Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread (the 2nd)

Funny, they sound better than the UC reactor if you look at the ratios. I haven't had much of a chance to play lately .. I tried the rakvija titan trial last night. I think with enough phoenix downs I may have been able to win but I didn't have enough ... plus it was long and annoying. On the bright side It's pretty easy to get 150k-200k CP within 30 minutes in titans trials ^^

Oh yeah the Rakvija things are bitches. There's another one with them too. Also, you can't but the cores so the only way you'd get them is by farming. I thought killing turtles and buying reactors was better for me.

Finally 5 starred the last of the Titan Missions, Attacus was the last, and was a hard one. Never did stagger him once in all my tries, but I finally found a way to maximize attack, and not have to worry about playing defense. Didn't use a paradigm with a medic one time.

Only have about 8 missions left to do, the ones that are in a ring together.

Taming Pole is Fang's best weapon by far, stagger lock isn't even a noticeable penalty. I went back to the Lionheart for lightning after it proc'd on Neochu lol.

He can't be staggered is why but it's good to keep the Chain Bonus high because he takes more damage the higher it is. And stagger lock (which I thought meant that the Chain % wouldn't go up at all) actually just makes it so the hit that Fang does won't send a enemy into stagger mode. So for example, something is at 449.9%/450.0% and Fang hits it, it won't stagger, but will with someone else.

Yeah I used to think it meant to bar wouldn't move at all. But I tried it out and saw that it just meant she couldn't cause the stagger, I didn't see a downside lol.

And for Attacus Spoilers I Guess

Spoiler:
I just stacked Snow with physical resist gear and set him on Sentinel with his 27K HPs. Then made: With Fang, Snow & Lightning

Sab/Sen/Syn
Syn/Sen/Syn
Com/Sen/Com
Rav/Sen/Rav
Com/Sen/Rav
Med/Sen/Med (Just in case I needed it)

I didn't use all of these, but Snow never really got in danger until the very very end. So I was free to just attack attack attack and keep the bar up.

Indeed, I have Fang's Kain Lance * from the Taming Pole, insane STR/MAG increase, Stagger Lock isn't too bothersome for COM, and even when she's on RAV I usually have others who can push it that .1%.

Anyways, just capped crystarium farming more adamantoise, I have enough traps to do an ultimate weapon for each character, but still farming plat ingots for money.
Plan on doing all 8 of each character's weapons to ultimate weapon level, so I only need 48 traps total, but that can wait.

I did Taming Pole for Fang, and Pleiades Hi-Powers for Sazh to final level (used him for adamantoise for a while so needed the STR).

Plan on doing Axis Blade or Lionheart for Lightning (haven't really decided yet), Belladonna Wand for Vanille, Paladin or Umbra for Snow (if I use him he's usually exclusively SEN anyways), and Vidofnir for Hope.

Haven't touched any missions since I started farming ingots, I still have roughly half to do.

Oh and Aaleel, after those Cie'th stones in a ring on the Steppe, you'll spawn Shaolong and Long Gui's that replace Adamanchelid/Adamantoise on the Steppe.
You'll get a trophy for killing a Long Gui as well, and they have a higher drop rate on traps than Adamantoise, same % on plat ingots though.
Shaolong Gui's drop gold nugget and dark matter.
However they range from 10-16 million HP, and are tougher than their Adaman cousins.
Hurray for Ultima.

WHAT??

I would have done them already if I knew that lol. I need to start using a guide, I've really only looked up stuff for weapons and upgrading/dismantling.

EDIT: Uh maybe not lol. I'm looking at some of these. First one I touched went and found the mark Two Raktavija may be tough, may have to save that one for last, while I think of a strat. I wouldn't have been strong enough for some of these.

I accidentally attacked a Long Gui, that didn't go well lol. I thought it was a Adamantoise ><.

When did zero punctuation stop being funny? I stopped watching when he started bitching about footsteps being too loud.

Also he hated on vanille cuz he felt she was from another planet. Hmm, too bad he only played the first 5 hours.

Yeah because, you know Vanille was soooooo useless. *sarcasm off*

I didn't find like any of that video funny lol. I almost didn't recognize that it was supposed to be humorous.

Well, I'm glad someone post 2 things that weren't funny at all.

People sure have a stick up their ass, he actually makes some valid points here and there (like story/gameplay relating to each other a bit). It's true he's too hard on FFXIII, but don't just get all bitchy cause someone points out flaws in something you like :\ hell I like it and I found some of that amusing. I loved FFX and I laugh hard when I watch Spoony's review of it (well part 1). Though I will give you that Zero Punctuation wasn't nearly as funny as it used to be.

Oh, I've pointed out flaws in FFXIII to people many times and joked around about them. That just really wasn't funny at all.

No we're only bitchy because if you play 5 hours of a 50 hour game, you can't call it a review. Also it wasn't funny. I've seen him rip apart games ive liked in the past and enjoyed it when they were actually funny. This was not.

hell I like it and I found some of that amusing.
Well, since you find it amusing then I guess we're all wrong, fuck personal opinion.

Look, you CAN NOT point out flaws in a game when you barely have a chance to play it. 5 hours into the game? Really? That's like what? The third time you get control of Lightning/Sazh?

Yes, the game has flaws, good christ does it ever. We all know it and atleast some of us have been funny. That review was nothing short of a train wreak. This review wasn't mean, it wasn't funny, it wasn't anything. He just didn't try and it shows.

That mans voice is quite annoying, was hard to watch the whole thing. But yeah, a terrible review, faggots like these need to stick to pokemon, something they can follow and understand.

Hard-on City up in here. You guys are missin' the point, but that's an obvious happening given the nature of this forum. It's his review and if he couldn't stomach more than 5 hours of it, then BAM, it should be done that way and noted as is. There are plenty of other games out there that reach the hour mark FF XIII does and they do so without epic (for long not badass) shit 10 hour "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can," beginnings. Hell, it's not like he even made a single effort to try and hide the fact it was a 5 hour review.

So much insecurity, just enjoy your game and stop worryin' about whether the rest of the world likes it or not.

Finally making some progress developing my characters, I decided to accept one of the missions in the steppe from that circle of stones. When I did, titan kinda ... idk yawned or something and everything went dark. Is that permanent or do I just need to kill the mark?

I dont really get what you are asking but... If you want to cancel a hunt mission you can just click the stone again and the text will provide you the option.
