Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread?

Sazh has the best theme by far

Another raving battle system fan here. I can't get over how fun it is to use in them big boss battles where you fuck up and are like "shit shit heal heal", and that sense of relief you get when you just make it but then realize you got another 70% HP to work at on the boss.

As I thought, I love Hope and he's got a really good storyline at the moment. Haven't played it yet today but talking about it makes me want to.

I haven't seen any moogles yet.

This makes me sad.

It's like FFX, VIII, etc. where Moogles were only a cameo.
In X's case a doll, in VIII's case MiniMog card (and the GF if you had a pocketstation or played the PC version)
In XIII's case there's a shop run by Moogles, with a little moogle illustration like all the shops have.

Anyways, just got to The Gapra Whitewood, there's a spot for early CP gaining with 6 frag leeches, take the elevator up and down in The Research Corridor area.
Just doing that for a few thousand CP (it goes quick), then moving on.

Later in the game, I think Chapter 8 or 9 (this was from my import play), there's a place in Hope's house where these 2 groups of soldiers respawn every time you walk 10 yards away from the other group. You get about 300 CP per group, and they're about a 1-2 hit kill, so you can farm there if need be.

I'll probably do that when I get there, but the part I'm at now I have Hope and Lightning, and these 6 frag leeches die fairly quick, and give 156 CP for the group.
Just stockpile a few thousand CP for those 2 and Vanille, Sazh and Snow will all get the CP as well.
God I wonder how much CP Snow has by now, it's been a while since the Shiva sisters.

Rather enjoying it :P it took awhile for the game to get better though, like 2 hours. What's with Nomura doing that? Having a few hours of "meh" until things really get better :P but ya, once paradigms and crystalium and whatnot opens up it gets better gameplay-wise. Story's not too bad so far. <3 Sazh.

Technicaly Yoshinori Kitase was the producer/director, so it wasn't really up to Nomura how this game was designed, after all, Nomura is also working on FF Versus XIII and the next Kingdom Hearts game pretty much at the same time, as well as character designs to boot. Only so much he can do really.

Agreed. I started thinking I'd play GoW III once I got it and just put this down but now that the battle system and character development are there, I'm not so sure. I kinda wish they gave us crystalarium & paradigms earlier though. Until they did it was just button mash the X button in battle (boring) and me wondering if my characters were going to remain this un-customizable for the whole game.

Kinda wish I had taken advantage of those leeches, but I just got to Hope's hometown so maybe I'll have a chance to exploit those soldiers Koenigstiger mentioned

Also: Cocoon is freakin' huge, I'm interested to see just how big it is when compared to pulse.

Ya true, it just seems that SE's developers these days like to be slow about really making a game fun XD KH2 was like that and FFCC a bit was like that and FFXIII like that. Oh well, still damn fun once crystarium and paradigms open up :3 I do still miss the open world maps and flying but that's been gone for so long I don't see that coming back :(

I wish they would juat give me my 6-7 characters and let me go lol. This constantly splitting up and changing people I don't like.

I'm on a part with Vanille and Sazh now, and this is horrible. I want Lightning or Snow back, so I don't feel like I have two support jobs and nothing else.

I like the battle system, and the game is beautiful, but it's really linear and they're dictating everything down to your party members.

I don't really mind switching it up like that, beause I know if I had my choice I've pick my 3 favs and ignore the rest. At least I like the meat of the story to be like that, towards the end when we're going up against the big baddies I like to have complete control.

I like the POV switching, I'm at The Sunleth Waterscape now past the 4 scalebeasts with Vanille and Sazh, and they don't seem much like "support job" characters.
Sazh as Commando and Vanille as Ravager is quite nice, and can do fine enough damage.

Anyways, it opens up a lot Chapter 11+ when you reach Pulse, and around then you can start choosing which 3 characters you want to use as well as the leader.

He doesn't have Commando for me lol. They both have Ravager, then Vanille has Medic & Sabotuer, and Sazh has Synergist.

But I have Lightning back now lol, just got to the point where I can start upgrading weapons, which I have no clue about lol.

Been without Snow for a while though.

Yeah, Ravager is a fine damage dealer though, but he'll unlock Commando later.
I'm at chapter 6 and no Snow back yet, so he's gone a while.
He'll probably have max CP

I just like hitting stuff lol. Just like in FF XI, Rng, Nin, Sam. Spell casting as the main job has just never been my thing.

Customizing your own Paradigms is just awesome.

Just fought Lightning's Eldiolon. Badass, just badass lol. But he got 5 starred :)

The ranking is based upon how much time spent usually and if you beat the target time.
Each eidolon target time is 30minutes, so only way you aren't gonna get 5 stars for those is if you get a game over lol.

Odin was a fun and difficult battle though, I like how each eidiolon has a different method of defeating.

I'm paused in the middle of a cut scene in chapter six, but it appears we'll be playing him in this chapter, though who with is still unclear ... need to wait until my mom's shows are over - .-

Yeah when you're stuck without commando on Sazh once you switch back to them through the wasteland, fights go very very slow until you stagger the enemies.
