.
