"Friends"

Quote Lavi - By the way, Payge even sent me several tells trying to assure me that Affinity wasn’t going to die. Oh, the irony. The person trying the least to save the shell and the most to destroy it telling me Affinity isn’t going to die. I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time.

That is funny because she gave us that big speech that Atiba was most likely going to break the linkshell. Duff already had a shell we were using for fooling around in Sea so I sent him a /tell that threatening with a shell break is the worst thing that she could do at this point and that I was ready to reform. My only regret is I left half of my friends and especially Orestes and Bt whom I loved killing stuff with. I did send Olsmugla a pm that if they needed me for any CoP missions or anything do not hesitate to ask. When drama hit Affinity I think we were all so shocked because it was so smooth for so long. Affinity is by no means a bad shell and Pauk and Orestes I would follow into battle anytime. I'm sorry your Affinity experience was not as good as mine Lavi, I don't remember you asking me for any help and I believe I said hi to you on many occassions. Anyway, like I said Lavi I hope you feel more comfortable with us now in Seashell.

It's all good Neo. I had a great time killing shit with you, and I respect whatever reasons you had for leaving. People don't always see things the same way. Thats life i suppose.

I'd just like to clarify this is not infighting. I was no longer welcome into two different shells and left. This is just me and my vindictive side having a little fun. I post this also as a warning to potential future Affinity members because they LS was confronted with the problems and instead of fixing them, they chose to kick those who pointed out the problems. So for those that are still with Affinity and those that wish to join Affinity, they will still have to contend with these problems. For those that chose to stay, it is their choice to do so and I really wish some of them had chosen to leave, but I cannot make that choice for them. However, for those planning to join Affinity, they have no idea what awaits them and I am merely trying to show them the true nature of this shell. As for my other "friends", I guess they just don't exist.

dude its not you. its not me. its the fact that rules changed weekly. lies from leaders to members. disrespect from leaders to members.

a shy, nontalkative person, who does not communicate , is not a good leader.

a person who spends half of the time in another social, private shell, is not a good leader.

a person who does not motivate their LS, is not a good leader.

see what im saying yet?

Why though? Why do you consider it rude and why do you consider it important? If something is important, you send a tell or say something of value in ls chat. It is rude to expect ls members to be wal-mart greeters there to sooth your ego and reassure your self-confidence that your meaningless statement (hello in this case) warrents the attention of others. Sure, if you make an important statement such as "How many o-hats are we doing tonight?" and get totally ignored, that is rude. I treat someone saying 'hello' in ls chat the equivalent as saying "I have logged on". I note it, but there is nothing that warrents a response.

You say it is important because they would have had to answer your other questions...why not just ask those in the first place? Its like a stupid mind game. 'If you don't respond to my meaningless statement, then I won't ask a question of value that warrents an actual response.' That is just silly. Ask your question to begin with. If that gets ignored, send tells. If that is still ignored, then get upset. The problem isn't the lack of hellos, but something far more serious in that case.

People are far too sensitive over something so insignifigant (refering to hello).

That hello can be useful, it will let others know when your online & possibly available. Those in the shell may be doing something & think of you & invite you to partake is something they're doing.

It's understandable Lavi. I just want to point out that our new recruits know our situation, and they are aware that things are being done about it with new leadership. There's no reason for me to discuss things like this on a public message board. I'm sure you understand.

my response:

I do not participate in HNM shells.. and do not plan on doing so for a very long time.. 2 reasons.. the associated drama I hear so much about, and the serious strain on game time. I have far too many things I've yet to accomplish to dedicate myself to a select few facets of gameplay.

ok that being said.. I'm a sacholder in my social/event based LS. I do not feel I am a LS "leader" as we have an owner/leader that does a tremendous job keeping things in line when it's necessary. We are pretty self-maintained as we all know each other fairly well.
Whenever I enter in / log in, I always say hello.. it's more to announce that I'm there in the event someone needed me for their plans, or to announce that I'm present for any activities that may be scheduled. If not for any other reason, it's to simply say hello to my friends. That's what an LS is intended to be.. right? a group of friends or team members gathered for a common purpose?

Because my LS is a close-knit friendly atmosphere. When I say hello, my LS friends will respond with a return hello, or sometimes to ask how my day was, or what ingame activies I had planned, or if I am willing to participate in whatever that particular member may be planning or involved with. I assumed this was normal.

A "hello" as you enter the shell IMO is polite, and does warrant return "hello's". I don't feel I am an attention hog, or desiring a spotlight in any way. I feel I am an active part of my LS, and in order to be involved, included, or even to organize an event or ask for help, my introduction is necessary to state that I am logged in and available to participate in events that will further increase the bonds we share and advance us as all as a group. Someone that enters the LS without saying hello to announce themselves leads me to assume that they already have something planned, or is not particularly interested in being social, and/or involved with whatever may be going on. Some are just quiet. Last I checked there is no "Message" that pops saying .. "Suchandsuch" has entered the room, or whatever. Unless I check the LS roster every two minutes, I won't know who's there and who's not. Hello in LS chat is used primarily to be active. and seeing as how OP was not responded to repeatedly leads me to believe they weren't welcome, or that there was no real activity going on.. i.e. people were just going through the motions of logging into the shell because they had to.... where's the close knit relationships in LS chat that are supposed to come from a well oiled team environment?

btw. when I log in to my LS I usually get 4 or 5 hello's in return, and am absorbed into whatever conversation may be already in progress. If I do not get a hello in response, I do not take it personally, many members including myself when in an exp pt or whatever may be tied up, or focused. But if it happens regularly, and especially always. .and there's a LS conversation going.. (meaning people are paying attention to LS chat) after a period of time I might feel unwelcome.

being in a shell that doesn't respond to yours or others entrance repeatedly may be indicative of more serious problem. Either you're not appreciated anymore, or no one is paying attention. Either would lead most people to a prompt search for a new LS.

It also goes with this.. if you're in an LS.. they are your support in this game. They should be your first line of assistance in any of your endeavors to improve yourself. After all, your improvement makes the LS better as a whole.. if you have a person that repeatedly only comes on the shell and doesn't say anything.. and when they do it's "Hey I need _____ anyone willing to help me with that?" After this repeats itself over and over, how long until you realize that's all that person is after.....

for courtesy, and for a better team environment, I would encourage announcing yourself when you enter the shell.. would you walk into a family dinner, or a friend's house without saying hello, as you came in?

If you walked in my house without saying hello.. if I didn't kick your ass out, I'd assume something was wrong...

when we do tele-conferences at work.. everytime someone joins in the call.. guess what they do... they announce themselves.

when I walk into a bar or public place to meet my friends.. do I walk up and sit at the table silently? no.. I greet them all.

When my child goes into her kindergarten class does she silently go and sit at her desk.. I hope not.. I know she doesn't because I walk her in every morning.. and guess what, she may not say hello to the whole group, but she does walk in saying hello directed to the teacher or an individual friend.. guess what?! she announced herself. so does every other 5 to 6 year old kid that walks into that class.

now... how is not saying hello "normal"? It takes .. 2 seconds of your busy inundated game time to respond.. can be shortened to 3 keystrokes. if you have your default chat to /cm linkshell.

Only the 3 of you left!! such Lies Lavi, I was still wanting to go with you till the end! I only joked around with you and some how you took it seriously and iv been trying to make good with you for the past year and 1/2 but you dont even wanna try so maybe you need to think why you lose friends. Maybe the dumb little reasons you find to hold against people? If you were to ask most the people that know me they will either say "hes that asshole that told me my party sucked and warped" or "ya hes a fun guy that likes to joke around alot", just saying Lavi justify why your gonna hate people and maybe you wont hate them so much and maybe you can have more people willing to help you...

So Payge doesn't have a pearlsack anymore? If that's true, it's a huge step in the right direction, if not then the shell didn't learn anything.

Just to clarify things, Payge has kicked several members without reason or cause on many different occasions without reprimand or sanction. She is still considered a leader of the shell in which she takes no active role in leading besides clarifying a LS message or abusing her sackholder privelage to kick someone unjustly.

Who has she ever kicked besides Sumer?

We killed Kirin on our first attempt; we got great drops, Shining Cloth and an Osode. I believe the osode went to Atiba and the cloth, which it had been the rule of the LS to sell, went to Payge. To me, this was a slap in the face. I was flat out told no to receiving a cloth, but when it finally did drop it was given to the LS leader and girlfriend of the LS owner, Atiba.

It was killed 1st try, 1st cloth is givin away to a whm (kinda funny... "1st kill it finally drops"). I wasnt around back then, but every cloth that has droped has been givin away since, so whats the problem?

There was no list of what items we possessed, those that did know would share that information, and when asked what to do, you were ignored. I had asked several times for over the span of a year for this information to be posted
What does it matter? if you go to farm, go farm. Get everything you can. We need drops from all gods, might as well get as many pops as you can.

Pauk and Payge stepped up to a certain extent and started to make the shell active once more. We started farming once again and getting gods done… for about 2 weeks. Then we went back to the old, lets do CoP missions because lots of people need those and it takes no effort by leaders
There was a gods push because people wanted to get back in sky. Then some poeple got sea, and others wanted to do CoP missions. Pauk and Payge just did what the majority of the members wanted. I would say they did a pretty good job considering they were pretty much forced to be the leaders, even though neither of them wanted to lead a end-game ls.

They basically accosted him tells that he didn’t deserve it and I’m sorry, after a year of faithful service, he god damn deserved it.
No one said he didnt deserve it, they just didnt want to see his brand new osode never come out of his mog house.

So, isn’t it natural that people would start to question what was going to happen to the large LS bank that had been accrued?
This is the one this that made me laugh the whole time. Anyone in the ls knew who was goin to ditch because they were the ones who were worried about the ls bank. NO ONE who stayed even mentioned it, but 99% of the member who ditched out asked about it twice a day. I thought this was a need before greed ls? yet all you are worried about your precious gil. When people left, they were offered their share, i hope you enjoyed it.

btw, i rarely say hi because when im xp'ing, farming, camping, doing whatever... im laying down on my couch. I sit up to type, but id much rather just lay down. sitting up to type "/l hi"... not worth the effort sorry.

Ahhh, Cute! The Ass kisser came to play games too. I'm surprised you were able to get your head pulled out of Payge's asses long enough to actually post here. The problem with the first drop since the whole point passed you by was the rule was stated clearly that it was to be sold and split among members attending the run. Instead, the rules were changed to benefit a single member and yet the only reason it was changed wasn't because people had asked for it to be changed (they had but were refused), but because Payge wanted a Noble's and this change gave her that opportunity. So it's ok to change it for Payge because she was one of the LS leaders or more importantly Atiba's girlfriend, but not when other WHMs ask? Quality LS. Great leaders.

We were never allowed to farm. I could shout to my hearts content in that shell to get shit done, but two things always happened. I was told to just wait and I was told farm specific items rather than get as many as physically possible. If any leader wasn't present, things didn't get done and they basically weren't allowed to be done. I've been to a lot of farming sessions with the shell and they always ended the same. I stand in the entrance asking to do something and I get the response to wait. I interject we are wasting our time just do nothing when we could be popping Despot or getting a water, I still get told to wait. It would literally take Atiba or any other leader 30 mins or more to process a simple thought like we have 2 Gems of the North and only 1 water, so we need one more water to get 2 Genbu pops. This isn't sarcasm. This isn't an exaggeration. They were literally that slow. If I had the proper knowledge of what items we had in possession, I could have given you the solution faster than you can say "Affinity sucks".

No, the majority of people wanted everything. I want to go to sea and sky so that I can get the best of everything. The simple solution to this would be to set times for both and not just one or the other which they constantly did. When it came to sea and that LS nothing ever got done besides Limbus. Nice of you to speak about need before greed... So how's Limbus? Haven't seen you since you got your 75 coin item... And the reason we asked about the gil we earned is because we EARNED it and it was never being used. How could we? We never did gods and you can't get gil to buy cursed gear if you don't have an abjuration. I find it highly suspect that someone asks about the LS bank and then gets kicked. I find it even funnier that the LS bank records were rarely ever kept up to date. It took months to see a V.Claw drop finally get listed and that's if it ever did get listed. Look at the Bank and figure out the time gaps. Notice anything odd? 6 months without even a single update.

Jedimind, I left and I could give 2 shits about the ls bank. Am I the 1%?

No. You, Myi, and Lucy all disappeared at the exact same time. I waited and waited and waited and no one besides Tom and Al showed up ever again. Very coincidental you all had 75 before disappearing.
