Well my entire thread was actually dedicated to two groups of people, the first being Affinity and the other being another shell I belonged to. Since the latter neglected to even respond, I am only left with the understanding and confirmation I was right. I had expected some sort of reply, most likely I would ignore it, but nonetheless a reply. I guess I was correct though; I really wasn’t your friend, was I? I mean, you ignore me now, just like you have ignored me and forgotten me every day for the past year.
Affinity, where do I start? I guess I can start from the beginning, but I will try to make it quick for those of us with short attention spans. Back in the day, there used to be a LS called ThousandSwords which was a spin off from NH or so I am told, I was never really privy to that information and those that are never really talked about it. Well about a year ago, maybe slightly more, the leader of the TS was having some real life issues and the LS was lacking leadership as well as a direction. At the time, the first people to step up to the job were Olsmugla, Atiba and a few of the older TS members. Well my memory isn’t so great but needless to say, those people started what is now Affinity today. There have been several instances where I have wished to leave the LS because of problems that were never resolved, but I was hesitant to do so for personal reasons. One of the first things that stick out in my mind as a severe mistake was the first Kirin. We killed Kirin on our first attempt; we got great drops, Shining Cloth and an Osode. I believe the osode went to Atiba and the cloth, which it had been the rule of the LS to sell, went to Payge. To me, this was a slap in the face. I was flat out told no to receiving a cloth, but when it finally did drop it was given to the LS leader and girlfriend of the LS owner, Atiba. This was one of many instances where the LS leaders would do certain things solely to benefit certain members, but neglect others. Mind you this is just one event, but it always seemed the rules were being changed to benefit one person more than just the shell as a whole. Granted, I was happy they changed the rules so that WHMs would be able to get a Noble’s and this is how I was finally able to get mine; however, the reasoning behind it was what really annoyed me and quite a few others.
Well Affinity today hasn’t changed a whole lot; many of the members from over a year ago are still with the shell or at least were last week. From the very first day, leadership or the lack of thereof was always a huge issue with Affinity. Whenever we did sky farming, there were always vast amounts of wasted time where nothing could be done for one reason or another. This time could have been better spent farming or killing gods, but the shell was so lacking in organization that no one save a few LS leaders knew what needed to be done. There was no list of what items we possessed, those that did know would share that information, and when asked what to do, you were ignored. I had asked several times for over the span of a year for this information to be posted so anyone could lead sky farming without a leader being present, but was always ignored and finally when the information was posted, it was never updated again. Although to my surprise even with this problem, killing gods was never an issue, but I mainly contribute that to our good members. Most of our members are 75 in at least 1 job, many with multiple 75 jobs and I consider most of them very good at their jobs if not some of the best I have played with.
Now with recent events, Atiba has decided to take a leave of absence for personal reasons. He left the LS basically in charge of the leaders who had been with the shell since ThousandSwords and this was never told to any of the LS members until people started to really question his lack of presence (he left himself afk all the time so people always assumed he was around) and the lack of any LS events. Finally people began to question the lack of anything being done in the LS and this is when the real problems began or the main problem that split the LS. Payge had been very quiet and she always had been, but everyone knew her and Atiba had been very close. She had finally blurted out the reason Atiba had been gone so long and kicked a member of the shell who had been asking all the questions. She kicked her knowing full well she had no right or any reason to do so. She did it because she was angry and emotional. Finally after things settled down again, Pauk and Payge stepped up to a certain extent and started to make the shell active once more. We started farming once again and getting gods done… for about 2 weeks. Then we went back to the old, lets do CoP missions because lots of people need those and it takes no effort by leaders to orchestrate them since it’s expected those that need it, work it out themselves.
One day, Ekin, a long time member since Thousand Swords starts getting questioned on why he got various god gear specifically the Osode since he was mostly playing BLM these days. Ekin had been promised an Osode over a year ago when he joined the shell, much like all the RNG, WAR and NIN had been since day 1. It took well over a year for them to get him that gear. Not because the drop rates are so terrible, not because there were so many others who would get it before him, but because the leaders rarely got around to organizing anything that it took that long to get his drop. They basically accosted him tells that he didn’t deserve it and I’m sorry, after a year of faithful service, he god damn deserved it. Well they basically forced him out of the shell with their tells.
Well, a good part of the LS already has Sea access and started a group doing Limbus which consisted of only Affinity members. We farmed coins for the members to get nice gear and upgrade their relic and we were relatively new to Limbus so a set of rules hadn’t been completely set at the time. After the rules were set, two members, Payge and Andreas decided they didn’t want to take part anymore and would just duo Limbus. But they had taken the liberty of lotting most of the chips and were taking it with them. They made no actions to clarify that they were leaving and didn’t say a word to anyone and just did it. With the recent events, their actions and motives were questionable to say the least so members were left to think the worst. Mind you, these two are considered leaders and refused to equip the pearl 90% of the time. By this time, it was quite obvious to all the members that there were problems with the shell and it was falling apart. I as well as other members had already made several posts on the LS forums about these problems and several members had already started to leave the shell. And when I say several members, I mean members who worked hard in the shell to make it what it was and deserved better than what they got. Well, that’s where the pictures come into play. Payge threw her tantrum again for the gozillionth time. I can assure you everyone including Payge was well aware there were problems with the LS and that it was quite possible that it would be ending soon. So, isn’t it natural that people would start to question what was going to happen to the large LS bank that had been accrued? By the way, Payge even sent me several tells trying to assure me that Affinity wasn’t going to die. Oh, the irony. The person trying the least to save the shell and the most to destroy it telling me Affinity isn’t going to die. I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time.
These are the events as I saw them and as some were explained to me. If I had neglected anything, I do apologize and feel free to post any responses members might have.
