Dragonball Z (Not a joke)

Yeah Steel was really bad, but with Shaq, c'mon... that should've been expected. Super Mario Bros. actually had a really great cast (Bob Hoskins, Dennis Hopper, John Leguizamo), and still went straight down the tubes (pun intended).

Back on topic, after some thought I'm truly conflicted. I don't want to financially support the travesty this appears to be, but I almost feel like I have to go see it just to see how bad it truly turns out to be. I feel like I'd be missing out on an important moment in pop culture history if I never saw the absolute worst movie of all time.

Don't lie; every last one of you wants to just go see another movie where Emmy Rossum has a surprised look on her face through 65% of the flick.

Yeah, that was pretty bad. Still going to go see it, but I have lost all of my hope for the movie to be close to the series now.

Then why are you going to see it? You'll only be disappointed further, and hey, if the movie flops (and by god I hope it does) then this shit will hopefully never see the light of day on DVD.... I hope.

Because I wasn't stupid enough to think that it'd be close to the source material. That's why I'm not whining about my childhood being raped or some other idiocy. The Wooden acting I can live with(acting sucked in the series too, which no one ever seems to remember), making Piccolo a demon that's coming to destroy the world, I can live with since they don't have time for the full backstory; him knowing more than 2 martial arts moves I'm ecstatic about, that's probably the only time it shows up but at least it wasn't his billionth kamehameha. My biggest problem is when he touched the dragonballs he say a "prophecy," and the poem about them is just stupid. I understand why they did it(dumb it down for the average movie goer), but I still don't care for it.

I'm still curious to see how it'll turn out, it could just be that one scene; but I'm no longer hopeful that it'll be exactly like the comics.

It'll be on DVD. Shitty movies make it to DVD all the time, beveryly hill chihuahua just came out on blu-ray and that's a 100x worse idea for a movie than any dragonball could ever be.

And chances are, this will become one of those "cult hits" on DVD, like "The Shadow" or "The Phantom". Years go by after it bombs in general release, and it sells fairly well on DVD and even develops a pretty large fanbase.

Fox wants to make 2 more of these apparently. The actress who plays Chichi is already signed on for 2 more dragonball movies.

They (Hollywood/production co.'s) usually earmark sequels before release of an undertaking, especially when it's an adaptation of a series of some sort.

Numerous, numerous sequels get unmade because the original film doesn't do well at all at the box office.

Even though that trailer was utter horrible...

I'm still gonna watch this.
Even if I have to be the only human being in the entire cinema laughing myself to death.

So I saw a commercial for this movie on tv for the first time this weekend.

If it weren't for the big "Dragonball Evolution" at the end of it, I wouldn't have known what it was. It looks so bad, that I don't think I can justify seeing it "just to see how bad it is." It is actually past "terrible" and onto the much worse "prostate exam performed by the Incredible Hulk".

Watched the cam version of it.

Really not much else to say other then ... failed more then i thought it would, apparently Goku doesn't even know the kamehameha untill he's 18 ... right.

I'm not even gonna watch this film, not even pirated. It's not worth it. This movie needs to be destroyed!!!

I disagree, this movie is gonna be watched by me in the cinema.
As much as I laughed at the little youtube scenes I want to base my opinion upon having seen the entire feature.

Aside from that, this will most likely be another movie which will be a prime example on how not to make a hollywood feature out of popular anime and games.
It will get an honorable mention besides:

The Guyver (Bionoids)
Street Fighter
Crying Freeman
Wicked City
Tomb Raider
Double Dragon

There are bound to be a few titles I am forgetting.

Tomb Raider was okay. I didn't enjoy it, but there wasn't anything particularly bad about it. Mario Bros. was an abortion.

I didn't care for either Tomb Raider, but I was never big on the games, so I don't know how accurate/whatever they were. The second movie was abysmal.

I wish they could just take the cast for Mario Bros and try again. I thought Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, and Dennis Hopper were awesome choices.

Mario Bro's was a bad Mario movie...but I liked it as a normal movie lol.

Now Street Fighter and Double Dragon were abominations.

I agree. Dennis Hopper wouldn't be that great a choice now, but back then he could have been a great Koopa :|

Leguizamo better sport the 'stache this time. No more half-assing it. And Dennis Hopper should be replaced by CGI Godzilla, so long as Matthew Broderick doesn't mind.
