Early Level Sync Findings

Bumped into a few guys messing with it, i THINK (could be wrong), that the sync feature is mostly meant for maybe 5-10 level gaps, and i wouldnt throw out lvl cap gear just yet.

I was 75 NIN and synced with a 44 group, Byakkos Haidate, Seiryus Kote gave no Bonuses. Hauby gave +1 STR/DEX and +1 Attack. Potent Belt also gave just 1 STR.

Anyone done any other tests of their own?

Osode gives +3 to all stats at 70. Haidate gave +3 DEX too at 70.

the lv sync stats are complete crap. you could be 1 lv under the actual gear lv and still get maybe 10% of the stats you're looking for. Just say no.

Well a friend brought up a valid point earlier, say you have 5 level 75s in a merit pt, and you invite a level 72. You all sync to his level, and instead of meriting on VT colibri, its IT. 72 and 75 isnt that big a diff, if merits are still in affect which im sure they are, then this could be much better.

The point is that whatever in that slot at that level will always be better than the levelled down gear. Anything positive is adjusted. Anything negative stays.

So technically I can use a few Shura pieces at level 10 and have like a max of 50 HP haha...

The whole point is so you can say to your buddy "hey, wanna xp with us?" and they can do so without having to buy an entire new set of gear for it. It's not to become overpowered at a lower level, it's a convenience and literally nothing else.

I think you can find more -HP gear out there, like Electrum Rings. You'd have bare minimum 1HP?

that may be true but we expected it to at least be a LITTLE less crappy than it is. If you're 1 lv under the lv requirement for a piece of gear in a lv synch you shouldn't get +2 atk from a +20 atk piece of gear. I can understand them nerfing it but that was just overkill.

Indeed, but however, you forgot to factor in, since when did the majority of the population take any notice to text?

I remember back near 9/11 there's like a huge mother fucking sign at airports saying "DO NOT BRING ANYTHING [that can be considered a weapon] OR IT WILL BE CONFISCATED!". This "news" hit the papers a lot when it said in its articles "why are people surprised that their [potential weapons] are being taken away?". Lots of passengers complained about how their property was being taken away.

The notifications did state that the gear 'at that level' (The downgraded level) would still be the best gear around. I had assumed the nerf would be pretty severe.

Oh, and it may seem obvious, but syncing dismisses pets. Puppets for instance, even at full HP, will be dismissed and the timer will still be at whatever it was.
Tried duoing with another PUP (Me, 46, him, 62), we had level synced twice (Once to test it, I lost my puppet, and once so he could Spectral Jig, and he lost his then. xD).
So just a heads up to pet owners, dismiss them first!

I was just stating the findings i had, i wasnt really complaining about it, its still better than nothing. I just wanted to point out some people might not want to get rid of their level cap stuff, just saying

They MAY adjust it, but it did say that the gear at that level will always beat out the level synced gear. Why would they make it over powered? Like Rappa said, the point is so you don't have to go and spend gil on gear when you wanna help a friend out or something. I thought we all knew this by now? The gear is pretty much gonna suck, at least for now, they may upgrade it a bit in the future.

You're better of with gear at that Synch Lvl. Also, equip appropriate gear as you would in a regular party as your synch leader lvls up.

I hope people dont complain when someone syncs down to their level in an exp party. Id hate to hear "Oh your cheap, your gimp buy the cap gear!"

Edit: Another note, if sync leader dies, pt gets no exp, and syncing wipes TP.
